100% agree! (This is called ‘Hip-Hop’) And way back, about 10 years BEFORE this song, we had the grandfathers of Hip Hop, like Sugarhill Gang. All of the early Hip Hop was good, and coming along with Rock, early Hip Hop was fun, and listenable. Right up to Run DMC, but they started making changes to their songs, turning their lyrics about violence and also filling their lyrics with filthy language. It got so bad with Run DMC at the time there were people boycotting their music everywhere, it was all over the news constantly, and they were banned from all radio stations. So, the only way you could hear them at that point was to buy their cassette or CD. Which at that point I never did. It went from Hip Hop to Rap and all the fun was gone. Gone were the clever, rhyming lyrics, and real musical instruments. The lyrics turned towards violence and obscenity, was no longer sung but spoken and was all done to electronic drum machines or some other kind of electronically produced “music”. The way I remember it, the good Hip Hop had about a 10 year run, and there were plenty of great songs during that time.

Joel
Walked around with this tune in my head for a long time! Veryyyyy catchyyyyyy
LOVE it, it takes me back to when I was a young man getting old f...in sucks "BIG" time. This tune still sounds as fresh and vibrant, in 2023, as it did back in 1989. It never dates, the 80s had some great music.
THIS BACK WHEN HIP HOP MUSIC WAS STILL FUN AND SHIT
EXACTLY !
Yes exactly!
Jake Peralta brought me here
and me.

Great song.
Remember uncle buck walking out of the school after throwing the quarter at the principal?
That brought back memories gotta see that movie. LOL
I was watching that clip and then I came here.
That was actually Wild Thing.
Yes!! Best thing EVER!!
You know, when a song is playing in your head and it just "pops" up on RUclips, simply awesome. 😎🤘
Damn I’m 48 and remember this , great memories
Hear you man
I'm not far behind you. Hard to believe it's been thirty years...
Hell I'm 58 and I remember this like it was yesterday!!
me too i´m from ´70 allways liked tone loc
i´m just happy i´m still around
I’m 48 too and still enjoying the music from the 80s. I tell my kids Drake won’t be played in my house! Lol
And in the top right corner you'll see an ancient symbol that was used when MTV used to actually play music videos and music related content.
You mean the one with Beavis and Butthead and Liquid Television and Aon Flux and … I liked that channel.
Its actually mtv2 where music videos were played one last time before they all died
You've been played Bob, it was all a ruse.
Have to have music in order to have videos. Music has sucked for decades now
I was still young enough to know and watched MTV when they still did Music videos. good times
Listening during the pandemic. This really takes the edge off!
Flashback to nights in the club 💗🎶
Best commercial ever for a drink that doesn't exist.
Listening to this beat and wearing nylon joggers, a big highlight of my childhood 😍🔥
If this song was released today, there would be world wide lawsuits LMAO
jbirdmax yes there would
Thet could call themselves "Law suit in Progress"
jbirdmax - Anyone involved in this tune would have a paid hit out on them.
Damn straight bud
That's sure is the truth. Back then we didn't read into things like they do today, we were just having fun. Always loved tone loc.
"This is the 80's and Loc is down with the ladies." 1989 was funny
On google lyrics it reads: “I’m down with the ladies.” But in this version he songs, “Loc’s down with the ladies.” I remember it being the former. Mandela Effect maybe?
@@PianoMan-hx3ev I have the original and it's "I'm" on that one, so there are two versions, you are remembering it correctly.
1993 wasn’t too bad either
Lots of men nowadays ain't down with the ladies
I love the Sheena story😂😂😂😂😂and the cool beat after it! 🤘🤘🤘🤘how can you not dance to this? It's impossible 😎
