I was 4 years old when the original child's play came out. The first time I watched it was on my grandmother's small TV in the living room. I remember it as if it was yesterday. I loved it. I remember my mom saying that it was inappropriate for me to watch since I was only four but my dad who also grew up watching horror movies watched it with me. My brother however, who was 2 at the time stayed in the kitchen with my grandmother while she was cooking dinner. Safe to say he didn't like it. 😂
Fun fact. Brad Dourif recorded all of his Chucky lines from the ADR Studio. And he frightened his own daughter when she accidentally walked in on him while he was recording Chucky's screaming for the scene where Andy burns him. And get this. The same year he worked on "Child's Play 2" he also played the main villain, the Gemini killer in the criminally underrated "The Exorcist III", which I highly recommend both films. P.S. That hairstyle suits her better IMO.

This was the first Horror film I watched on HBO in 1993. My dad recorded this on a VHS tape with BATMAN 89 and GHOSTBUSTERS 2. I was scared by the doll, but learned to love him later on as one of the most underrated slashers in film history. Steven Spielberg, Robert Wise, Joseph Reuben, Irvin Kershner, Rocky Morton/ Annabelle Jenkell, Jack Clayton, and Robert Altman were considered for Directing It was a box office success, making $45 million dollars ($200 million dollars today) against a $10 million dollar budget.
Nice to see a reaction to this old legendary movie about Chucky...at least in horror circles..but I dont believe that you guys are "just" roommates..just throwing it out there...:)
31:45 In all the films they say Chucky's turning human but only the original actually shows it with the plastic becoming human skin, the doll's ginger hair becoming Charles Lee Ray's dark hair, the plastic teeth changing into human teeth and so on. They scrapped an idea to have him grow stubble too.

Thanks for clearing up it was butter I thought Andy put cream cheese on burned toast. Since when is butter WHITE?? Cream cheese on bagels is an American breakfast so it is possible Andy seen it when he was younger. They puts lots on so he tried it with toast using the toast as a bagel with cream cheese(a) wrong color b) its solid by the thump and 3) Butter doesnt land like that in a heap
After Child's Play 3 the only time the series goes back to the horror with comedic elements it's supposed to be is Curse of Chucky. Apart from that it becomes a bad unfunny comedy series.
