tbh the slurping sounds made me jealous lmao like it sounded like she was enjoying the food plus it looks so good so now i'm really hungry - it's 2am tho so i'll just sit and suffer instead lol
Paying for hospital is so bizarre to me since we have free healthcare in England ( free in the sense that they take a small amount from our taxes) Thank the lord for this.
@Xena T, You guys pay a lot as tax on your income but Korea has much lower income tax. Instead, they pay health insurance fee to the government and it usually cost around 100 dollars/month (although it's based on income level but it doesn't vary much). The difference is that there is no waiting or nothing. You need surgery? Go to a hospital near you and get admitted immediately. You go see a doctor 'cause you got pneumonia? Walk in and see a doctor and pay like 5 bucks. It may not be the best national health insurance system but it is indeed real good.
I didn't know that and it's good to hear that medical care is not expensive in Korea but for families like mine where genetic and chronic diseases are present NHS helps out big time. I'm not saying NHS is perfect as it does have flaws but my family has received so much than what they tax us so I'm grateful for it.
Yeah, I know what you're talking about. We have free health care in Canada too. And whenever I hear people from the states, or from other countries talking about paying at hospitals it always seems so weird.
Xena T gotta agree with this, everyday people moan and complain about the NHS, I'm not proud to admit I've complained before...but we really are lucky to have the health system we have
dasssss why korean's are so healthy and live long, they care about people and have low healthcare. while my ass over here in the U.S. dying with no health coverage T-T
she did a video on something like that, the paths are different if you want to work for a Korean company, be self employed or be an overseas transfer, that's for the long term work.
Oh mah gash yess, I agree. Im aaaall the way in South Africa, and just started my journey to learning Hangul so I could soon go to S.k. It would be fabulous to go there like in December during my University vac though, earn a little coin whilst I'm at ittt..;)
I had surgery in Korea and for the surgery and two days over night AND my medication it was under $600. In America it would have been 2x that at least :(
I gave birth to my son 11 months ago- the bill? $12,000 just for the birth- that's not including the 4 days we had to stay at the hospital due to complications (good thing we had Medicaid). Also, $1200 to have a wisdom tooth extracted without insurance. Even with insurance, the insurance company only pays half or less so you still end up paying like $600
I really don't get why I'm still living in the U.S. Everything here is so...extra. Like ???? I'm sure there's things that are better here than they are in Korea but life just seems easier in Korea. Everything here is crazy expensive. It's hard to get around if you don't have a car. And Korea is safer. But starting a new life in a different country is obviously not going to be easy by any means. I really want to live somewhere that isn't America though 😂
not gunna lie, this made me hella sleepy lol the sound of cooking, eating, and just talking about things reminds me of my aunt when she used to babysit me. i love it so much.
Ikr? I have scoliosis and it because one of my legs is slightly shorter than the other one so I'm supposed to go to the doctor every month to get my back realigned and get a lift for one of my shoes but I can't afford it so I haven't gone in like 5 years and now my back is constantly hurting .-. lets start a petition for Korean healthcare prices here in the US xD
Ikillyouwithhugs That's so sad! Our prices are so astronomical and with Obamacare, if you can't afford insurance (which is now even higher) you get fined by the IRS. Medical costs are out of control with or without insurance. And it shouldn't be a problem to choose to not have insurance if we can afford to pay out of pocket (which can even be cheaper nowadays!) It's so messed up. I know people who were suffering financially before without an insurance company, and I know even more people who are suffering financially now even with insurance. Its like one big circle of debt we can't get out of. So...so depressing.
Melinda Mercier Yeah exactly! My mom got laid off and almost no doctor we looked into took government insurance so that was a big reason for me to stop going, the health care system is so insane .-.
Melinda Mercier without Obamacare, you wouldn't be able to get healthcare if you had a preexisting condition (pregnancy is considered a preexisting condition) or if you became ill, you could legally be dropped from your health insurance. And women's healthcare coated double what it did men. Obamacare isn't perfect but I'd rather have the penalty than that. And under Trump's proposed plan, you will get fined if you try to get insurance after not having it. So the people that are already insured under Obamacare will have heavy costs and if they leave and then become sick they will be fined. Or if they left Obamacare and decided to come back for Trumpcare, they'd be fined. Korea has had socialized healthcare since 1985 (what Bernie Sanders was proposing) but since people chose Hillary, and thus causing Trump to be elected, Obamacare- beneficial albeit flawed- is going to be replaced by a plan that further strengthens the greed of the pharmaceutical companies.
Melinda Mercier tell me about it. My husband and I cannot afford to insure ourselves or our kids and the irs has screwed us because of it. Every month we have to make a payment to them so we definitely can't afford to do anything much less try to buy health insurance. I wish we could just leave.
I can’t believe this is the first video of yours I’ve ever seen when it came out, then I lost it for YEARS, until now. I can’t believe you’re married with kids! I’m so happy for you. I came back to this video to relive the old days.
The logic behind 전세 (JeonSae) is that you give a large sum of money to your landlord and he/she can use that money to do other stuff to gain profit (invest/earn interest/etc). It was a popular way of charging tenants rent because interests on savings were really high decades ago. If you put down a JeonSae of 300,000 USD, then your landlord could earn maybe 10,000 or more with just interest back then. So you're not paying him/her anything but you lost the potential interest on savings you could've earned so you did pay him in the end. And since JeonSae requires a large sum of money, people usually have to take out loans to pay for their JeonSae and end up having to pay interest to banks/financial institutions. So you do lose your money. JeonSae is not popular nowadays because the interest returns on savings SUCK now. Landlords can't earn barely anything with such a little interest rate of 1 percent-ish now so a lot of landlords are charging monthly rents now (just like how we do in US and basically everywhere else). If you ARE require to pay JeonSae, it'd be a crazy amount. Like when I was in Korea, my family lived in a 3 bedroom apartment in a decent district in Seoul and JeonSae was 850,000 USD.. ALMOST A MILLION DOLLARS! And Yes. Korea has one of the best (at least for patients) national/universal health insurance. You don't have to wait like Canadians or British have to when visiting a doctor. You just walk in and see a doc and pay like 3~5 bucks. A family plan for 4 members usually cost around 100 USD/month. But Koreans still get private health insurance in addition to their mandatory national health insurance to get paid even more money when sick/seriously ill. Eating out is only cheap if you eat 분식 (BoonSik) which are more like snack-type food (Gimbap, Spicy rice cake, tempura and stuff). Real meals cost at least 7~8 bucks.
Banana Party I guess but it's very basic meal. If you go for BBQ/grill or meat type of dish, it'll cost at least 10~12 per meal. Funny thing is a lot of Korean entrees are meant to be shared among people (2~4ish ppl) so 1 entree cost like 30~60 bucks.
That is so cheap! The Korean restaurant here is so expensive! It's the most authentic I've found but I order mandu and kimchi chigae and it's in the $20 range...
You should see the price of meals in restaurants in Switzerland .. 7-8 bucks IS so cheap to me hahaha ! You get a tiny sandwich at that price, even in a university area .. sad life hahha.
I always get suuuuper hungry everytime i watch a cooking video of you :( but still i think you explain it super well and funny xD hope you keep do those videos
Megan bring these back I just found your channel and I love seeing recipes from a foreign country and then get to chat chat after you make it love your personality 😘
You're making me miss my mommyy😭😭😭 I need to get more recipes under my belt. And 😂😂 at the slurping. I've been thinking about doing a mukbang video and I'm so excited to cook something and get to eating! Your recipe looks great and yeeeessss to green onions! 😋😋😋 I'm such a foodie, too lol. Great video girlie!!
I like these videos where you cook then eat while you talk to youtube. Its like eating with a friend. Love it. Keep doing what you do Megan. Got me wanting to make some Korean dishes. Amazon here I come!
There are tutorials online. Search "how to use chopsticks" on RUclips and I'm sure you'll find lots of tutorial videos. Once you figure out how to use them, just keep practicing and you'll get better.
Girl!!!! I rarely comment on your videos, although I am watching. Let me just say, when you make these videos, you make me want to make the dish, figure out how to use chopsticks with ease, and that I'm soooo hungry! Just know I'm mentally making a grocery list for the Asian Market. lol I love these videos!
okay, but I LOVE these vids, seeing you being vegan in Korea proves that you can be vegan literally anywhere! (it was worried about it, since I'm vegan too and most of the traditional Korean dishes are meat-based :( )
I loved this......I make this all the time a vegan version button added somethings that I don't and it was cool to see another version.... seeing the vegan fish cake was amazing....thank you so much for this video Megan !!!
apperently in Germany you're forced by law to get health injurances (they take a small amount of your monthly salary) and then you don't have to pay for visits at the doctor or medicine you'll need. Of course there some exceptions but yeah, usually you don't have to pay anything when you go to the doctor in Germany. :D And the food here in Germany is kinda cheap too, not as cheap as in Korea but yeah. It also depends in which city you are cause for example I live in a city called 'Bamberg' and even tho it's pretty famous among tourists (Bamberg is cultural world-heritage that's why there are so many tourists from all around the world, like the US, China, Japan, Korea etc.) and well just a really popular city in Germany the food here is still really cheap but if I go to Berlin (which isn't as far as beautiful as Bamberg just sayin lol)....holy I pay so much for food and drinks, like ~4$ for a fucking coke dude?? wtf :'D
I got to make this last night, because of your video. It had been quite the adventure! Never did I ever think I would be cooking something that utilized kelp! Thanks for making this video :)
I've gone plant based for the past month and these videos are great inspiration as I'm transitioning to a Vegan lifestyle. Also love how simple they are!
I'm watching this at almost 4am.. I'm so hungry! I'm glad I have everything to make this. I usually put anchovies with the dried kelp when I boil. the results are SO good ❤
I became a subscriber when you went to eat watermelon noodles and haven't turned back since! The recipes are bomb and the mukbangs are awesome! Glad to have found another fab RUclipsr
Omg! I've always wanted to make this but never could find a good vegan recipe! I just made yours and it is EVERYTHING!!! 라볶이 just adds something extra with the noodles.
I am from Delaware. Due to your influence I now cook Korean food on the regular. We have Korean grocery stores here. And even here Korean ingredients are cheap and healthy. My soondubu jjigea is to die for. Thank you!
JIMINS BUTTHOLE STINKS its National Heath Services, we basic have free health insurance in the uk because it gets took out of like our taxes or bills or whatever
Awwww you're so cute! It's not that medical care is so cheap in Korea, it's just that it's so expensive in the US! I'm in France, have had big health issues and never spent a dime on health. I'm so happy when I see americans get so surprised by "normal" prices or totally free health care. Everybody in the world should be able to enjoy that kind of thing.
i really admire the healthcare system in Korea. That is one of the reasons I would like to travel there or live there fore a while. I also heard that because the price is so low, the doctors do not get paid very much. Is that true?
in germany we have an awesome health care system. you basically pay an amount of money monthly ( depends on your salary) and you can go to the doctor whenever/where ever you need to and you pay nothing. Even for medicine it's for free (not always though ) but mostly.
When I first saw Korean food I thought it looked weird and that it probably would taste funny. When I see you cooking and eating it I feel the urge to try it myself. Great video!
looks so goood aaaa Im hungry now hahahah I love noodles but I can't force myself to eat cold salty food ( like sushi or the watermellon noodles) so Im kinda listing my options for an eventual trip ⭐
also, you're almost to half a million subscribers and I have been subscribed since you had.... like 6,000? I'm glad your channel has grown so much, you deserve it^^ I also admire you for your drive to learn and grow
Yes she knows because where she was born and raised her besfriend was Puerto Rican I think (She said it in an old video) and she kinda knows Spanish because of that.
She does know Spanish but she adds the extra rr sounds because that's her personality. I say twitter with an extra rr sounds because I watch her so much.
I don't really like mukbang videos... BUT! I really enjoy Megans' they are really good, especially for her opinions and stories.... and recipes; thank you! 😉✌
Not really. I do see how they can be compared, but gnocchi are doughy, made with eggs and flour and such, whereas rice cakes are, well, rice-flour-based, which creates a different texture. They are a bit similar in consistency, I suppose, but the flavor and use for them is quite different. I didn't think of it before, though. It's a really interesting thought.
you're amazing and i admire your courage to move and start a new life..im Greek and im also thinking of moving somewhere else. keep giving us courage! cheers
My teacher thought I was doing a good job doing my work on my laptop...little do they know I'm watching a lady eating mukbang in front of my screen😂....also the food is making me really hungry right now.
If my kitchen wasn't under construction I would totally make this!! What you told us about Korea totally made Korea my now go-to place over Japan when I do end up travelling.
Diana D I feel you 😭 we've been redoing my kitchen for months (aka no stove or counter space to cook) so we've been eating out every night and watching Mukbangs kills me lol I pop my cup o'noodles in the microwave and imagine I'm eating these delicious meals 😭😭
Like she said a lot of the recipes have like the same ingredients and you tweek the rest to your liking lol every recipe she does at it's base has red pepper flakes, chili paste, rice syrup/sesame oil and just vegetables lol you choose noodles or rice or rice cakes and add whatever you like to it after those things lol
Am I the only one who noticed someone came towards the end of the video? I heard them typing in the door code, then I heard the door unlocking and then Megan looked up 🙈 probably the reason why she ended the video then
Omar Okaby I believe she barely gains weight because she works out and her diet is plant based. I'm not exactly sure but working out is one of the BIG things to keeping a healthy weight.
Ok, chica. My daughter saw your video and have me half a day looking for the ingredients to do this....ayyyyyyyy!!! but it was all good and the food even better, thanks for showing us how to cook this.
What do u think about the Trump and Hillary situation in the US? xD btw I paused the video mid-way and went to cooked instant noodles and came back to watch the rest of it. Lol
I live in germany and i wanted to make kimchi but i cant find korean radish or even daikon radish here :/ theres just pickled radish :/ are there any websites where i can buy fresh korean radish ? or are here any germans that know where i can find some (Munich) sorry for this random question under your video ^^' I really enjoy your mukbang because i love to see how its made :) ❤
Lisa Miyuki du brauchst kein daikon rettich für kimchi. kannst auch den ganz normalen langen weissen rettich benutzen. den findet man in fast jeden supermarkt.
Meg Meg Meg this was a wait for it video like it was worth it I actually liked how you combined the kinda teaching how to make a certain dish and story time they were both so beneficial plus u look super cute as always so keep up the good work ;)also the teaching part of the video really helps cause it inspires me on what to make
tbh the slurping sounds made me jealous lmao like it sounded like she was enjoying the food plus it looks so good so now i'm really hungry - it's 2am tho so i'll just sit and suffer instead lol
its 1 am where I am and I can't cook because everyone is alseep 😟😟😅
omg same!! :D i got so hungry haha
I'M SO DAMN HUNGRY NOW!
Same
SAME that thing looks soo good but where i live there's nothing near similar to that
#wings... and same i need to make this

Every time I watch one of her videos like this I immediately go out and get Pho. Which I know is Vietnamese not Korean but whatev.
Everytime I watch Megan's video I have the biggest urge to fly to Korea and have fun with her 😂
I'll pick you up at the airport LOL!!!
cari cakes please do omg 😂😂

she did a video on something like that, the paths are different if you want to work for a Korean company, be self employed or be an overseas transfer, that's for the long term work.
yeah i was that video but it wuold be cool to have an 'update' since i'm looking forward to move to korea and working there
Oh mah gash yess, I agree. Im aaaall the way in South Africa, and just started my journey to learning Hangul so I could soon go to S.k. It would be fabulous to go there like in December during my University vac though, earn a little coin whilst I'm at ittt..;)
Benedetta Giorgi is she an English teacher ?
Just hearing how much American health care costs is ridiculous
I had surgery in Korea and for the surgery and two days over night AND my medication it was under $600. In America it would have been 2x that at least :(
That's why we all end up taking charge of our own health. Exercising and eating healthy...
I gave birth to my son 11 months ago- the bill? $12,000 just for the birth- that's not including the 4 days we had to stay at the hospital due to complications (good thing we had Medicaid). I have an Hmart near my house in Philly. Its a Korean super market...depending where you are a Korean mart is best
"Oh I'm getting full" keeps eating, lol literally me
::cries:: I want Korean Healthcare prices. 😭😭😭 We have such a greedy system here in the US...le sigh.

Reminder to self. Always have food prepared to eat before watching Megan's cooking video's. Me so hungry now!
I thought this would be weird to just watch someone eat but it feels like I'm having a one sided conversation with a friend while eating lunch.
And the food here in Germany is kinda cheap too, not as cheap as in Korea but yeah.
Are we allowed to replace the fish broth with something else such as veggie stock
You could try but kelp broth is the best. It's not fishy like you imagine. Vegetable broth might not taste good with the red pepper paste? Idk
I've gone plant based for the past month and these videos are great inspiration as I'm transitioning to a Vegan lifestyle. Also love how simple they are!
ChoNunMigookSaram what about a soysauce-lemon-broth? that's kinda how i make my kimchi
Niki there's no fish broth. She has fish cakes but they are vegan.
BlueCherry Mama yes but not all ppl can get them
I'm watching this at almost 4am.. I'm so hungry! I'm glad I have everything to make this. I usually put anchovies with the dried kelp when I boil. the results are SO good ❤
this is torture... been in school since 7am and here until 9pm and I haven't eaten anything all day...
this looks so delicious!!
I became a subscriber when you went to eat watermelon noodles and haven't turned back since! The recipes are bomb and the mukbangs are awesome!
Glad to have found another fab RUclipsr
Son yo mukbang's make me starving, DAMN
Omg! I've always wanted to make this but never could find a good vegan recipe! I just made yours and it is EVERYTHING!!! 라볶이 just adds something extra with the noodles.
This whole video I was craving your food 😁
I am from Delaware. Due to your influence I now cook Korean food on the regular. We have Korean grocery stores here. And even here Korean ingredients are cheap and healthy. My soondubu jjigea is to die for. Thank you!
Yasss for MUKBANG !!! This looks yummy
idk why but i watch this over and over again.. love it :)
so lucky ㅠㅠ
Cuz i live in London such common ingredients such as gochujang and Korean red pepper is hard to find. even ddeobokki. like legit. *cries*
Kawaiigrape i don't know where you live in London but you can find them in Chinatown! 😊
Gochujang is so gooood XD Sometimes I can't help but eat it by itself...
In Greenwich Charlton you can try SeeWoo. It’s a large outlet for Asian food😁
this is the most informative mukbang ive ever seen i learned so much!!!
Dang you American folks are being ripped off $300 for a x-ray😂😂😂 NHS for life💛😊
slayley 14 NHS?
Is that true?
it's not true.
madamada45 Well in england we get it free!!
I was eating my lunch by myself so I turned on this video and didn't feel lonely anymore. Please do more mukbangs :) I enjoyed eating with you!
IM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW YAZZZZ!!!
Im happy that I can make you happy :)
+ChoNunMigookSaram Yeah you is ❤
I like your eating noises, it’s more natural and comfortable instead of acting posh and stuck up
in germany we have an awesome health care system. you basically pay an amount of money monthly ( depends on your salary) and you can go to the doctor whenever/where ever you need to and you pay nothing. Even for medicine it's for free (not always though ) but mostly.
I love how you prepared stories and were just talking randomly, I just felt like having a conversation with you :) loveeee and take care
I love these videos
I like the peaceful vegie-fish cake & the elegant local apron.
Free health care ftw
This is why I live in Canada
Yeah, so free... Half your pay is taken by taxes.
Nothing is free.
When I first saw Korean food I thought it looked weird and that it probably would taste funny. When I see you cooking and eating it I feel the urge to try it myself. Great video!
looks so goood aaaa Im hungry now hahahah
I love noodles but I can't force myself to eat cold salty food ( like sushi or the watermellon noodles) so Im kinda listing my options for an eventual trip ⭐
I hate mukbang ( usually) but watching you cook is so fun! And then I stay for the rest haha
Your videos are always so great
Megan, can you suggest trusted website that sell these food stuff online and available shipping worldwide?. Really appreciate it.
also, you're almost to half a million subscribers and I have been subscribed since you had.... like 6,000? I'm glad your channel has grown so much, you deserve it^^ I also admire you for your drive to learn and grow
Do you know spanish? Because you pronounce some words like spanish, and 'rr' sound.
Oh OK i'll see it 💕
Mmm, i didn't know that, thanks 💜
Because of this, i'm spanish and these sounds so familiar to me 😂😂💞
I'm so weird, I love hearing people eat! You made that, look and sound so yummy!
LA ISLA DEL ENCATO, PUERTO RICO. Saludos
I don't really like mukbang videos... BUT! I really enjoy Megans' they are really good, especially for her opinions and stories.... and recipes; thank you! 😉✌
are the rice cakes like gnocchi?
K Knofi it's lighter then gnocchi but a lot more chewy super chewy, not hard to chew though it's pretty soft I think gnocchi is more firm
i really like how you start by showing us what you cook, please do more cooking videos with korean recipes
Eating stirfry whilst watching this... :3 Kinda feels like you're eating together haha xD
you're amazing and i admire your courage to move and start a new life..im Greek and im also thinking of moving somewhere else. keep giving us courage! cheers
This was almost like eating with Megan except I didn't have any food.
My teacher thought I was doing a good job doing my work on my laptop...little do they know I'm watching a lady eating mukbang in front of my screen😂....also the food is making me really hungry right now.
I just found your channel and holy shit.. you're awesome
How did you learned korean cooking?❤
she lives in korea...
. 루비 I know...
she speak Korean so good
Bangtan Sonyeondan I think she watches Maangchi
Like she said a lot of the recipes have like the same ingredients and you tweek the rest to your liking lol every recipe she does at it's base has red pepper flakes, chili paste, rice syrup/sesame oil and just vegetables lol you choose noodles or rice or rice cakes and add whatever you like to it after those things lol
I love tokkkbokki so much! I wish I was closer to an international store. I'd make it all the time!
you can always order on amazon :)
Am I the only one who noticed someone came towards the end of the video? I heard them typing in the door code, then I heard the door unlocking and then Megan looked up 🙈 probably the reason why she ended the video then
☻☻
👀👀
probably a significant other that she won't talk about because of what happened when she last put her love life out on social media
exactly :") she clearly said she won't talk about such stuff anymore
yep yep!
Sam what happened last time? I remember her showing her bf a while back but I didn't know something happened because of it
You should put sugar in it, anyway, you are like Korean who can eat such a spicy deok bok ki😋
What a wonderful!
how u eat what ever u want and never gain weight ?
I wanna know .
pleeeeeeease
Omar Okaby I believe she barely gains weight because she works out and her diet is plant based. I'm not exactly sure but working out is one of the BIG things to keeping a healthy weight.
Ok, chica. My daughter saw your video and have me half a day looking for the ingredients to do this....ayyyyyyyy!!! but it was all good and the food even better, thanks for showing us how to cook this.
What do u think about the Trump and Hillary situation in the US? xD
btw I paused the video mid-way and went to cooked instant noodles and came back to watch the rest of it. Lol
good question
***** Idk I just expect her to replies "oh its fuxked up... lucky I moved to Korea" Lol haha
People with large followings regularly influence votes. Y'know endorsements and such usually before ppl vote.
dixy pixy omg same 😂😂 and now I'm eatiing noodles while watching her
I'm literally in front of a Korean market now ready to buy all the ingredients and make this delicious meal 😂❤️❤️
She looks like Tia and Tamera Mowry!!!!
omgggg you!!! its you.... EBS girl good to see you here 😍
I live in germany and i wanted to make kimchi but i cant find korean radish or even daikon radish here :/ theres just pickled radish :/
are there any websites where i can buy fresh korean radish ?
or are here any germans that know where i can find some (Munich)
sorry for this random question under your video ^^'
I really enjoy your mukbang because i love to see how its made :)
❤
Meg Meg Meg this was a wait for it video like it was worth it I actually liked how you combined the kinda teaching how to make a certain dish and story time they were both so beneficial plus u look super cute as always so keep up the good work ;)also the teaching part of the video really helps cause it inspires me on what to make
