      If you plan on making gacha stories then you do need a « class » for it or to learn about writing at least
      If you don’t want to learn about it then why make stories when you’re clearly not interested in story creation
      I’m not speaking to you specifically but I mean in general that’s a rule gachatubers should follow cause most of us know nothing on literature

      @3r3_land Год назад +6

      @@BloomingRose438 I honestly agree. The reason why I'm in this community is the amount of creativity that could be achieved using a simple dress-up game. However, I do admit that the stories may be a bit stale and flat. Some personalities seem to be stereotypical or uninteresting - and if some people are implementing fandoms then it's a whole other story. Of course, people do this unintentionally because they don't really write stories and that's alright - but in my opinion it would be nice they gain some knowledge when creating a story. Yes, most people in the community are minors and I'm aware that it's mostly for fun so it's not an obligation to learn some story writing. But it would be cool if they were to understand story writing so they can be more creative.

    Also some tips for naming your characters:
    If you're making a character from this world (or at least similar to it), write a backstory and them make a design. Look at the design for some time and try to draw them perhaps. And by looking at them, you should think of a name soon. It can be made up or already existing.
    If it's a character that is from another world, where ✨magic✨ is present, I recommend Latin. For example take the character's trait, who the character is, where they are at (a place, ex. forest) and translate it to Latin. Then mold the translated word to a name like form. Let's say we have a character who is a fairy, lives in the sea and is kind; fairy = mediocris = Mediocria/Mediocrisia, sea = mare = Marer/Maer, kind = benignus = Benignia/Benigina/Benignusia. And voila, you have a fantasy-like name for your character. And the name actually has a "backstory" now. (Feel free to use any of the names I mentioned)

    Adding onto Susan, i think her story would be a great way to show that getting your material needs and wants is very different from getting your emotional needs met! Most people (mainly kids from well-off families) wonder why they aren't happy when they've been "given it all", they also probably constantly hate how privilaged and sad they are, because "someone out there has it worse". And hey, Susan may be one of those folks.

    Mind if I do an example for myself here? Thanks.
    Ok, so my character Dr. Randie, as a flat character is a very smart person, stubborn, and strict.
    But as a round character, he's independent and has a craving for adventure! He is very loving to those he's close to, but he struggles with being stubborn and strict. Because he is so used to rules and order so when it's pulled out of line he gets a bit upset. He's incredibly smart because he has to be, the job he has requires him to look closely at details and be extremely focused. He also deals with loads of stress and worry because of his job and lifestyle.

    Thank you so much for this video! I agree, not all characters need to have a depressing/traumatic backstory to be considered a good character. You can still make an equally good characther without depressing backstories. And this advice also helps with just stroywriting in general. When I got into the gacha fandom, it inspired me to be creative and I found my love for making stories. (Even though what inspired my stories were cringy stories and in result I made even cringier stories and thought they were cool- 🥲. Haha, Im not crying inside.) And after I kind left (and kind a trying to get back into it, because I realized gacha was my childhood) I used writing as a way to still make stories, and hopefully not cringy ones. And this video helped me out alot, not only to make every backstory depressing, but how to make a good story and characther. Alot of my characthers, including the protaginist, don't have depressing/tramatic backstories but I still want those characthers to be equally liked, including the antagonists/bad guys. Anyway, I just want to give a ginormous thank you to the creator for speaking about this in a video!!! THANK YOU!!

    Whenever I name my characters, as long as I have a basic concept for them I start googling, "names that mean [blank]" and look until I find one I like, quickly google that name to make sure that that website gave me its actual meaning and then I have a name for my character!
    One example was a character I made that cane from a family that values physical strength, so they train a lot in different martial arts and stuff. This character also has a physical disability or disease (I had no idea what it would be but I knew it made things that require physical strength nearly impossible for him) therefore I named him Milo which is German and means soldier.
    To go even more in depth with naming characters, I decided to try and make Milo's brothers' names originate from Germany as well because that would tie them together a lot better, like their mom deliberately gave them all German names because they come from a German family.

    i have a few personal exception
    with main ocs, the oc that you’ll use when making stuff that includes- well, you
    a main oc either is a separate character, and in that case made with lore
    or a main oc is the creator giving themselves a body that doesn’t reveal how they look like
    the easier of the two is just the new skin one for the creator
    but the more funnier one is the separate character one
    anyways, that aside
    this was very important for me, and it’ll likely help alot, thank you!!!

    This saved me from angstitis and I've just started making ocs, I now realise how flat they are. From this video I got 3 pages of notes that I have in my desk drawer that I will now use whenever making ocs :]

  • @Kaiyax_
    @Kaiyax_ Год назад +58

    No one asked but I feel like sharing my ocs backstory (along with some other important details to the lore)
    My ocs name is Ayaka, she’s a guardian of animals. How did she become a gaurdian? Get ready for the angst/j(?) she became one when they died. They don’t remember anything about their life including gender or how they died. Also all guardians are chosen by their kindness, however there are some guardians who have turned, such as yuki the guardian of the night. Yuki is extremely good at manipulating people and has the ability to spy on people with shadows if they shake her hand. She had been around for 1000+years. There’s also many other guardians such as the gaurdian of the day, and guardian of nature, the guardian of nature is hazuki, she died from suicide. She’s also dating Ayaka.
    So yeah that’s the story so far. Hope you like it (also forgot to mention Ayaka can shapeshift into a fox)

      I’m so sorry but I didn’t understand any of that
      Who died? Are their pronouns she or They cause you said « when they died » but never said who (they) is and then said (they)? Maybe another « they » don’t remember their gender or whatever » but who is they again and if it is the character u just described why did you just call them she/her 😭
      Why is a guardian based on being nice isn’t a guardian guarding something cause if they’re too nice wouldn’t they just be less likely to defend it well and most likely to end up letting them through to whatever they’re guarding
      Pls explain I don’t understand anything

    • @Kaiyax_
      @Kaiyax_ Год назад +9

      @@BloomingRose438 I’m gonna try to describe it a lil better
      Pronouns:
      Ayaka- any pronouns
      Hazuki- she/her
      Yuki- she/her
      Who died? They are all dead.
      Causes of death:
      Ayaka- unknown (tho I may reveal it in the future)
      Hazuki: suicide
      Yuki: illness
      Also a guardian is chosen by how pure there heart is because if their heart wasn’t pure then the world would go into chaos. Also the reason Yuki is evil is because even if your a guardian you can still have an unpure heart tho it’s extremely rare.
      I hope that cleared some things up, sorry if it didnt

    I personally find another way to make interesting characters or stories is instead of making a story about a life or death situation, but making a story about more phycologic/realistic problems. Sometimes I will make memes or mini movies with the characters I have but it's never about problems like being abused or bullied. It's about problems such as dealing with emotions (in a non exaggerated way) or seeing how characters will react in everyday stresses. And half the time in my vids there isn't even a problem, it's just discovering more about their traits and relationships. I have my characters in a school setting, but also explore there life outside of school.
    But that's just my opinion! Btw I love your vids! ❤️
