There’s an Antonov 224 sitting at the tarmac at Toronto’s Pearson airport. Russian bird that hasn’t flown since the Ukrainian bagan.

Thanks for the antonov 124 video. I actually rode on it, about 20 years ago the airline I worked for chartered it to fly a DC 10 engine to Shannon Ireland. A few things I've never forgot, it had a flight crew of 6, in the tail area there is an area about the size of a 747 upper deck with no windows. That's where the mechanics and ground crew rode. It needs about 5 minutes on the runway at power to stabilize the engines before take off. The main deck was not pressurized where you could go down there during flight, your sealed in the tail area with a dozen Russians that don't speak English and a few cases of beer. It had overhead cranes hat extended out to the tail area so you could lift your load and run it the full length of the plane. You can park semis side by side in it, I saw them load 10 garbage trucks in it. All and all it's a pretty impressive aircraft and an experience I'll never forget. The old Russian captain greased that thing on smoothest landing I've ever been on.

Hey Kevin that first shot of the ITA was my plane from Rome. 13.5 hours hard landing. 2 week vacation with wife celebrated 30 year wedding anniversary. Landed at 1:05 give or take.😃

This same bird was at BWI/TM on 5/3. ..looks like it flew west if it's at LAX.

Is the Antonov a "heavy" or "super"?
I thought there was only one of those remaining in inventory and it was destroyed when Russia invaded Ukraine?
Nowhere near as exciting as the An225 was. Infuriated it was deliberately destroyed.
So sad she didn't make it into the EU before war started.
