So true haha 😂 but I kinda get it since most of the food places in Katipunan are really expensive haha. In a sense, that range is already budget-friendly compared to other restos in that area hehe

@@thornados4969 Di lahat actually. Majority yes. Mga normal na vlog. Mga poverty p*rnstars for example.
You may notice that other Korean vloggers blur out the faces of strangers in their videos or do their best not to include them completely, because that is a part of their video-taking etiquette. I know Filipinos are different from Koreans in that most Filipinos are okay with being spontaneously put in the spotlight or seen in the background of a video, but there are still certain people who have legitimate privacy concerns. So I understand if that woman had to speak to the crew at 4:39 because maybe she has a son/daughter whose identity she wants to protect.

Jessica, please keep up this series. It's really good since you get the recommendations from locals. Im sure this will become big as you go visit more places. Reminds me a little of the Singaporean series called Food King.
Tip lng pra di ka palagi narereject Jessica. They get intimidated when you say "interview", instead just say "Can I ask you some questions?" Pg interview kasi ineexpect nila mahaba, pg mgtatanong lng mahirap mareject 😆
@@vincentnin1 Of course, if he/she is concerned about getting filmed then it doesnt matter what you say 😁 but there were a few times where she was rejected because they were in a hurry or just couldnt be bothered. Good choice of words and phrasing makes a big difference when talking to someone. People in the BPO industry and customer service knows this well. "Can we do an interview with you?" feels like it will take more than 5 mins, while "Can we ask you some question/s?" sounds like it will only take less than a minute.
The woman who demanded not to be filmed certainly not the typical character of a Filipino who's courteous and kind especially to Foreigners,I can feel the tension like it's really not about the minor but it's seems she acted like she was hiding from someone. Nice episode again Jessica! Good job in exploring different places. I hope you can try to travel to Manila around the university belt. There are like 5 universities (correct me if I'm wrong) there, from España to Mendiola. So there are a lot of good places to eat specially budget friendly ones. The ones near UST and FEU I think are the best ones. PS. Just please search about the place first before going to some areas, Manila is a crowded one. 😅 Some places are not meant to be explored at night if you know what I mean. I've stayed in Manila for almost 15 yrs, as a student and when I already was working.

I think some of them refused to be interviewed because they think that you will ask them hard questions, specially if they don't know you . So I think it's better to ask for a food recommendation right away .. love your gums Jessica 😍😍😍
I just dont get food business managers or owners that has bizarre sense of paranoia as if inaapi sila kapag tinatanong sila ng food questions sa store nila, why be defensive? or gusto nila "prim and proper" na ii inform sila na me vlogger na darating sa lugar nila for interview days in advance?

I really like this episode~! I'm actually intimidated to go to Katipunan restos because I think they'd be super expensive but seeing the prices now, I think I can finally go HAHAHAHA IF just to meet with friends though but not weekly because the price is still up There shshhshha. Also, I don't think that the woman who approached them is a Karen (based on what they included in the video). She had a fierce attitude, yes, but I think her saying that she doesn't want her child to be included in the frame at all is fair because it's their privacy. She would've been a Karen if she asked Jessica and the others to leave the premises and threw a tantrum, but she didn't. The real Karen of PH is that one man who screamed derogatories at a McDonald's service crew, though I'm not sure if everyone has seen that already. But anyway, good content as always! I hope I could bump into Jessica one day so I could recommend food restos also~
Yes I agree to one of the comment here. That girl(tita)is not invading her privacy in the first place and Jessica is not making a 360 degree angle inside the store to show what’s inside/looks like,so what is her problem?.. just ignore her Jessica because there are Filipinos/foreigners also who has attention deficit, and I can’t believe the way she acted. Is she really a minor…well I don’t think so because that’s not a voice of a minor child,it’s like an adult woman already!😂😂

@@jah.mullens 295 is almost proper restaurant levels na mas mura pa sa marugame udon or even sa yabu chicken katsu nila almost ganyan price complete pa with sides and unlimited rice yun kalokohan price ng hawker group na yan.
Shout out to those students who gave time and suggest good foodies to Jessica! Thank you guys because you are all a big help! Respect also to you Jessica for handling unexpected encounter (quite strict people) while doing this vlog! Kuddos to your very smart and honest reviews! Well done! Good job Jess!

The good thing about Jessica's series ay ipinapaalam nya sa may-ari na magsu-shoot Siya ng vlog. . Aww. Jessica's vlogs are always amazing. .
Love you Jess. Stay safe and healthy always. 😘💙💗💙
She can get into a lot of legal trouble kung nagkataon kasi pag di siya nagpaalam. I'm not saying gagawin yun nung shop owners, pero you never know kung anong tumatakbo sa isip ng ibang tao pag nakakita ng vlogger.
I thought it was Hawker Chan (did my best Googling lol). 😅 I feel you with being shy during interviewing but you do it awesomely though. The vibe is jolly and sparkly, I'd say. The best milkshake I've had was Nagasaki Milkshake. ^^ Bangus Sisig is also delicious. Anyways, keep being fantastic, Jessica! ✨😊
Jessica, please keep up this series. It's really good since you get the recommendations from locals. Im sure this will become big as you go visit more places. Reminds me a little of the Singaporean series called Food King.
Tip lng pra di ka palagi narereject Jessica. They get intimidated when you say "interview", instead just say "Can I ask you some questions?" Pg interview kasi ineexpect nila mahaba, pg mgtatanong lng mahirap mareject 😆
she had like 3 ppl with cameras 😅
@@vincentnin1 Of course, if he/she is concerned about getting filmed then it doesnt matter what you say 😁 but there were a few times where she was rejected because they were in a hurry or just couldnt be bothered. Good choice of words and phrasing makes a big difference when talking to someone. People in the BPO industry and customer service knows this well. "Can we do an interview with you?" feels like it will take more than 5 mins, while "Can we ask you some question/s?" sounds like it will only take less than a minute.
Maybe she can even be more direct and ask "Can I ask about your favorite food in Katipunan?" so they know what it's going to be about
agree
The woman who demanded not to be filmed certainly not the typical character of a Filipino who's courteous and kind especially to Foreigners,I can feel the tension like it's really not about the minor but it's seems she acted like she was hiding from someone. Special scene Ka talaga ate with captions pa🤨
Hi! I'm a fan of the series! Would like to make a suggestion lang sana 'cause I thought it'd be nice to include maybe a link to all the restau's social accounts or something in the description box? For those people who aren't from there lol, like me 😆 Just an idea tho! Can't wait for the next one
I love this series so much pero please be careful when walking around in the streets. Always have situational awareness po. Ingat lagi.

True, napaka rude. I didn’t like it too. That’s how she represents the Filipino people, shame on you Starr’s
@@sunnydiego619 i think hindi siya staff ng starrs, isang feelingerang karen na customer lang din ata na may mga kasamang minor daw, and rude niya makisuyo

5 minutes into the video and here’s hoping someone recommended Chubby Chicken to Jessica! It’s my favorite chicken place back when I was still studying in UP. Kinda sad I haven’t been there since graduating in 2020 :(
EDIT: it wasn’t included 😭😭😭
Nice episode again Jessica! Good job in exploring different places. I hope you can try to travel to Manila around the university belt. There are like 5 universities (correct me if I'm wrong) there, from España to Mendiola. So there are a lot of good places to eat specially budget friendly ones. The ones near UST and FEU I think are the best ones.
PS. Just please search about the place first before going to some areas, Manila is a crowded one. 😅 Some places are not meant to be explored at night if you know what I mean. I've stayed in Manila for almost 15 yrs, as a student and when I already was working.
Nakakatuwa naman 😊 Never regret that I've watched this vlog. Anyway, new subscriber here po 😊💕
@@rdu239 PR management 101. You don't ambush anyone whose livelihood can be at stake because of a bad answer. Plus, madaming prank videos out there that will make comedy clips out of interview answers. It's hard to trust content creators in a low trust society.
Not "student" budget-friendly for me. If you go to University Belt area, you'll find budget friendly eats there.
Chinatown (Binondo) food prices are sometimes cheaper than this and it's considered a tourist spot (tourist spots = higher prices stereotype).
But it's good to explore good eats around Metro Manila (and hopefully provinces)

Hi Beautiful Jessica you only tasted most of the food in Luzon. You should try the Food of the Southern Visaya we also have delicious food where you haven't had the chance to taste. I know you are familiar of the food of Bacolod, you should try the Bisayan food also. Just my opinion. Have a "Merry "Christmas & a happy New Year Jessica"

I can still remember your pre-entrance exam vlogs, with Ateneo as one of your preferences. You have that Atenista vibe for me. If you visited a few years earlier (mid-late2010s), you'd definitely encounter a lot of Atenean go-to restos that unfortunately closed.. anyways hope you enjoyed the Katip food crawl! 😁
I really like the series. I've been listing the places that where highly recommended by the locals and you as well. This will be possible places to go if I ever get to go around the area.
Great episode! It was great seeing you explore the local hotspots for uni students and giving your honest verdict.

But all kidding aside, this is not to throw shade or cast aspersions on that tita. Maybe she didn't realize that she was being kinda demanding.
At any rate, I would wager that the white dip you got for those wedges (thick-cut fries) was probably a variant of the Garlic Ranch dip that is typically served with Shakey's mojo potatoes.
