I flashed his name at the beginning of the ride along but I may have thrown it up there too quickly. It's still mind boggling to me at the skill levels some of these kid racers have at such a young age, I'd be a lot more confident out on the roads these days if every 17 year old could drive like Ethan lol! Couldn't have met a nicer guy and I'm looking forward to seeing what he's able to accomplish behind the wheel in the future.
I don't know if they need a K20 in this size car,... but maybe in a sandrail? K20 Turbo in a rail would be cool.. I want to build one of these with a 1000cc street bike engine.

It's so sad to see what Honda has become now that Mr. Honda died. Back then in the 80's, 90's and the early 2000 you worth shit if you didn't race a Honda, everybody wanted to on Team Honda. Their products won every shootout in every magazine, and I raced motocross 12yrs, mostly on a Honda, to see what Honda has become, its beyond sickening.

Literally just bought my firdt off road toy! Thanks to this video! 2024 talon 1000x live valve. First day an half already put 100 milea and first service! Love it, my friends have xp1000, pro xp, tyrx se es and this talon hangs with them all!
That is a badass SXS--love the paint job. Now if Honda updated the current Talon with just some of its features, especially the suspension, they could compete with Can-am and Polaris.
Ohhh yeah, she's a bad one for sure and I'm with you on that color scheme - it looks AWESOME! They need to offer up something similar on a stock Talon, I think it'd sell like hot cakes. I like your thinking there as the suspension on this thing blew my mind! I'd wager that the suspension alone on this thing costs more than a new Talon though lol! The LV suspension on the R4 I got to rip in the trails and experience out on the massive track, was nice. Could it have been a bit better in certain areas? 100%. But how much more can we add to the price tag before it doesn't make sense, so it's a slippery slope for sure. With that being said though, I would like to see Honda jump into a battle with some of the big $$ units from Polaris and Can Am when it comes to suspension, horsepower etc. Appreciate ya watching and jumping in the conversation too ;)

lol yeaaaah buddy, I was WIRED after that! Like I said, somebody definitely thought that through on when to do the ride-alongs and when to turn us loose in the Talons as we would've hands down, pushed them a LOT harder. Especially after seeing what the pro driver did on track with us riding passenger in a stock Talon 1000R-4 after we drove them, we were all like - yeah, we didn't push them hard enough lol! I'm still pinching myself, truly an experience of a lifetime and I can't say thank you enough to you guys as without your support - I wouldn't get to continue playing with what I love and getting to call it "work". Experiences like this make the 7 day work week and unending stress for the past two years while trying to make this sustainable, worth it. I'm still a long ways from it and may only have a few months left before I have to hang this up and find a "real job" if views don't pick up but I'm not going down without a fight. Honda has lost it’s way. Atc 250R, TRX 250 & 450R. They use to make some of the best machines in the business. Today they make nothing high performance and can’t seem to even build the models they do have. It’s a sad day to be a Honda fan and have been for life but honestly i have started looking at a replacement for my Pioneer and it doesn’t look like it will be a Honda.

Ohhh yeah! The only thing that would make it more awesome... is me, behind the wheel lol! I've always loved off-road racing, rally racing etc and had huge respect for the skill they've got but this ride gave me an entirely different insight into the insane skills these guys have behind the wheel. Ripping through those tight wooded areas with the trees flying by so fast and the margin for error being practically 0 and one little slip-up could turn things badly, real quick - but they are full throttle, it's crazy! Definitely an experience everyone should have as a lot of think we're pretty decent behind the wheel but riding with a pro in their element - reminds you there's different levels to this stuff and they're about 100 steps ahead of all of us lol! As always, really appreciate ya taking the time to watch and helping to support all of this bud ;)

I don't want to ruffle any feathers so I'm just going to laugh a bit and leave it there bud ;) On that note though, it would be an interesting move to see them throw some 2 wheeled guys in 4 wheeled machines and flip flop them - just to see the difference in lap times etc. I've seen them do that in some other race series and it was pretty interesting to see racers outside of their "specialty" and how some were able to keep pace, despite being outside of their wheelhouse so-to-say. They need make the r model 72inch and 20 plus travel make it longer with more room in the cab better steering wheel better tech get rid the 90s stuff give it better seats that you can even lean back some factor harnesses be nice factor radio system. Give it 30s to 32 inch tires and make them and rims same size. Give it 12 to 13 gallon gas tank. Give it a real bed. Give the transmission 7th gear and put the cbr1000rr motor with high qt and 130 plus hp. And beef up the frame a lot tubing small. IT YOU SEE THIS HONDA YOU WOULD SALE ALOT OF THEM.. like I’ve had 4 different r models and I sale them ever time and went back to the rzr pro xp the last Honda I had was 23 r model sold it and went with the rzr turbo r and that thing is beefy and bad to the bone.. Honda steep up there game to something beefy and hp like the turbo r. I’d go back to you Honda…… AND PLEASE PLEASE GET RID OF THE THROTTLE CABLE AND GO WITH THROTTLE BYWIRE 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
Yessir, 6 speed DCT transmission so there are no belts etc. That's a huge part of the fun for me is being able to bang through the gear, definitely bumps the fun factor up a notch!
I just bought a 1000R but am wanting to get a turbo for it. Every dealer I’ve talked to doesn’t have the capability to put it on. Where could I go to get one and have it installed? I live in Illinois.
When it came to dirt bikes it's been all Honda. Kawasaki and Yamaha made good stuff, but nothing like a Honda. Even today I have a RZR 900 and I am thinking of moving up, if I do it will be a Talon for certain.
Nice to hear from some owners so thanks for jumping in! I do have to disagree slightly there though bud when it comes to the "not even close to competitors" when it comes to horsepower as they are within a few ponies of the guys that they are trying to battle it out with, in the NA sport segment (not counting the new 4 banger from Polaris). But yeah, they're not even in the same ballgame when it comes to the factory turbo units out there and I'd LOVE to see them give that segment a legitimate try. And if they don't want to offer a factory turbo unit pushing some real horsepower, throw a K20 in it and be done lol! They could improve some more when it comes to suspension, to which they have since it was released originally but as with anything - it could be better. On the handling side of things, that's going to be a big opinionated thing there as we all have different driving styles and preferences there so a lot of variables at play. Again, appreciate you jumping in the conversation and sharing your thoughts and thanks for watching too!
Sadly... from the little chit chats I had about that topic, it looks like getting back into the sport quad game isn't even a blip on their radar for the future - unless the market makes a HUGE change. Insert sad face here :( ...unless they are some of the best people on the planet at keeping secrets lol! On a positive note though, it wasn't only me questioning them as to the whole sport quad segment and how it's pretty much a joke to call them "sport quads" when you look at the model lineup since 2014. It was nice seeing Joe Tolle from ATV / UTV on Demand question it all and express his opinions on the topic and what's left when it comes to that segment etc. Long story short, I wouldn't hold my breathe but let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best ;) Appreciate ya watching and jumping in the conversation bud!

Hahahaha spot on bud! Hearing that he's more than half my age was crazy! Makes you wonder what they're feeding kids these days lol but when they're lucky to have parents get them involved into motorsports before they even hit double digits, it's no wonder that some of them with the drive to be #1, end up defying all odds and have insane skills before they can even "legally" drive.
Yessir, it was an absolute hoot! I still have to pinch myself that I was selling these a few years ago and dreamed of making it to these kinds of events and now I'm there! Honda has failed in the performance SXS market. Underpowered, underwhelming engine with crap handling on big whoops and jumps. Pro R and X3 just destroys the Talon. Hell, I see more KRX's in the wild compared to Talons.
Oh yeah, the Talon is definitely too underpowered to compete against some of the big dogs but... and as much as I don't want to say it as I would LOVE to see Honda bring out the big guns so-to-say, because they could - but I don't think they want to. There are very few segments, when looking at cars, motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs etc where Honda strives to compete against their competition in a horsepower battle and I think that follows suit here. While I don't 100% agree with it, I can see why some of their reasoning behind not doing so, makes sense. With that being said though, I want Honda to up their game and release some big $$ units to compete against those units at the top of the sport UTV segment and here's to hoping we see them dive into it in the near future. Seeing a N/A K20 at 200hp and something like the turbo K20C1 etc at 300hp thrown in a Talon would be INSANE and a game changer! I wouldn't be able to afford one but hey, I'd love to rip in it lol! Apples and oranges man. Talons are built to win the N/A class at Baja and they do just that. I don’t think you’ll see factory boosted machines from any of the Japanese manufacturers any time soon.
What I'm getting at is the normal buyer, not racers.... the normal consumer. If you load up 4 grown adults in a talon 4 seat you're definitely not going to be able to dune where all the other stock machines can dune. Very limited. I think the talon is great. But unfortunately all the other brands sell more for the simple fact of plenty of horse power when needed. Having said that, I'd still choose a Talon, just wish they had more power.
So are u guys gona complete with the others or just set back and watch the side by side industry pass honda by ! Come on honda get it together!! I'd spend 35 to 38k for a bad ass hond turbo built to smack polaris or can am in the face

Dont need to see inside of SxS while on track. Outside camaras showing course and Trail camaras work better.

On that note though, it would be an interesting move to see them throw some 2 wheeled guys in 4 wheeled machines and flip flop them - just to see the difference in lap times etc. I've seen them do that in some other race series and it was pretty interesting to see racers outside of their "specialty" and how some were able to keep pace, despite being outside of their wheelhouse so-to-say.

They need make the r model 72inch and 20 plus travel make it longer with more room in the cab better steering wheel better tech get rid the 90s stuff give it better seats that you can even lean back some factor harnesses be nice factor radio system. Give it 30s to 32 inch tires and make them and rims same size. Give it 12 to 13 gallon gas tank. Give it a real bed. Give the transmission 7th gear and put the cbr1000rr motor with high qt and 130 plus hp. And beef up the frame a lot tubing small. IT YOU SEE THIS HONDA YOU WOULD SALE ALOT OF THEM.. like I’ve had 4 different r models and I sale them ever time and went back to the rzr pro xp the last Honda I had was 23 r model sold it and went with the rzr turbo r and that thing is beefy and bad to the bone.. Honda steep up there game to something beefy and hp like the turbo r. I’d go back to you Honda…… AND PLEASE PLEASE GET RID OF THE THROTTLE CABLE AND GO WITH THROTTLE BYWIRE 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼

Yessir, 6 speed DCT transmission so there are no belts etc. That's a huge part of the fun for me is being able to bang through the gear, definitely bumps the fun factor up a notch!
I just bought a 1000R but am wanting to get a turbo for it. Every dealer I’ve talked to doesn’t have the capability to put it on. Where could I go to get one and have it installed? I live in Illinois.
When it came to dirt bikes it's been all Honda. Kawasaki and Yamaha made good stuff, but nothing like a Honda. Even today I have a RZR 900 and I am thinking of moving up, if I do it will be a Talon for certain.
Own a Talon, like reliability and fun to drive but not even close to competitors in terms of suspension l, handling ,horses

I do have to disagree slightly there though bud when it comes to the "not even close to competitors" when it comes to horsepower as they are within a few ponies of the guys that they are trying to battle it out with, in the NA sport segment (not counting the new 4 banger from Polaris). But yeah, they're not even in the same ballgame when it comes to the factory turbo units out there and I'd LOVE to see them give that segment a legitimate try. And if they don't want to offer a factory turbo unit pushing some real horsepower, throw a K20 in it and be done lol! They could improve some more when it comes to suspension, to which they have since it was released originally but as with anything - it could be better. On the handling side of things, that's going to be a big opinionated thing there as we all have different driving styles and preferences there so a lot of variables at play.

Sadly... from the little chit chats I had about that topic, it looks like getting back into the sport quad game isn't even a blip on their radar for the future - unless the market makes a HUGE change. Insert sad face here :(

On a positive note though, it wasn't only me questioning them as to the whole sport quad segment and how it's pretty much a joke to call them "sport quads" when you look at the model lineup since 2014. It was nice seeing Joe Tolle from ATV / UTV on Demand question it all and express his opinions on the topic and what's left when it comes to that segment etc.
Long story short, I wouldn't hold my breathe but let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best ;)

Hahahaha spot on bud! Hearing that he's more than half my age was crazy! Makes you wonder what they're feeding kids these days lol but when they're lucky to have parents get them involved into motorsports before they even hit double digits, it's no wonder that some of them with the drive to be #1, end up defying all odds and have insane skills before they can even "legally" drive.

Honda has failed in the performance SXS market. Underpowered, underwhelming engine with crap handling on big whoops and jumps. Pro R and X3 just destroys the Talon. Hell, I see more KRX's in the wild compared to Talons.
And an F1 would slay a NASCAR. Two completely different classes of rigs.
Talon is too under powered to compete with the big dawgs... it's not even close... even with the turbo.... maybe soon honda will up their game...?
Oh yeah, the Talon is definitely too underpowered to compete against some of the big dogs but... and as much as I don't want to say it as I would LOVE to see Honda bring out the big guns so-to-say, because they could - but I don't think they want to. There are very few segments, when looking at cars, motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs etc where Honda strives to compete against their competition in a horsepower battle and I think that follows suit here. While I don't 100% agree with it, I can see why some of their reasoning behind not doing so, makes sense.
With that being said though, I want Honda to up their game and release some big $$ units to compete against those units at the top of the sport UTV segment and here's to hoping we see them dive into it in the near future. Seeing a N/A K20 at 200hp and something like the turbo K20C1 etc at 300hp thrown in a Talon would be INSANE and a game changer! I wouldn't be able to afford one but hey, I'd love to rip in it lol!

Honda isn’t interested in competing with the turbo machines. They are doing just fine is the NA segment which is where they want to be
Apples and oranges man. Talons are built to win the N/A class at Baja and they do just that. I don’t think you’ll see factory boosted machines from any of the Japanese manufacturers any time soon.
What I'm getting at is the normal buyer, not racers.... the normal consumer. If you load up 4 grown adults in a talon 4 seat you're definitely not going to be able to dune where all the other stock machines can dune. Very limited. I think the talon is great. But unfortunately all the other brands sell more for the simple fact of plenty of horse power when needed. Having said that, I'd still choose a Talon, just wish they had more power.
So are u guys gona complete with the others or just set back and watch the side by side industry pass honda by ! Come on honda get it together!! I'd spend 35 to 38k for a bad ass hond turbo built to smack polaris or can am in the face
I wouldn't go as far as to say the SxS industry is going to pass them by, just because they're not jumping in the big horsepower game with some of those big $$ units.
With that being said though, I would LOVE to see Honda jump into that segment and really give those top tier machines from Polaris and Can Am a run for their money! We all know they could IF they wanted to but... I don't think they want to. They are new to this segment though and if we know anything about Honda, they take their sweet time. So maybe they're wanting to put some more time into developing what they have and make sure it's all squared away, before trying to jump in their with the big dogs pushing crazy horsepower numbers so that way they can still keep thee reliability there that we've all come to love over all these decades with just about anything wearing the Honda badge.
