I just purchased this pattern yesterday and watched your video right now - omg! love this video!!! you do a wonderful job explaining every step and I can't wait to make this top! I especially like how you include instructions on how to hide the inside seam where the bodice meets the ruffle THANK YOU so much!
@@isainstitches I do have two questions now that I am working on my first top: 1. what were your measurements when drawing the lines for the darts 2. what is the seam allowance for the straps
@@monicamartin9493 you’ve probably already figured it out but the mark for the strap is where the notches are in the back. And the seam allowance for the 1cm. This is just what I did and it works, but don’t take my word
Thanks so much for being patient to help me! I finished downloading already! Love your video and pattern! Will try to make one for my daughter now! Thanks again!
Loved this pattern. It made a perfect top for a pair of pyjamas. So simple and quick to sew up but I probably wouldn't have managed if I were a beginner. Would have loved a set of written instructions with the pattern but the video was easy to follow.
Sure!! It's actually completely optional, it's just better for people who take patterned fabrics that have lines (like gingham), and "better" for the look of it :)
I just bought the pattern (: I was wondering, did you add the seam allowance + hem to the pattern or can i just cut the pattern as it is bc it is already there?
@@isainstitches Hi, on the pattern it says: Seam allovance: 1 cm, Hem: 2 cm but it doesn't say whether they are included or not. So the hem is included as well? Thanks for including the seam allowance, it makes it much easier!
@@DimmyChio Oh I see! I'm using the ruler at the darts to keep on respecting the seam allowance. If you don't you'll loose it as you get to the tips (It's hard to understand right now but I promise it'll make sense when you'll sew!)
I think I've been trying for a good 2 hours to figure out this 'sausage' technique with no success. Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. All the fabric gets stuck inside so I can't pull the parts I need out past the front of the bust.
Hi Georgia, you can watch my Kate tank top and my strap top tutorials for footage of the same method. If it's not enough type "burrito" method on RUclips, other angles and spoken explanations will hopefully help!

Thanks so much for your comment!! I like to go an extra bit to have elegant finishes even if we're pretty much the only ones to see them!

@isa in stitches sorry, I have another question, how do you mark where the straps go in the back?

It’s so pretty! May I ask why the straps are cut on the bias?

What is the seam allowance? I purchased the pattern but can’t seem to find the answer.
Hi there! It's 1 cm, written on the pattern itself ^^
I just bought the pattern (: I was wondering, did you add the seam allowance + hem to the pattern or can i just cut the pattern as it is bc it is already there?
The seam allowance is already included, 1 cm everywhere except at hem (you'll see it's written on the pattern)

Can i ask what the measurements were for the darts? 1cm?
Hi, sorry what do you mean by measurements for the darts? 1 cm would be the seam allowance
