  • Strv-122 is a Swedish main battle tank that, like the German Leopard 2A5, is based on the enhanced German Leopard 2, incorporating newer technologies such as command, control, and fire-control systems, stronger armor, and long-term fighting capacity.

First, the Strv 122 lacks of the long barreled powerful L55 main gun of the Leopard A6 and A7 variants . Therefore the Strv 122 ist more likely the most armoured but not the most capable Leopard variant .

It is currently upgraded to L/55 gun. Cheers.

Seeing this tank in Ukraine, Russians should have been scared, surrendered and retreated. But instead, Russians began to destroy these tanks. Putin pays 10 k for Leo's skin.

i hate that we sold our tanks to other nations, now every damn country has some form leopard 2 instead of doing theyre own tank designs.

What a weird comment. The fact that it is sold so well makes it affordable for Germany. If you want your fucking unique unicorn tank design that only yourself is driving you have to pay the price for that. Like with the EF2000, which is not selling well. The F-35 is 30-50% less expensive meanwhile because everyone wants it.

@@madrooky1398 i find it simply not smart give warequipment to forreign countries just because of greed. the tides of alliances can easily swap so war is always possible.

      @@rain89skarlet80 Oh my...
      1. This has nothing to do with greed. Basic economics. Every country with a meaningful weapon production also exports them. And if they can't their tax payers have to bear even higher bills or these programs are stopped because of the costs. Every producing country is also selling, just take a look around in the world.
      2. I don't know what kind of mindset you have but it speaks volumes you say it like it was obvious we could end up at war with Sweden or Canada tomorrow. This is nonsense. Especially from a German perspective, since its first unification after the Holy Roman Empire, Germany was never attacked. And to think that NATO is fragile is far from reality. The only country ever leaving NATO was France for a couple of years, but they did not leave completely and rejoined a few years later. We are not in the medieval any more where alliances can be formed or broken on a daily basis.
But i guess you have your mind set no matter what i say. But i suggest you change your echo chamber because it is obvious to me what ever media led you to believe what you just said is not particular truthful.
      Cheers.

@@FXGreggan. if they would invest back in the german military then i wouldnt see this as a big problem. but lets be honest our military is a joke because of cuts, because of wasted opportunities thanks to incompetent government.
