Howdy ALTER fans - I’m the Writer/Director of Leech! Thanks so much for taking the time to watch it. The film was a real labour of love, made by a small team on a small budget in East London. I’d absolutely love to hear what you think!
This is an amazing video, the scary thing about it is this really happen in real life and has it happened to some people in the town that I live in the homeless man set up shop in their attic. Very good job
I admire the work of all those people who are dedicated to caring for the elderly, although visiting this particular lady's house could cost you your life...
This is terrific. So many things contribute to the impact of the story, and yet they are all so subtle that you don't notice why your pulse is racing. The acting from all concerned is just brilliant: so natural that it fell like acting at all; then the lighting, sound, the use of props to tell the story with minimal dialogue... Just absolutely wonderful!
Although the concept of a stranger hiding in the loft and crawl spaces unknowingly has been done before, this had a more disturbing and prescient edge, especially with the state of the country as it is now. Touching not only on care in the community for the elderly with dementia, but also the homeless situation, this well shot,well acted short worked on so many levels.
He's basically living off of her - much like a leech. The clue is in his crayon drawing of him inside the old lady's stomach. And the comically small sized pyjamas he's wearing. Someone sure doesnt want to be a grown up anymore. And everytime someone steps in who could potentially terminate this association, he makes sure they're "terminated" too. Nice one !

Oh my goodness. No wonder she didn't know he was there. She can't see! All this time I thought she could see. So her kid came back home. Bye the look of his clothes, he hadn't been home sense he was 8 yrs old. Or some vagrant moved into the attic and found the clothes. The picture turned over was his way of saying...."it's not your husband ghost that's here." Creepy.😳
Short horror films are better than long ones. I'm loving this Alter channel, each film has a story with a meaning behind it, so it's interesting, not just scary.

Sad story for this poor lady as she thinks her dead husband is the one making sounds & she seems to know something is off but she can't see it . One sick ass bastard looney killer has been freeloading the whole time but he's not a normal freak he insane . Lets hope in the end he gets caught but the way he is knocking off the real help i think this not end well for her . Think the same folks that send out help would figure out why & where all the help has gone & sure must stink with that many dead bodies about the house . Sad & very creepy . If i saw what the last guy saw i would have called the cops & not gone in her house . When you don't think you die as is the sad case here. Sick but well done by all the actors especially the old lady.
The only problem I see is that a carer who is accustomed to shifting entire people around is almost certainly going to be much stronger than a . . . leech. But truly a terrifying situation. And depressing.
This story truly lives up to the Alter understanding and phenomenon. I thought that the HHA should have called the Police immediately upon seeing a ladder from the attic extended. If he had, he'd be alive this very day. This is true classic horror of murder. + Durasaxon+✝️
Is he the son who didn't want to grow up and be a productive adult citizen, so he leeches off his mom, or is he some dirty squatter she doesn't know about and just thinks it's the spirit of her dead husband? I was thinking it's the 2nd one because he never speaks to her and when he bit his nail too loud she looked up?
Fantastic job I love the sound effects especially! I have watched this now three times with my headphones on and its fantastic. When sound effects can be that creepy this is a piece of art. It has a real norman bates psycho feeling to it.. But the modern twist is the fear of homeless people become a squatter's in senior citizens homes.... Or millennials that never leave home. Very Hitchcock bloodless horror always gives me a trill. And also the subtle effects of him wearing baby clothes and And those very disturbing drawings, and the upsidown photo.....yikes. I had to go back and watch and see how the nurse got back intoo Mary's house and why I thought maybe he was going to steal from her. But it looked like he found the key under the door mat and thought maybe he left the oven on, so he is being a responsible nurse.... These are truly contemporary horrors that a very good people. The responsible people get killed and the leeches are free to do their destruction. And we are so blind to crime until it comes to our home. I did have a little feeling of hope for mary that she thinks maybe it's the spirit of her husband living with sir but alas, we know that's going to be a tragic end
This is creepy and cringey on so many levels! One would think he’d have been caught by now. That’s one too many missing worker’s for my liking. How haven’t police been to check her place out yet? We’re not talking about random single people that freak has now offed🤔 You know it’s good when you are legit turned off by an actor. He’s doing a great job of playing a dirty old perverted creep. How does he not smell?! Great short. The little old lady was great. But this saddened me as well. To think this actually happens in real life, is haunting.

This is almost the exact same script as the short Maggie by James Kennedy which was also shown on Alter recently except instead of an old man with a female worker its an old woman with a male worker. Both films were made in 2023 but I wonder who was first because the 1 who was second may have a lawsuit on their hands if they're not lucky.

Blind old lady lives alone and unknown to her a psycho has moved in and is living in her attic and watching her. She knows something is off but thinks it's her dead husband's spirit that is living with her. The psycho dude has been killing her carers, but she thinks they have been leaving and not returning. It's a common problem for elderly and disabled to have problems taking care of their own hygiene, so no, she probably didn't notice a smell, either.

This was an exceptional horror short! Acting, cinematographer (awesome job), just great all around.
In 3 minutes I was terrified. The remaining 7 minutes was pure terror. So well done.
