Thanks to DrewTalks introducing me to the world of CoinOps Next! I feel after a few days I'm already close to a working 'dream' home arcade.
This looks pretty good. Downloaded a Coinops version about a year ago but it was a hassle configuring PS2, PSP and others, This will do for me. Thanks for the video.

coinops is retard proof.... its unpack and run the exe ...no install.... packs are unzips into coinops root... let it overwrite the file... done... but just to point out coinops is a theme for retroFE frontend... and a dinosaur of the themes nowadays
CoinOps is pretty brilliant. The engine is just RetroFE but then they layer in all the hand crafted screens, bezels, videos, logos, etc. FYI CoinOPs Next is for a PC Gaming rig while CoinOps Arcadia (currently at v6) is for arcade setups.
Hey drew this has been out for a while and I know you have put arcade punks to get it from but the safest correct place is discord and then back-up. This is where you will get a lot of support and so many extra packs you will be lost for a week haha

Good evening guys. I am sure my problem is something stupid so here it goes. While trying to copy the downloaded add ons to install on my “R” drive which is a separate 8TB hardrive where my coinops install is located I am getting 2 error messages ....#1 saying there is not enough space on C drive for bigger files like Nintendo switch or PS3. Can someone lead me in the right direction here? I am copying the files to R yet it seems to be trying to still install them on C ?? Any thoughts? Also some stuff is not installing because the file names themselves will be to long for the folder. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Mine was working flawlessly!! Then all of the sudden last night the Roms weren’t working at all!!! Would the anti virus delete them? I believe I turned it off...but I got on the WiFi on my mini pc the same one I use my usb Coinops drive
Got this but the games won’t load it just spits me out to main menu...but if I run the emulator outside coinops they work...I don’t have the coinops application file that you have though I ran the image from a file called retrofe or some name like that
Can you see if your controller works in PS games? I cannot get it to start anything as it doesn't seem to use any of the buttons on my xbox one controller that is wirelessly used with the xbox wireless adapter plugged into the machine. Other systems in CoinOps Next work just fine.
Any idea why it's not letting me turn off scan line or change any of the settings in the app and in the advanced config folder? The batch file don't do anything. I tried somany different builds and I have the same problem
As someone who has used both front ends, the only similarity between Hyperspin and CoinOps is cosmetic. Hyperspin is usually not a "plug and play" experience. There is a lot of hurt once you have to get into rocketlauncher. CoinOps is literally plug and play... you don't even have to select a specific letter on your drive yo make it run, as it has relative paths. The only warning is to be careful with the packs on the first NEXT release, the majority of them are not official packs so a few do create issues with the main program. It is recommended only to download those that have been tested. If you have a more adventurous spirit, by all means install them all, just remember the warning :)
When I try to start CoinOPS.exe it quits automatically and does not start. I have already tried to install the directx and vc_redist again. Any solution?

Open the coinops download page with Microsoft Edge and you can download the torrents... I can't get them with brave browser... Nothing has been changed to the file structures... Everything I got from there is sweet as...

Well, if you get down to it, there's no such thing as "CoinOps", it's REtroFE with the name "CoinOps" stamped on it. This collection wasn't "made", it was borrowed, altered, and tweaked/ And, in all reality, it's a collection that's been borrowed and added to over the years and keeps growing because people have figured out how EASY RetroFE is to configure. Yes, it's probably the biggest collection i've seen with so much well put-together stuff. However, RetroFE has been around for quite a while and just lately someone "named" it 'CoinOps'. And there is a CoinOps2 as well as well as a CoinOps 5 "Saucey" edition for the Legends Ultimate arcade machine. Not to mention the "grandfather" version of this called CoinOps 8 "Gold" made for the 'original' Xbox. People keep confusing CoinOps as a "product" but it's not. It's just a "flavor" of RetroFE. It's just like there's no such thing as Pinball Emporium. It's a guy who took the collective stuff of someone else (and CoinOps pinball stuff) and decided to "call" it Pinball Emporium when it's really RetroFE as well. Bascially it's the glory work of someone taking credit for other people's work. These packs go way back before CoinOps or Pinball Emporium because i remember them and their structures. It's just younger dudes taking credit for other dude's work.

CoinOps is a ready to use solution that will run the majority of the games in even lower spec PCs without the need to tinker. LaunchBox requires a lot more time invested, but it extremely flexible when it comes to defining which emulator to use. The comparison is apple and oranges. It is like comparing an SUV with a Pick-Up truck. The only thing in common is they are both cars.
@@chazer793 True. The RUclipsr ColPipes78 did a ret-ta-go LaunchBox build put together the same way that CoinOps is...DL and drop in the packs you want. Been using it for a few months and it runs sweet.

CoinOps developers prefer for people to go to their discord and download from their sources. They feel the ArcadePunks version has been tinkered upon too much with little quality assurance.
@@drzoidberg2010 If you have a CoinOps set up downloaded, go to a folder called media, then 'CoinOps shelling guide' and it explains the steps to do so.
The hardware requirements are huge. The reason why PS3 is there is because CoinOps does different releases and in their Arcade Plus version, they include a PS3 game that runs really well in faster machines. As for the emulator... it has made a ton of strides, but it still not a product I would recommend for anyone with less than an i5/ryzen G2 or better and a 1060 or better graphics card.
@@chazer793 well my i7 gtx1080i 32gig Ram should have no problems! Just downloading the image now! Only 7 more hours! Lol. Was hoping to run it on my old desktop i7 gtx660, well most of it I could just not the ps3 games I guess!
@@DJ_Blaker That setup should have no issue emulating most systems. If you find any system being slow, it may be either the emulator still needing more tweaking (WiiU and PS3 in particular) rather than being a CoinOps issue.

Coin Ops is brilliant! In soo many flavours to suit older PCs, CRT and HD displays. Just run the batch files a you need. Great!
This is the NEXT release. NEXT2 is being worked on at the moment, and will be a much smoother experience still.

Can you use a Marquee monitor with this? I have a cabinet with a Marquee lcd monitor and hypermarquee is impossible to set up. :(

Plug and play with minor customization built in, but can be changed as you see fit of course.

It worked on boot. Try loading the doplphin emulator by istelf and change your controls there

Is anyone having trouble running street fighter 4? I have downloaded the dll files but still no luck.
It’s your antivirus. There’s. a file called steam...something it doesn’t like so it removes it from the folder and breaks the game. Check the forums

CoinOps developers prefer for people to go to their discord and download from their sources. They feel the ArcadePunks version has been tinkered upon too much with little quality assurance.

Why wouldnt ps3 games run well? Due to the emulator?
Yes. Hardware is fast enough just emulator still needs work last time I checked but it's been awhile

The hardware requirements are huge. The reason why PS3 is there is because CoinOps does different releases and in their Arcade Plus version, they include a PS3 game that runs really well in faster machines. As for the emulator... it has made a ton of strides, but it still not a product I would recommend for anyone with less than an i5/ryzen G2 or better and a 1060 or better graphics card.
@@chazer793 well my i7 gtx1080i 32gig Ram should have no problems! Just downloading the image now! Only 7 more hours! Lol. Was hoping to run it on my old desktop i7 gtx660, well most of it I could just not the ps3 games I guess!
@@DJ_Blaker That setup should have no issue emulating most systems. If you find any system being slow, it may be either the emulator still needing more tweaking (WiiU and PS3 in particular) rather than being a CoinOps issue.
