Before islam came into my life i was heavily involved in gypsy lifestyle combined with flamenco. I broke with that world but i do remember that we are all travelers in this world because of a beautifull hadith from our prophet pbuh. “What is the world to me? What am I to the world? Verily, the example of this world and myself is that of a rider who seeks shade under a tree, then he moves on and leaves it behind.”

And Allah said in the Quran "Verily, He could have made you of the same tradition, but He has made you variously, with beauty bestowed upon you, that you may know eachother"

Islam is unchanged but the people are placed into nations and tribes that have different artistic expressions that do not defy the soundness and orthodoxy of Islam. Rather we recognise each other’s beautiful reflections and enjoin in the salutations upon uswatulhasana, alaihi afdhal as-salat wa-salam.

The interpretations of instruments and whether they are halal is much debated. Some say all instruments are haram while others say they are acceptable. Whatever your opinion, it is clear which side you lie on, do not say they are being devious as they do genuinely believe they are being respectful and honouring Allah. Their intentions are most important, as is repeatedly stated in the Qur'an.

Music is great therapy for the mind. It can help relieve depression and anxiety. It expresses all the human emotions.

If you think about it Christianity and Jewdaism are midlle Eastern religions that have been in the West for thousands of years and have influenced the culture of Europe.
