@@tatianar9429 I get what you’re saying, you just said it in a very confusing way. It’s a Spanish word first and foremost, but it’s made its way into US English because of our proximity to Spanish speakers being in the Americas and all.
Fun fact about the first location: Nagoro is a slowly shrinking village located in the valleys of Shikoku, Japan. Its inhabitants left the village in a search of employment or died. Eleven years ago, Tsukimi Ayano returned home to Nagoro. Faced with loneliness, she has populated the village with dolls, each representing a former resident. About 350 life-size dolls currently reside in the village. The local school is now filled with a few dozen dolls patiently waiting for class to begin. Made of straw, the bizarre dolls are dressed in old clothes. Once working in the garden, Tsukimi made the first doll in the likeness of her father and then she came up with the idea to replace the other family members with similar dolls. 10 years later, her work continues. Every doll is located in the place where she would resemble that person. So strolling along the village you will find quite unique monuments either working in the field, fishing in the river or simply sitting along the road and starring at you.
@11:35 ive been to plitvice too, last summer. I recognized it immediately..REALLY beautiful and a lot of the lakes are much more blue then in this picture. Great collab guys!! Love to see it more often!!
Personally this is what I love about geoguessr. Before watching / playing the play along I was only feeling oh great it’s another zigzag video but nothing too special (I mean your vids are great tho!!) but playing all these rounds and looking at the hints made me realized the stories behind all the locations. It’s amazing and heartwarming to think about the human society like this, and that’s why I love the game!
Nice rounds. Aren't the Pripyat ferris wheel and the seed vault kind of iconic buildings though? For the ferris wheel one I kept thinking it's a bait and it is somewhere else thinking the Pripyat one must be way too obvious.
I actually recognized the Malta location from around 11 years ago where I was in Malta with my high school class. We were diving in the bay opposite the Popeye Village so we were never in the Popeye Village but very close. I remember that there were some music playing over and over again in the Popeye Village that we would be able to hear from the opposite side of the bay. I was actually kinda surprised I could recognize the location.
I knew about the first location from the show James May: Our Man in Japan. In the last episode he goes there and talks to the lady who makes all the dolls.
Insane guess on the Yucatán round! I am almost certain I’ve swam in that water hole. The second I saw it, I thought “if that is Yucatán I’ve been there”. Keep up the good work👍
This man is like the “leg batterij” of RUclips, so manny videos. ( a “leg batterij” is a place with thousands of chicken placed in a optimized way to get as much eggs as possible)
16:35 I was inside the seed vault about 10 years ago. Not very interesting, just racks with boxes with seeds in them. They chose the location for the stable all year cold temperature, and because it was already the entrance to a disused coal mine. They are however struggling now with melting permafrost which is happening way sooner than expected.
ahahah no way, the moeraki boulders are the new zealand timaru to dunedin 12 year old instagrammer spot of choice. crazy seeing them in a zi8gzag video, forget they're actually famous.
I've been in this Prypec place few years back, it's very recognizable location. it's first time in geoguesser I knew where it is in 1 second before zi8gzag ;)
I'm from Central Europe and I know a girl from my country who visited one of those caves ("cenotes") in Mexico. I immediately recognized Mexico and when you wanted to go somewhere in Europe for a moment, I was shocked 😂 One of those rare moments when I know something that zi8gzag doesn't 😀
The Popeye movie came out in 1980; I kept hearing "1918" lol.... Also "cenote" has all of the vowels pronounced, as it's Spanish. I've been in that cenote actually haha - 9 years ago. It's extremely touristy.
Honestly a bit surprised that zig can think there might be any bays in California which look as pretty as that Popeye/Malta round. Also a bit surprised given he's aware of Baja California that he didn't twig Bajada would most likely be the Spanish language.
Im from Croatia, and I first thought that might be Plitvicka Jezera, cause I visited it, but you were like its Korea and I changed my mind like yep must be 😂
That Malta switch was wild! And that bait in plivice with a group of asian(?) tourists was fantastic 😂 Ive been there many years ago and if the coverage was early summer I probably would've recognized it.
How has no one said the "50,000 people used to live here. Now it's a ghost town" line for the Pripyat round? My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
They were moved including surrounding villages, but a lot of them come back 1 year after Chernobyl incident and lived there until end of their lives ( Im talking about this surrounding villages). Funny thing is that its still radioactive area, but most of these people lived there until their 70 or over 80 years old. I met some of them few years back, but I think most of them already passed away.
Was really fun doing this with you again! 😄
Hello!
pause
Nice to have you back on Zi8gzag’s channel Peter, been a hot minute!
"I do not know what bajada means" Could it possibly mean the same as "step down" that's written on the same sign? 😅
I came here to comment the same thing 🤦♂️😂
xD
funnily enough, bajada is English. Of Spanish origin.

Worth noting, she's not the only resident, there were 27 people in 2019.
Fun fact: Bolivia used to have a coast line until it was all ceded to Chile in the late 1800s

I can finally say call of duty taught me something. As soon as I saw the Ferris wheel I knew it was Pripyat
my first thought as well haha
I've seen videos from people scouting there, immediately recognize that too.
Love this! Glad to see Peter back on the channel!
As said in the comments section of Peter's video. Fun collaboration hope to see more of this content
This brings back the nostalgia! Love the collab between you two.
Why does GeoPeter look like Aphex Twin on thumbnail?

Yooooo another geopeter zi8gzag collab!! I discovered you for the first time 2 years ago through your collabs with Peter and the rest is history!!
Nice rounds.

That doll village was something else!! Very nice collab with Peter!
07:57 Kladovyshche means cemetery btw
OMG i have been too the location at #3 it was so cool to see and instantly recognizable lol 4:58

Good fun and nice collab!! I blew that Croatia trekker badly too by going Japan, haha
Two of my favorite players. Zig8Zag, you remind me of watching Kath & Kim.

We call them battery hens in English too.
woow i didnt expect a collab with ed sheeran, youre really growing :DD
Fifty thousand people used to live here, now it's a ghost town.
I have been to that Popeye village in Malta... It is pretty interesting
The Bolivia one, with the exception of the blue sky, was completely sepia toned/greyscale. Very weird to look at.
It reminded me of Namibia.
Edit: spelling
Like the collabs with Peter

Hey Lois
ahahah no way, the moeraki boulders are the new zealand timaru to dunedin 12 year old instagrammer spot of choice. crazy seeing them in a zi8gzag video, forget they're actually famous.
also after watching the video I only just noticed the dolls in the japan loc WTFFF, wondered why there was just a random japan loc in there
The Ottoman Empire are not an ancient civilization by any means
fun collab as always
I’m surprised he didn’t get the Yucatán one faster or even instantly 😂
I've been in this Prypec place few years back, it's very recognizable location. it's first time in geoguesser I knew where it is in 1 second before zi8gzag ;)
the Asian tourists at plitvice completely through me off too, and i've been there...

Fun map, thanks for sharing!
An Australian criticising lakes??? What has this world come to??? :D
The 2 of them not knowing what a cenote is was killing me
I have been to the plitvischen meren and recognized it :)
I immediately recognized that ferris wheel from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Call of Pripyat
so many cool locations!
I love your videos so much!

I actually knew that first japan one, down to within 5km. I saw a video on it like last year and randomly remembered where it was on the map
enjoyed, would watch again

3:37 Bro tried to line up the sand angle
A Indo chicken church, and the correct pronounciation of Chichen-itza!
I recognized the popeye movie set immediately!
OMG!!! the last round i knew exactly where it was because i’ve been there before 🤣
13:32 I went there 2 weeks ago, its so sick
I've been to a cenote like that in Yucatan when I stayed in Cancun. I don't know if it was that exact one tho.
No way on the Malta one as soon as I saw the image I knew it was Malta!
interesting! love your videos
Is there no railroad connecting Argentina to one of the ports in Chile?
13:13 I also live in Kaunas! 👋
Im from Croatia, and I first thought that might be Plitvicka Jezera, cause I visited it, but you were like its Korea and I changed my mind like yep must be 😂
Ottoman empire is my favorite ancient civilization
Hello! "kladovyshe" in Ukrainian means cemetery
The Japanese town in the first location was actually on German TV
Yo bro, moais are my thing! 🗿
Yeah! A new video from my favourite Geoguessr-ytber ❤
Very enjoyable video
Zigzag #1
I'm from Croatia and have been to Plitvička jezera a couple of times and still didn't get it
after hint i immiedietly got Croatia round as it was also irl reapeat for me
Great concept, but I'm ngl: Spoiling the country in the description took a lot of the fun away from it for me.
oops fixed that
@@zi8gzag Cool, then I can play the rest of the challenges!
@@zi8gzag It would also be helpful if the hints were ordered in terms of the rounds. They are shuffled ;)
