I swear, Gamera 99's Plasma Fist attack is a reference to the Bakunetsu God Finger attack from Mobile Fighter G Gundam.
I'm glad I picked up Gamers 96 back when it came out. I didn't much for the look of 99. But I have been considering 95 just for the spinning effect pieces.
Tbh DiegoDoom, when I found out there was gonna be a decisive battle Gamera and Iris Figure releasing next year, I was just like: "OH HECK NAH! I NEVER KNEW THERE WAS MORE GAMERA ACTION FROM S.H. MONSTERARTS! I'M SO PICKING THOSE UP!"
Man hopefully it doesn’t mess up the teeth like the old 1999 gamera figure

Literally what I need! I really like Gamera but Bandai did shitty things with different accessories for each figure.

I've got all 3 and I cannot wait for the 2 new ones though I hope they won't be overpriced. I've also got the revoltech versions love them too.
I own 1996 Legion version and 1999 Irys version; I missed out/skipped the 1995 release due to, issues financially and opinionated via earlier releases. My '96 has been used and abused but still articulates great while '99 is stiff as a rock (not in the bad way; just never posed him much). If I can find a '95 for a reduced, reasonable decent price then I would consider purchasing especially for the spinning effect parts and I agree with your statement. However there's hope via the Netflix Gamera anime, the newer '99 plus Irys (which I am considering) or future releases especially in the Showa era, maybe. Great review DiegoDoom as always!

I enjoy my 1999 Gamera. Even if the teeth are messy, the rest of the body sculpt is nice. The shell especially looks amazing with the battle damaged detailing.
I definitely want a Gamera 1999 figure, but I'll wait for the new upcoming version.
Fingers crossed the Iris figure hits all the right marks, I would love a figure of that beast!
Wait on 99 for sure.
I'm hoping we get more Gamera kaiju, as well as the Showa version. Holding out for Gyaos, Zedus, Legion, and Toto

I have the '96 because I bought it new. The others look great and since I've got a big 'ol plasma fireball piece, I'm tempted to get at least one more. I'd be happy with either one.
Now wondering if this video should get an update replacing this 1999 figure with the re-release and adding the 2023 figure. In Steven's Toy Reviews' review of 2023 Gamera, he ended it by having all four posed up with ninja turtle weapons, which I think I just might do if I ever get the money.

I think the gamera 1996 is the best with 99 being a close runner up. I like how the 96 capture the eyes and kind of goofy showa era of gamera but still had the hardened look of the new generation thay was fully realized in the 1999 version. So it was a good blend of the 2

1996: All-around best package
1999: Worst by far, there’s a reason the new version coming next year is essentially a total overhaul.
1995: Second best. Probably the most accurate to the respective original film.

I really want to get all three especially Grandma 99 if they're going to be releasing it with some modifications then I'll just simply wait for it. Who knows maybe one day I'll be able to get lucky and get Gamera 96 and get that awesome plasma ball effect.
In all honesty, I would want the 1999 version of Gamera mainly the upcoming new version with Iris. I love how ferocious Gamera looks since it deviates the most from the friendly look of his previous designs, what's cool is that it wont look too out of place if he sit next to Monsterverse Godzilla. So I say, Gamera 1999!

@@DiegoDoom do legendary or 95 styled godzillas (i guess rebirth and the og sh monsterarts godzilla would be in the same category...). There's a lot of those two.
I have the one from the 2nd movie and one day his left foot decided to randomly pop off and it refuses to go back on I have tried off and on for several years to get it to reattach.
I finally got the foot back on only for the right leg to decide to pop off,because the ball joints are constantly moving while I try to apply pressure to snap it back into place it also refuses to reattach.
Then to foot came off again because apparently it wasn't secure enough.
Excellent content. 1996 for me all day long. Cannot wait for Mecha King Ghidorah!

@DiegoDoom awesome can't wait & congrats. I ended up pre-ordering Mazinkaiser by Sky Studio I believe same scale as CCSTOYS and the aesthetics looks a lot like Sentinel. Did you also pre-order?
I personally have 1999 and 1996. Which I got both for free. 1999 because it was sealed and missing the end of its tail and 1996 because I traded a Godzilla Birth Ver. for it and Godzilla 2019 Poster Ver.
Ouch, that Gamera 99 is weakest of the three by far.
The other two, I’d be more than happy with.
Probably would go for the first 96 Gamera though, as it looks less cartoony than the other version.
Gamera 95 dos have a lot of cool accessories though.
The SHMA Iris looks sexy af. Now all we have to do is wait for them to make a Legion figure.
Also I’m kinda hoping that the new Gamera would have the battle damaged stomach region from when Iris impaled him but they probably won’t 💀

I got unlucky with my 1999 gamera because the joints suck and the tail/arms always fall off, to the point where I lost an arm piece, if any of you guys have replacements or know anyone who does have replacements please tell me 😢
