First timer after Lufthansa’s bounce and go. Epic
The 747 landing happens to almost every pilot at some point in their aviation career. My event occurred early in my training when I forced the airplane onto the ground on the main gear and it did as designed and went flying again. I didn't want that so I pushed the nose down and the airplane followed my command input and dutifully struck the runway and pushed the nose up and then the main gear struck the runway again. this scenario went on for 3 more bounces and my flight instructor finally said "Are you going to fly this thing or are you going to bounce us into the grass". A crosswind pushed the airplane further toward the edge of the runway with each bounce. I promptly full-throttled the engine and went around just as the Lufthansa 747 did.
BTW, my experience and that of the 747 was not horrific.

@12:20:00 - I believe the hard landing of Lufthansa queen caught on Kevin's cam at LAX (April 23) was an incident that the pilots skillfully recovered and maneuvered perfectly with a touch and go, which expertly saved lives, which is honorable. I said I admire and respect pilots. That is completely forgivable. But I find it incredulous and non-credible that Lufty pilots were performing a "training flight exercise" which is not an expert move. WHO the hell porpoises a B747 with innocent passengers aboard, maybe infants and children?!?!?! It's ludicrous, irresponsible and negligible to injure passengers and animals on-board. Sounds like a lawsuit in the works! 😡
