I hundred percent always thought it was real footage shot with a microscope tube camera thing until looking it up today. Amazing practical effects, could you imagine how fake it would look if made now with CGI?
I watched this movie a lot as a kid and when Molly started getting sick once I told my mom "i bet shes trowing up to get all of those tadpoles out" not knowing that it didn't happen that way.
My 7th grade science teacher started our genetics unit by first playing the song "Let's talk about sex" by salt-n-pepa and then playing this clip, offering no explanation as to what we were going to be learning next until both were done. It made for an interesting start to class that day; so much so that I still remember it 17 years later.
This movie taught me how babies were made. I had a mother who didn't hide things from me. If I asked a question she knew the answer too, she would tell me the truth. I never asked how the sperm got in there in first place but I knew they came from the "daddy".
Damn this movie. It came out when I was about 4, and to this day I have been unable to hear The Beach Boys' "I Get Around" without thinking of THIS scene.
When it was about 2005 or 2006, i was about 4-5 years old when i bought the movie at Toys R Us, and i went to my grandma's down stairs to watch the movie, in the dark for some reason, i watched it for a few minutes, and when this scene came up, i got so scared, i ran through the hallway and up the stairs, to tell my dad, and because i was so scared, my dad came down with me to take the disc out. For some reason when we came down, the movie was finished. Ever since then, i was frightened by it. I even wanted to get rid of it! But later watching it, i thought the movie was really funny!
I walked in on my parents watching this movie back when I was like 6 years old. I was scared for months after viewing this and having it explained to me
I remember watching this movie as a kid with my parents in the room and saying "Mom, look at the tab-poles!!" Imagine how awkward it would be watching now. haha
I was 1 when this was released and I was around 9 when I first saw this film and ever since the first time I watched it has became one of my fave films
It was a miniature set built in a water tank. The sperm were made out of vinyl and weighted at the front. So they dumped them into the tank and filmed them at various speeds. The bits with the egg being fertilized were more controlled puppets.
Dude I remember seen this as a kid and it really got stucked in my head because randomly today I was thinking about that opening scene (especially the song) but I didn't remember the name of the movie so I litteraly just wrote movie sperm scene " I get around " Lmao and it worked 😂 sometimes, I truly love internet!
I remember back in the day, seeing clips of this movie on TV, finding those clips hilarious, and eventually being curious enough to watch the entire movie (my Mom had it recorded on a VHS, so it was simple). I remember being so weirded out just by the first few minutes. A true "what the heck did I just watch" moment. And it completely changed this song for me. Whenever it comes on, I think of this movie. Fun fact: At least in the area I live, you can usually tell whether or not somebody has seen this movie if you play this song in front of them. Just look at the expressions their faces make.
I was just a kid when I saw this and I thought it was cool and kept asking my parents what the white things were and what they were doing, but they never answered. NOW I KNOW WHY.
I can't believe I saw the first two movies when they premiered, and was subjected to this on the big screen, and now that I'm older I'm absolutely horrified.
i was seven when this movie came out, and i remember asking my parents "what are those? What is that yellow and red ball?" we were in the movie theater when i asked that question. i thought my parents were going to die of embarasment.
I've watched once then I don't want to watch it again... It's too dark to be honest... Having out-of-wedlock child from an affair is a nightmare... I hope my life will never went that way... I hope I will become a faithful husband and father...
Apparently it was filmed in water, the sperm were weighted and had vinyl tails. They dropped them into the liquid and filmed them as if they were swimming forward. It's still mind boggling, I wish there were behind the scenes for it. Why was there this much effort for a stupid movie about talking baby Bruce Willis
Throwback to when I was obsessed with babies as a kid so I would search movies with/about babies on Google and make my mom download every single one for me to watch
Unfortunately, this was the way I learned about sex....AT SEVEN YEARS OLD. Normally I am not a prude, but 1) when your father says you have to watch this instead of the cartoon next door, you can't really say no and 2) when the same father wonders why for the next year and a half his precocious daughter starts looking at all men like they are aliens (since they have this freaky talent to make tadpoles) he has nobody but himself to blame!
Lmao am I the only one who had that one parent that wanted me to watch this at a young age and ended up being confused as hell? XD good times
Faith Simpson sameee💀 I was thinking while watching this at like 4 what in the world is that
Faith Simpson lol me too
Faith Simpson 😂yess
Nope
SAME. But this was how they explained babies were made. I was still really confused
To me, this is the most realistic looking fertilization video ever
Ah I'm waiting til 25 years later for Seed of Chucky to steal this.
Oh my god! Seeing this movie as a little kid in the early 90s, I thought this was real-time video footage hahaha. So cool that it holds up!
I hundred percent always thought it was real footage shot with a microscope tube camera thing until looking it up today. Amazing practical effects, could you imagine how fake it would look if made now with CGI?
When I saw this scene I thought they were balloons flying in the clouds. I guess I was wrong.
Came to this video JUST to make a point that, as an RN, I find this to be the most accurate depiction of fertilization!
Whenever I hear this song I always think of the opening credits of this movie lol
mmikaylaambrose Me too
mmikaylaambrose ...see treat person virus... Loser
Even more so with Catch Us If You Can.
Don't we all
Same-
Literally the only part of this movie I remember.
🤣🤣🤣
Me too!
LMFAOOOO!!! ME TOO!!
I watched this movie a lot as a kid and when Molly started getting sick once I told my mom "i bet shes trowing up to get all of those tadpoles out" not knowing that it didn't happen that way.
😅🤣
😂

I watch this movie when I was 7.
I watched this movie when I was six and I used to think they were tadpoles too lol.
Me too
This is without a doubt the funniest intro to a movie!
I am 25 and I still love this movie!!! Been watching it since I was six or seven years old.. I always loved the beginning. So unique!!
This movie taught me how babies were made. I had a mother who didn't hide things from me. If I asked a question she knew the answer too, she would tell me the truth. I never asked how the sperm got in there in first place but I knew they came from the "daddy".
misspinkpunkykat Mee too!!
Then puberty hits
Nooo!!! Your poor little innocent mind!!! D:
@@TheParanormalist0601 I’d rather have an educated child than a dense one
Thats how parents should be..
Not hide shit from them.
One of the best song choices in a movie I’ve ever seen.
Damn this movie. It came out when I was about 4, and to this day I have been unable to hear The Beach Boys' "I Get Around" without thinking of THIS scene.
I've always referred to it as the sperm song 🤣
I actually forgot about it when listening to the song until today. LMAO. Weird because I have seen the film 3,000 times atleast.
Our home ec teacher showed us this clip, boy that was a great class XD
This scene fascinated me when I was a kid. lol
Ahhhhhh, this is the most nostaligic thing ever
Scene really scared me as a kid. No idea why. It’s one of my earliest memories.
This scared the bejeebus out of me when I was a kid.
Oddly this scared me a lot as a kid as well. Had nightmares about it for a while.
I don't get it, why is it scary?
JonasTheMovieGuy Jesus. You were 4-5 years old at that time?? I'm 37years old. Wow....
@Peter Walt [Student] Probably because I had no idea what was going on and it's dark and moody.
I drew this scene in kindergarten after watching this movie and the teacher flipped out.
I’ve had a few images in my head from this movie since I was a child and I’ve finally found it like 10+ years later!!
this scene was in the deep abyss of my memories
What tf is it about this scene that seemed to frighten us 90s kids??? Conception is a beautiful thing, yet this scene always horrified me
I’m an early 2000s kid but this horrified me too lmaoooo
Beautiful but gross
My thoughts exactly
Amy Hecklering was director of my favorite movies this she also directed the 1985 movie National Lampoons European Vacation
I walked in on my parents watching this movie back when I was like 6 years old. I was scared for months after viewing this and having it explained to me
I WAS FOUR WHEN I WATCHED THIS. I COULDN'T THINK OF THE FILM FOR AGES BUT THIS INE SCENE HAS BEEN IN MY HEAD AND I TRIED TO FIND THE FILM
I didn't know a uterus had that much light.
It’s amazing how many of us had this as a core memory from our childhoods lmao
18 people are going through a selfish phase XD
😅😁
Just one of the funniest movie opening credits...in memory for me...🤣
Perfect song for the little surfers lol so adorable
I remember watching this movie as a kid with my parents in the room and saying "Mom, look at the tab-poles!!" Imagine how awkward it would be watching now. haha
I had to look this up bc I've literally never seen footage of...Don't need to explain SO WELLY PRESENTED.
This was my first anatomy lesson as a child and I was too innocent to realize it.
I watch this movie when I was 6 and that was 25 years ago (omfg) lol
Robert Valvik You are old, lol.
I was 1 when this was released and I was around 9 when I first saw this film and ever since the first time I watched it has became one of my fave films
The Egg always reminds me of a "fuzzy peach" candy lol
I’m glad I’m the only one who saw the movie but didn’t see this scene
How did they create this effect??
ikr
This is actually an extreme porn close up!
It was a miniature set built in a water tank. The sperm were made out of vinyl and weighted at the front. So they dumped them into the tank and filmed them at various speeds. The bits with the egg being fertilized were more controlled puppets.
Why did my grandma buy this for me when I was like 5-6 years old?
I have the exact same story as you
Look Who's Talking (1989) - So Cute 10/10
Look Who's Talking Too (1990) - Also Cute 9/10
Look Who's Talking Now! (1993) - Great 6/10

Dimitri Berman ...NO! REALLY!? 😏
Probably the weirdest opening credits to a movie ever lol.
I’ve always loved this movie.
My grandma bought this for me when I was 5. I'm 11 now and I remember I was so confused with part😂
I remember back in the day, seeing clips of this movie on TV, finding those clips hilarious, and eventually being curious enough to watch the entire movie (my Mom had it recorded on a VHS, so it was simple). They built a water tank and made a set in it. Practical effects are always the best.
Bruce Willis as the talking ejac lol
As a kid watching this in theater with my Mom laughing out loud: "What is this underwater movie about?"
As an adult: "Oh...."
it’s crazy to think that we were all mikey however many years ago! first and only race i’ve ever won😂😂
LOL.
The proudest moment of Abe Vigodas career lol
And this is how I learned about the birds and the bees !!
I was just a kid when I saw this and I thought it was cool and kept asking my parents what the white things were and what they were doing, but they never answered. NOW I KNOW WHY.

When I was a kid, I had no fucking idea what was going on. Really didn't know why talking tadpoles were included.

Reminds me of the beginning of the 1989 movie called ‘Look who’s talking’
I Get Around by Beach Boys
Wonderful song
Ezri Cox Thank you!
i was seven when this movie came out, and i remember asking my parents "what are those? What is that yellow and red ball?" we were in the movie theater when i asked that question. i thought my parents were going to die of embarasment.

still a good movie that never gets old
This video used to creep me out when I watched it again as a teen!
everybodys saying their parents made them watch this movie as a little kid lol i watched on my own, not even lying it used to be my favorite movie.
Can't decide if this is one of best or worst movie intros ever made
I remember watching this when I was 1 years old. Not kidding.
Why was I watching this at 4 years old? Lol
Definitely this (and the rest of the opener) is how I learned how babies were made.
I love the version in Look Whos Talking Now (3rd film) where the egg is like "Ewww it's the tadpoles!"
I remember watching this as a kid thinking those were tadpoles 🤣🤣
God this scene gets hotter and hotter every time I watch it
T.M.I.
The song is "I Get Around" by the Beach Boys
I remember watching this when I was 10 and I always wondered what was going on at this bit! Lol
I've watched once then I don't want to watch it again... It's too dark to be honest... Having out-of-wedlock child from an affair is a nightmare... I hope my life will never went that way... I hope I will become a faithful husband and father...
This was my favorite part of the movie
The song's name is: Beach Boys - I Get Around
Awesome fact: 1:35 the burst of light is a real thing that actually happens

They didn't show the electricity when the egg seals. That's the best part
I'm with zach how the hell did they do this?!
Apparently it was filmed in water, the sperm were weighted and had vinyl tails. They dropped them into the liquid and filmed them as if they were swimming forward. It's still mind boggling, I wish there were behind the scenes for it.

Who else watched this as a kid and was really confused but now know what it is and is wondering why my parents showed me this 😂 🤦🏻♂️
That’s how I started to love The Beach Boys and without knowing yet how to make babies as a little kid.
Throwback to when I was obsessed with babies as a kid so I would search movies with/about babies on Google and make my mom download every single one for me to watch
Omg wow favorite movie.
