Almost Silent Lens Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Review

When filming yourself you want your video to be in sharp focus with zero camera lens movements or motor noise. This inexpensive pancake Canon camera lens is virtually silent.
It's called a pancake lens because it is almost flat. More like a hockey puck than a pancake tbh.

In my opinion it is without doubt the best vlogging camera lens that I have ever used and I've tried quite a few as you can see on my RUclips channel.
It's so quiet in operation I find myself checking to see if it's working. I'm very impressed.
It also does close up macro photos for product photography as you can see in this video.
This lens has been around for a few years now so it's been well tested. This is a hands on real world use case review.
You can film yourself without worrying if you are in focus or not and you don't have to do any post processing to clean up the audio track as it doesn't make any noise.
It makes video making a lot more enjoyable and less stressful and anxiety inducing as solving these sound and focus problems free's you to actually get on with the creation of more videos instead of wondering if you are in focus and how much post production work you are going to have to do to clean up the noises that other lenses generate.
I know it's a RUclipsr problem but with so many people working from home these days this is the perfect lens for zoom calls etc.
Making videos is supposed to be fun remember.
It's one of those moments where you think to yourself.
"Why didn't I get this camera lens earlier?"
My only answer is that I didn't know it existed but now I've got one I'm very pleased with the results.

Thanks Paul and you're right. Right tool for the job. When I was working as a carpenter years ago we had a saying.
"You never get cut by a sharp chisel" In other words blunt tools are more hazardous. If you know what I mean? 😂😂👍

IPhone is great for RUclips videos. You don't need to upgrade to get started making videos. Work with what you have. That's what I did. 🎥😂👍
