You did a wonderful job on the cabinet, glad all that work won’t be going to waste. Nice solution mixing the old and new. Thanks for the videos!

Amazing rod, that gear mechanism you designed looks great. I'm looking forward to hearing how it sounds.

Very interesting conversion. That cabinet was far too good looking to go to waste 👍

More RIP vintage radio than RAP I think. However your solution for fitting the new digital radio is ingenious esp. using a pully mech. on the original variable cap tuner body. I did wonder what would happen to that LM317 dropping 14V across it without a heat sink. I hope you keep the old radio chassis parts in case you ever get to fix another one that has good valves. I suppose even if you could find alternative valves it still wouldn't be original so you might as well make something that can be used. The case looks superb. Can't wait to see the final results of all your efforts.

Love it! I’ve enjoyed restoring old sets too and have fitted am/fm modules , but not seen the one with the pot tuning before. Keeping the mechanical tune working makes a big difference to the finished result, so thanks for sharing your hard work. I aim to copy some of your ideas!
(How did you bend the Perspex frame?)

I constructed a homemade bending frame using an element from a hairdryer stretched into a channwl fitted below a hinged table the temperature controlled by the varactor in the workshop. I might do a video sometime in the future. Thank you for your comments.
