About the video: The music video for “QAD BADA (Withdrawal into the Perception of the Essence)” is set in Abiquiu, New Mexico, and follows Hakim and his son Kareem’s journey to Dar al-Islam, an adobe mosque in the mountains of Abiquiu. It commemorates Hakim and speaks to the universal message of unconditional love and dedication.
About Hakim: Hakim Archuletta has worked in the healing arts for over three decades, and has helped countless individuals in the global Muslim community and beyond. Hakim has been the sole caretaker of his adult disabled son Kareem, and this music video highlights his love and devotion. Recently, Hakim’s wheelchair accessible van was totaled, and, as Hakim’s close friends, 7STATIONS put together a successful fundraising campaign on LaunchGood, which raised over $25,000. The debut music video by the band is dedicated to the supporters that made that campaign successful.
About 7Stations: Muslim rock band 7STATIONS fuses Arabic Islamic / Sufi spiritual poetry and traditional North-African melodies with modern musical styles. 7STATIONS consists of two founding members, MHMD and Meek. MHMD is an Irish-American Muslim, born and raised. Meek comes from a Jewish background, and converted to Islam in the early 2000s. Together, they are on a musical journey to spread a universal message to the world through their rock renditions of the poetry of the Moroccan Shaykh, Muhammad ibn al-Habib, as well as other traditional Islamic songs.
Lyrics - English Translation:
My Beloved's Face appeared
and shone in the hour before dawn
Its light enveloped my heart
and humbly I prostrated
He said: Arise and ask of Me!
Whatever you desire is yours
I said: You! You are all I need!
I cannot bear to be without You!

Dynamite! Who said you could never put electric rock music to the qasidas of Sayyedina Shaykh Muhammad ibn al Habib? And doesn't Dar al Islam and New Mexico look great? Well done 7Stations!
Subhanallah. May Allah swt keep your son in His protection. Ameen.
MashaAllah...Prayers and love for you guys from Pakistan
Pulls on all the heartstrings.
MashAllah this is so amazing! I’ve never heard anything like it. It’s stuck in my head and I love that it’s basically zhikr playing in my mind over and over again. Good work MM!
May Allah give you guys tawfiq. Beautiful music and heart felt music video. MashaAllah!
Keep Rocking on Islamic Songs...
I love you...Guys.
Wassalaam.
Salla Allah 'ala Muhammad! Congratulations and thank you for the music, the stellar video
FACTS: The drive to get my kid from school is 30 minutes long. This song is just short of 5 minutes long. I listened to it on repeat during my commute, therefore I heard it 6 times in a row. Make that 12, because it’s 1hr round trip. MashaAllah, can’t wait to listen to the rest of the album. As a Muslim rock fan, songs with clean lyrics and good meanings are hard to come by, let along lyrics with a sacred meaning!! I don’t know if you can tell but I’m really nerding out and I’m very happy that this exists. Keep up the good work.
ps. the video is absolutely heartwarming and nicely shot. Beauty all around, mashaAllah.
Jazakallah Khair! It's a good thing we have 8 more songs for your next road trip: the7stations.bandcamp.com/

QAD BADAA
My Beloved’s Face appeared
and shone in the hour before dawn.
Its light enveloped my heart
and humbly I prostrated
He said: Arise and ask of Me!
Whatever you desire is yours.
I said: You! You are all I need!
I cannot bear to be without You!
He said: My servant, glad tidings are yours.
rejoice in the vision you’ve been given!
You are a treasure for My servants.
You are a reminder for humanity.
Know that all goodness and beauty
in humanity spreads forth from Me.
The attributes of My essence are hidden,
and unveiled in the traces (of creation).
The cosmos is truly only spirit
existing in forms.
All who grasp this (subtle allusion)
are among the people of wisdom
While no one who stays apart from us
can taste life’s real sweetness.
Our Lord, bless the one
whose light envelops humanity.

Wtf is this
I disliked the video because the music has absolutely nothing to do with the Islamic culture apart from the lyrics. Those who wrote the music seem to have no knowledge of muslim music, sufi or just traditional, and are probably ignorant of bands that blend in an amazing way traditional Islamic music with modern rock, such as Kasbah Rockers, Tinariwen or John Berberian on one of his blues like album, or, by far my favorites the turkish psychedelic rock scene from the 70s (check the youtube channel Anatolian Rock Revival). From a non islamic, rock point of view, this music is quite basic, and although the composition is not horrible, it doesn't worth wasting my time listening to it more than once. That being said, Ive listened tons of rock music from metal, heavy, punk, rockn roll etc to traditional music from different cultures, obviously including arab, iranian and ottoman so Im quite fussy and demanding.
Let us know where we can find Ottoman metal, heavy, punk, rock n roll?
Actually the musicians are devout Sufi Muslims and are quite knowledgeable about Muslim and Sufi music, as are family members who came out of the Sufi music scene in London circa the late 1960s. Bill Laswell (who played with Kasbah Rockers) is hardly a purist and not Muslim at all. Tinariwen, of course, is one of the best bands in the world. Almost nothing compares.
