I think bro understands the ‘rules’ so much that he doesn’t really understand skateboarding or fun in anyway. He only abstractly understands why others like it. It’s fine and valid to point out toe drags, manual scrapes and bad b-roll but crying over ride on grinds because they are popular is so dumb, like imagine if someone was whining over tre flips or tail slides bc they are too popular. Not understanding the noseblunt ‘nothing’ is crazy too, dude just did something creative and different but since it doesn’t fit into ninjas lil rule book he can’t appreciate it.
He failed a noseblunt nollie heel. Ride on grinds are the de evolution of skating. I know the new gens want the whole sport to become a participation medal but there are a few people out there who have been watching and rating videos for 25 years who expect more than low skill and slow mo jewelry footage. Want a skillful video with a comedic vibe? Watch man down and get back to me

Devolution is a stretch, not every vid needs to be boundary pushing with quad kinks, there is a place for that skating and for this skating, if you prefer quad kinks more that’s fine. Nah it’s not even a participation medal thing, people are just enjoying being a part of skateboarding. The people who get paid the top $ are either the best, most marketable, or have the most fans for their style, creativity, or charisma. You are right about all skill levels being involved, what’s wrong with that they are prob just stoked to skate with their friends. I think that makes it enjoyable & a separate thing from a traditional skate vid, more like a homie vid, which invokes the same feeling as watching your homies on the sesh different skill set / levels but when you see something cool, clean or someone step out of their comfort zone that’s exciting. Yes other vids have executed this better but again I don’t think that’s Dimes goal here. You can call it low effort but I don’t think a community based brand would care.
I’ve watched Man Down plenty of times (probably been a few years so this is a good reminder to rewatch) That vid is a classic, is this Dime Video a classic, no but The Dime Video (2016) is.

7:27, it's the Big 0. it was moved a couple years ago, from next to the Olympic Stadium. Legendary spot, there's even a book written about it. I'm a bit biased because I'm from Montreal (and I like Alexis Lacroix's style) but the Underworld skaters (also from a shop like Dime), back in the day were stronger.

I feel like if it's genuinely entertaining and just sprinkled in, I don't mind some of the clips. But you're right tho, hella over done in this and clips lasting way too long. I do appreciate a few sprinkles of b-roll or some good falls, like the one that caught you laughin'. Can't hate on this vid entirely though cuz there were some bangers, but cut out half that crap, and if theyre still butthurt about that, release another vid and call it (the cinematic/extended cut), I feel like companies could make a nice chunk of change doing this. Make the "skate video" nothing but action, maybe a few memorable falls, and then their artsy fartsy shit can be the cinematic cut, for the people that enjoy that stuff.
