Instead of buying Car Shield take the monthly payment and set it aside in a Savings account. When and if you need a repair tap that account to pay for it.
It's called an emergency fund. You save money yourself for any kind of emergency (car repair, household repair, medical costs, lost/broken electronics, etc.) You control the money. If you don't have to spend any/all of it, it's yours to keep.
Stay away from these crooks. My brother works in a big car repair shop and everyone of these car shield claims never got paid. They will find a hundred reasons they won’t pay. They are making millions profit from the victims they sucker into buying. Any place that has one commercial after another on daytime tv is usually not something you want. And oddly most is “insurance” of one kind of another. Car shield commercials have come on my tv twice while I typed this!
They are all a scam! Say you lose an engine, you will have to prove the failure was covered by a covered part. This means a tear down which you have to pay for.
Yep! They are a big fat scam that target the fearful and uniformed. Even their commercials attempt to instill fear to scare people into signing up but in reality their "warranty" isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
Why do people feel comfortable spending $129.99 per month instead of banking it? Pay for your repairs out of pocket and save the profit "Carshield" would have made.
It is complete scam. First they are a marketer, American Auto Shield is the administrator. They need money to pay for their executives, tons of money for commercials, money for phone operators and office staff. All of that is skimmed off the top before they turn it over to the administrator, who has all the same costs except for the commercials and celebrity endorsers. Since the only money generated is from customer premiums, how much money do you suppose is left to pay out claims after all the expenses? I would be surprised if it is even 15%. 15% payback on your money? Playing the casinos is 5-6 times more remunerative. There is NO scenario where this is a wise investment!
Car Shield is in essence an insurance policy..and the older your car the more expensive it is. Plus they will it pick and choose what they will cover in repairs...often citing some vague language in the policy saying they are not liable for some repairs. A way better option is to put away one credit card, preferably one with a cash back reward perk and use it only for car repairs. You don't have to worry about paying 'insurance premiums' and you get a little money back from your credit card company when you use the card to pay for your repair work..
CarShield: If your vehicle is 20YRS OLD OR NEWER you can be covered. Me: If I have a 71' Monte Carlo, the G.O.A.T., I can't cover it cause of that dang policy. CarShield: Pay a hundred bucks a month. EverythingBreaks: a dollar a day. Me: $1 per day = $365-66 a year/CarShield $100 a month = $1200 a year. My money's on EverythingBreaks.
they always get celebrities to do their dirty work that's why I tell people if you don't understand something fully don't get involved you carry around a computer every day and that's your cell phone do your own research

It is only necessary to make a monthly payment after repairs have been performed. After 6 monthly payments, You are good to go, until you need another repair!... This plan also covers Frequent Oil changes and new tires! It will cover "High-Mileage Vehicles, no limit! Sounds too good to be true, Right?...😃 Easy-peasy!! Just apply for an account with Firestone or any other shop of your choice..... Why in the hell are folks getting talked in to buying repair insurance on their cars? Looks like a "slippery slope" to me...
On one video they said that they would pay for your flywheel but not for any of the labor to take your car apart and put it back together. If you advance your motor with a wrench you can get past broken gears on the flywheel. and then you can start your car. It is a big job but if you watch the Right video on RUclips on how to do it and you have the tools to do it it can be done.

beautifully said if you could pay them on a monthly basis you could put that money in your account on a monthly basis don't that make sense

Thanks for the input! We found something similar in our research. If you have any first hand experience, we'd love to hear it too.
Car Shield is a beguiled. This bastard should be removed from business and also shame on the actors who do the advertising for Car Shield on TV
