Spent most of my life on roads like this North of Schenectady into the Adirondacks. Feel fortunate to have lived in such a beautiful place. Thanks for the reminder.
I miss this so much!😢 I worked with my grandparents in a hotel in Watkins Glen for about 6 months, and it was the happiest 6 months of my life. I grew up in a desert town in Nevada, and living in a place like this was a dream come true. I'm now in another desert and miss places like this dearly. I hope to go back one day but unfortunately I probably won't be able to.
My husband and I took a trip from Ohio to Maine a couple of years ago. We didn't want to drive even close to the large cities. We went through the Adirondacks on the way up and through the Finger Lakes region on the way home. It was beautiful! I can't wait to go back!❤
*Upstate NY is beautiful!* ❤😊 Thank you for sharing 😊 (subscribed) It is a shame that events occured that eventually destroyed the industries in the area. Almost all of those villages, small towns and little cities had at least one or two factories or businesses that enabled people to live and work outside of big cities. Those local industries also helped the small local mom/pop stores and family farms to survive (farmers are land-rich but cash poor. No matter how skilled a farmer may be; nature may or may not cooperate) You knew your neighbors in those places and there was a real sense of community spirit. 👍
When I lived in the middle of the Adirondacks, my friends and I considered any place south of Utica as "Downstate". As far as winters go chill factor is not too bad. Very little humidity or wind. Lots of outdoor things to do. Better than weather that "is to hot to ski, but too cold to swim". I used to spend most of the time skating and skiing.
The first half of this video is going from Rt 299 in New Paltz, NY headed north on North Ohioville Rd. that was part of my daily commute for 12 years. I had a house in RIfton on Dashville Rd, which you stopped at the intersection of at 13:50. From there, you turned right onto Rt 213 going from Rifton, past Sturgeon Pool, through St. Remy, across the Eddyville bridge over the Rondout Creek onto Abeel St., and finally turning left onto Wilbur Ave. in Kingston.
NY has so much to offer than just "the concrete jungle" like Manhatan and NYC, Although Manhatan and NYC are beaultiful, the nature NY has to offer is gorgeous ! 😍🌳🍁
@OddSwiftGoose Yes! Your state is beaultiful ! Such a 'hidden' gem ! I would like so much to visit NY, of course the touristic places too like Manhatam and NYC, but i'm a nature lover, so i would enjoy SO MUCH to visit the Upstate as well ! ❤🌺 🌳
These views and roadway could be anywhere across New York State north of Metro New York city. Northern NY, Central NY and Western New York are the same AS WHAT WE SEE HERE IN THIS VIDEO.
@ MuhammadNadeem-td4sx Thanks. 😊😊 I hope and pray that my fellow citizens will respect the human and civil rights of others! (As well as being polite) But, I hate to tell you this; some people in America are nasty, mean and dishonest. I am American. (People are people All of us have the same frailities and strengths to varying degrees). Humanity everywhere is a mixed bag of good and bad as is the life we are forced to lead in our motal bodies
Mention New York and most think you live in a high rise apartment in Manhattan. Once picked up a visitor from the west coast at an airport and the first thing he said where are all the big buildings, and all the people..
My mom worked for Home Depot, in the store but dealing with other stores and other places too. Home Depot is based out of Atlanta. Their fraud team is there too. Anyways, my mom had to call the fraud team and was explaining what happened in her store. She ended up making small talk with the woman for awhile and the woman asked if she had ever seen a tree before being that she was from NY. 😂
A suggestion: If you actually want people to watch more than the first 30 seconds of your video, CLEAN YOUR WINDSHIELD (both inside & outside), as well as the lens on your camera / phone, and, at minimum, tell people where you started from & where the video ends.
I recognized the buildings on your left when you started, and thought “That girl’s goin’ Gunkin’!!”😲😎🤩🧗🏼♀️🫶🏻 * swing by Bacchus and have a pint for me…Skål!🍻

I live in Cortland NY in upstate NY 30 miles south of Syracuse NY. We have a lot of farms here.🤗
I love that area,it’s beautiful around syracuse
Cortland rules, just don't let too many people know or it'll get Caifornicated. And Greek Peak! Spent so many memorable times there.
Been there many times. My aunt lived there. Home of the great Ronnie James Dio!
I. Live. Not far from this road. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Upstate NY is drop dead gorgeous. The only problem is they have actual winters with snow and cold.
