Jill...I am 66, 13 years ago I got the stage 2 diagnosis and lymph node positive report. Chemo, radiation and 2 months after treatment....gall bladder surgery. You have got this. I have lived to see my children married and the births of 3 beautiful granddaughters. I thank God each night for another day of life. You are in my prayers....I have a warriors list....

My Mom is a 12-year Stage 4 Breast Cancer Survivor 💗. She had a Double mastectomy and Chemo. The Chemo nearly killed her. She lost her hair and a massive amount of weight and energy. It was heartbreaking to watch her go through that period of time. Today she is STRONGER 💪🏾 for it.
To All of the Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Friends....May God grant you the Courage, the Wisdom and the Strength to continue your journey. 💗🙏🏾💗💪🏾

I am a 13 year survivor....and treatment and anti estrogen therapy have done a number on my body. But, I have lived to see both of my children married and the birth of 3 beautiful granddaughters. It takes strength each morning to face the day....but having another day of life no matter how bad my body looks and feels is priceless. Hugs to your mother. Fight on

Jill, I saw you on the show long before I expected you to be back because I knew your mastectomy is BIG surgery in many, many ways. I am a 2-time survivor with unrelated breast cancers, but it is hard and I am proud of you for admitting that. I worked full time as a college professor during chemo, and it was hard; but I wanted to because I wanted my students to see a survivor, not a victim. You are a wonderful example for others, and I’m loving you and praying for you. e

I had a double mastectomy at 33. I am 55 now. It was extremely hard and I didn't even need chemo but I watched my mom and 2 sister go through it. I carry the brca gene but didn't find out about it until many years after my mastectomy. I would have gotten tested but could not afford it. 3 of us have the gene, 2 died from breast/ovarian. So, in my family, my mom, aunt, and my 3 sisters have had it. Jill is right, get tested. Because that gene may lead to ovarian as well which is why I had my ovaries taken out.

Jill, first I'm sorry you have to go through this, cancer sucks. As a non hodgkin's lymphoma cancer survivor, this will forever change you, in so many ways, good and bad. You are in the thick of it at the moment but it will get better. But i can feel your fear and acknowledge it, I know how real it is. Medicine is amazing today, our doctors and nurses are our warriors. But also rely on your spiritual side. I remember my brain being so fried after chemo that when I laid in bed the only thing I could pray was the Our Father, I would silently pray it over and over. I needed it to put myself to sleep. I had two young daughters and an amazing husband to live for (truly the test of for better or worse, he passed). When I was diagnosed, I felt like there were two paths and I chose the positive road. But there were so many emotionally hard days. Every time my bloodwork was off a little, i was convinced, this it, I am going to die. But i learned more and got through it. But as I progressed through two years of treatment, I got stronger and made it. Count your blessings you live in NYC with amazing doctors, I am in Chicago with the brilliant minds at University of Chicago Cancer Hospital. We are the lucky ones, I realize how messed up our health system is throughout this country. Thankfully you have the best of the best. Stay strong and cry when you need to. I will be praying for you. Annette

I was supposed to have 2 types of chemo, but because they carved out so much, I didn’t need the first version. After an echocardiogram, we found out that I had a heart attack that I never knew about. I’m no longer eligible for the 2nd chemo. I just finished radiation, but had complications. I see the end of the tunnel now, almost a year later. Keep fighting!

Jill, I loved you before, but WOW you are an incredible woman! My Mother lived through stage 3 breast cancer with the Nu2u gene. After a mastectomy (yep 1) and they refused to replace them. They would only replace one....so she opted for a weighted bra on that side for the rest of her life. She was 50 when she was diagnosed and once she was clear it never returned. I remember having everyone that knew her send hats to cover her cold head in the Green Bay winters. She kept all of those hats long after she battled cancer. She died at 73 just couple months ago (not from cancer). I will be 50 my next birthday so right around her age when she was diagnosed. I have been getting mammograms/ultrasounds twice yearly since I was 40. I have gotten my genetic testing and undergone a hysterectomy. I do have BRACA gene and will be getting a double mastectomy to go ahead and avoid what seems to be the inevitable. I have been married for over 20 years and have 6 adult children, that is not worth messing with. :) I have one older sister (54) and she is refusing to get the genetic test. My mom has 4 sisters and they too have all had cancer and they can't talk her into it. But after watching you in your braids with all of your honesty, I am going to back your segment in my laptop to watch with her on our next get together. I am going to challenge her to get checked while we watch you get better.

Being a stage, one breast cancer survivor, I am having all the same feelings and crying and being in shock. I know for a fact that you will survive this, and you will be fine. I owe my healing to my good Lord, my Saint Jude, and my blessed mother that was my first team. He is the first and only true healer, and if you go on this journey, believing that you will heal, your doctors are the second part of this journey, listen to them take good care of yourself and give yourself downtime and be kind to yourself because it’s nothing that we did. I never thought of myself as a strong woman until I went through breast cancer. I wasn’t strong to start, but I did get strong, praying for you, the club that none of us wanted to be in, God bless you make awesome plans for the future because you’ll get there !! God bless🙏🏻🙏🏻

Both my mom and my sister are survivors of breast cancer. And due to my family history, I am getting all the tests I need every year - the mammogram and the MRI. Luckily our gene test came out negative but since the cause is likely hormonal, I’m also on the medication Tamoxifen as a precautionary measure.
I hope more research can someday produce a cure for this horrible disease.
    Wishing Jill all the best!

So wonderful of you to share. Please be careful around COVID too - it’s really surging and a good mask is helpful.
