    Amazing video! I currently have a pair of Spektor 6s and I love them, however I really want to add a sub. What do you think would the E-12F make a good fit? The room is quite big (35m²), but placement options are sort of limited, so i want a powerful, yet compact subwoofer that will be able to keep up with the Spekors and fill the whole space with clean bass.

      Hi Erik. The CONCEPT series was discontinued some 10 years ago. It was first replaced by the ZENSOR series (now also discontinued) and then the current OBERON series. But the CONCEPT 6 and SUB E-12 F will work great together, as well as the current OBERON line.

    I’m considering buying one of these in China in 2024. I can get a brand new Sunfire Hrs-12 for $500 an MK12 for $700 or a Dali K14 for $740. I am more interested in music performance.I’ve read about quite a number of humming incidents with the Sunfire on forums. Does the Dali have any of these issues? I can’t demo any of the subs. How reliable are Dali subs and is there a 6 year warrantee? (Maybe I am wrong). I know the Sunfire only has a 1 year warrantee. It is the cheapest and possibly goes the lowest, but reliability issues worry me.
    Any opinions greatly appreciated.
    p.s the prices of some things in China are crazy. You can buy stuff from government contractors that produce extra units. I paid $915 for an Audiolab 9000a. I will be using a sub with KEF XQ40s

    What is the crossover frequency needed for the Dali Oberon 5 with the E-12 F?

    • @dalispeakers
      @dalispeakers  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hello! It’s all a matter of taste and preference - and depends a bit on your room acoustics as well. I would recommend starting at around 80 Hz and finding a volume setting where the subwoofer blends well with your OBERON 5’s. Then try setting the subwoofer to 70 Hz and listen to that. The correct setting would be when the subwoofer sounds like a natural extension. Do let me know if you have any questions we can help you with. Thanks!

    I really enjoy watching this, even though knowing how to design subs and the technical details behind it, this is pretty much appears as a lot of nice sounding words with little to no meaning. Still, decent subs without a doubt.
    No bullshitting people with "extension to 11hz" from a 20cm cube...

    what Dali sub pairs best with my Rubicon 6 BE Limited?...i listen to a lot of music and watch movies...I had a pair of Rel T7x and I didn't think the bass had enough extension and was too tight...

    • @dalispeakers

      Hello. From what you describe I would recommend two DALI K-14 F subwoofers.
      It is a very powerful combination and will fill large rooms with deep and engaging bass.
      Having two will distribute the bass energy more evenly in the room and give you better bass response and punchier dynamics.
      And…they sound great for music as well - like all DALI subwoofers.
      If space is an issue, we can recommend two of our new DALI SUB S-100 custom installation subwoofers.
      They can be mounted on the wall, on the wall or lying flat on their back.
      Don’t let the slim appearance fool you - They are phenomenal subwoofers that sets the reference in sound quality in this category.

    I'm a happy owner of Oberon 5's that I use for both music and movies. But if I would want to add a bit of low-end extension, is the C-8 a good choice? By specs, it goes a little bit lower than the E-9.
    I'm struggling a bit regarding how to choose between the different models. I'd prefer the C-8 or E-9 because they are compact, and living in a city apartment, I'm not sure if I could truly utilize the performance of the bigger models. I have a medium-sized living room, about 18 square meters.

      @@MovieViking Time passed, and I ended up getting the Elac 2030 that is a closed enclosure 10" very similar to the Dali C8 in terms of size and price, but by specs goes a little lower.
      It is a good match in my experience. The crossover frequency range goes down to 44 Hz which is just about low enough for the Oberon 5's. It starts to kick in the frequencies where the Oberons start to show their limits.

    • @MovieViking

      @@Antti5 👌🏻 Good choice. I like the way those 10" closed subs blend with the main speakers.

  • @heyqt7485

    The C-8 is actually amazing! I need to hear more of the other subs, but I love how responsive the C-8 is. My biggest dislike with subs have been that I've found the ones I've previously listened to be too slow and sort of "bleed" out over the music, but the C-8 provides just that extra bass extension without ever taking the center stage and you won't notice it's on until someone turns it off.
    The other subs will surely produce a deeper and more powerful base, but if they are as responsive and rhytmical as the C-8 I'll be surprised. For music the C-8 might be the best sub per unit of money I've heard.
    What do you think of it?

    • @dalispeakers
      @dalispeakers  2 года назад +1

      Hi.
      All our subwoofers are designed to be as responsive and fast as possible and to provide the most seamless integration with the main speakers.
      The subwoofers we make have the same “timing” qualities as you like on the C-8 - although I would say that the K-14 is the only one, where we have focused a bit more on home theatre performance and raw power, than ultimate music performance - although it is very good at this also.
      The E-9F or E-12F are wonderful for music as well.
      Depending on the room size and your front speakers of course.
      I would suggest you give the E-9F a listen - that is a very fast and responsive, all-around subwoofer.
      Thomas / DALI

      Depends on your main speakers, room size, your need for bass extension and your wallet... I would go with two M-10 D or P-10 DSS and a Dspeaker Anti-Mode, never just one sub unless you only want to optimise sound in one very specific spot.

    They seem quite bad. They don't go low, their spl is tragic and the price is high. Of you want deep bass and high spl buy svs. If you want a best quality mid bass buy rel which still digs up lower for the same price.

    • @MovieViking
      @MovieViking Год назад

      No, if you want boomy mid bass and almost impossible calibration with any low-loss and agile sounding speaker you buy SVS. The closed SVS SB-4000 being the exception most of their range is clearly tuned to a certain and predominantly American audience. If you pair ie Epicon with a ported SVS the result is at best mediocre.
      Add two P-10 DSS and the result is fantastic.
