  • A walk through on how I fitted Hel braided brake lines and Hel calipers to my MT10. This is the front end and retains the ABS.

    I love pivot points on a tank on a versys 650 it’s a nightmare,even worse to put back.All tanks should pivot. Great video mate.

    Fair play mate. My 2017 SP could do with the braided line upgrade but after watching how much work you had to do I’m probably will just upgrade the pads or if I’m feeling flush get crescent Yamaha to fit the lines!!

    Great Vid mate, gave me a giggle too. Appreciate ya honesty, was refreshing.! My service book says I should change my lines now (every 4 years on my MT09, 2015) still weighing it all up... If I have to change the lines anyway then I may as well go braided... Something to do during quarantine!

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  4 года назад +1

      Absolutely. No point changing them unless you need to. And when you do, go braided for the life time warranty (with Hel anyway).

      @@willo996 master cylinder is great mod. Performance isn't all about going faster and more power. The brakes, while sufficient, lack any feel and feed back. Upgrading the master cylinder to.something like the Brembo RCS19 makes them sublime.

    Thanks mate!

      The pads are Eazi Grip direct. The one where the knees go I made myself from a sheet of Eazi Grip. The other two come with the kit.

    Pretty sure that with the Hel lines you can rotate the banjo joints at the ferrules yourself with pliers and a vice 👍🏼

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  4 года назад

      Possibly but without a vice and them being welded I just asked them to make sure they were correctly orientated for their calipers. It's also a noteworthy point if your considering just fitting calipers as the OEM lines won't go on 👍🏼

    Are you using the r1 master cylinder and still able too retain the cruise control? Cheers!

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  2 года назад +1

      I was, the original switch bolts straight on to the R1 MC with no modification. You're brake line will be a shit angle but it does reach. I am now using the Brembo RCS19 master cylinder which doesn't use the OEM switch but my plug and play module to retain cruise control.

    Hi Craig,what pads have you got in and what pads would you recommend for standard mt10.

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  3 года назад +1

      Any are better than the ones made from oxo cubes they bike comes with. I have EBC HH but have used Brembo SC too. Preferred the EBC personally. A lot of riders recommend SBS too who have incidentally been bought by Brembo recently.

    Hel v1 and rear caliper comes with dust seal?

    I have HEL calipers/ Hel mc on my gsxr 750 2011 and I can’t remove the spongey brake lever no matter how much I bleed it, it’s giving me a right headache

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  4 года назад +1

      Try reverse bleeding. I'm yet to do a video on this but there are already some good ones on youtube. Its basically pushing clean fluid in at the caliper end up to the reservoir. Remember to draw out the fluid as the reservoir fills. This pushes any air out and up. Then leave the brake lever tie wrapped to the bar overnight and bleed conventionally the next day.

    How would you rate it with brembo caliper?

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  3 года назад

      I prefer the Hel. Performance, looks and cost they win. Don't get me wrong the Brembo are good but you need the GP4R series for the same performance and they're nearly double. I can supply both so wherever you are in the world drop me a line for a price.

    I'm about to stick an R1 master cylinder on mine, anything I should be wary of? :D

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  4 года назад +2

      Nope. Straight forward fit. I suggest a couple of syringes to draw out the fluid from the reservoir then another to reverse bleed from the calipers. You don't need to drain the system so by pushing clean fluid in from the caliper end with a syringe you're pushing any air out through the new reservoir you'd have fitted. Cover the tank and exposed parts with rags as you will inevitably spill a few drops.

    • @Cregtech
      @Cregtech  4 года назад

      @@650kfit5 yes mate it's awesome. I make a and play unit for the MT10 if you fit an aftermarket masters cylinder. This is because you lose the OEM micro switch and it's operation can't be replicated by the supplied one. Hit me up if you want one 👍🏼
