I want to find my cabin in the woods, paint it pink and crochet hats and wrist warmers. I will have cats, probably a dog or 2 and I will never stop learning, whether formally or informally. I want to live the next season of my life in absolute peace and awe of the world. Maybe a little travel, some warm homemade bread and butter, I want to take up ceramics again and learn how to hike harder trails, photograph more, complain less and own some good but cute boots. ;) You are an inspiration!

It is a beautiful absolutely gorgeous Autumn here in Michigan also! I love to watch the leaves fall, I love to smell them on the ground and kick through them like when I was a child. I love seeing the trees without their leaves because you can see the forms and branches which are beautiful to me. Thank you for the beautiful tour

Fall in New England is legendary. Timing its arrival is difficult. In New Hampshire’s White Mts I arrived in late Sept. one year & all the leaves were gone! One Sept. in Maine it was so warm & humid the mosquitoes were thick as thieves. Planning a fall NE trip is a crap shoot!
That is so true! I've been meaning to get up to Vermont every fall to enjoy the leaves there ... but I'm always nervous that I'm going to be missing the good stuff here and that I won't even get the right time for up there, either, lol! All we can do is try : ) Have a wonderful week!
I think many of us go through the same emotions you do when fall arrives. It's so beautiful yet so fleeting. I love every season, but if I had a magic wand, I would give one of the winter months to fall. Melancholy is the perfect word during fall because even though the scent, feeling of the air, and visual splendor is simply breathtaking, it is ushering in shorter days and cold weather that isolates us a bit from others. Not necessarily because of our choice alone, but many people stay inside during the cold winter. Still, there's a beauty in the quiet solitude of the winter when the earth is blanketed in snow and it's so silent you can actually hear the soft snowflakes settling onto the sparkling diamond snow. The air is crisp and clean and everything is hibernating peacefully until spring. I feel so blessed to live in an area that gets to experience all four of the beautiful seasons.
I just wanted to say that I love all your videos, I truly hope you continue to make them as time goes on, and I really appreciate the effort that goes into sharing your life in this way. I so enjoyed this video, Autumn is my favourite season, with all the changing colours, the light the sky, the smells it's so beautiful. In Scotland soon it will be dark before 4pm and not light again till around 8am, it can be a long winter but I love it. I'm so grateful for each day I get to wake up to enjoy whatever comes along. I feel the same way about Fall. It’s bittersweet. The colours are brilliant but I know that winter is approaching and even though the snow is beautiful I find that it’s a season of greys and browns and white. It seems to take forever for the spring! I’m planning on compensating for the lack of colour by putting up lots of Christmas lights and decorations! I love your videos! They’re awesome.
My family and I drove to Lake George last week and the foliage is just so gorgeous! This is what makes me love the fall season. I wasn’t able to take photos of the scenery myself coz I was just enjoying the moment while it lasted 🧡🍂🍁

Wow, your videos are always beautiful but the video footage of the woods and water in this one is just stunning! Love the style of your cottage too and Charlie is just adorable. I have similar mixed feelings about Fall too, the leaves are beautiful but it's sad to see all of the plants die. And yeah, the bare trees and the bleak sky of winter can be hard to take, but the new-fallen snow is lovely and bright, and then there's Spring. Anyway, lovely work and I enjoy your channel so much.
Beautiful footage. Living in Minnesota, we often have very colorful Autumns, however, despite the great color this year, the leaves dropped too fast and too soon. I live in the upper central area and the majority of the trees are almost completely bare. It was colorful, but we got below freezing weather a bit early in the season, and once that happens, the rest changes fast. I look at the leaves as natures carpet, especially on the trails in the woods because they will be left to decompose and provide nutrients to the earth and will also help hold the moisture in, which is very helpful due to the various areas suffering from drought. Every little bit helps. We mulch as many as we can and then to keep our neighbors happy, we rake and bag the rest. Can you tell how much I wish we weren't so compelled to worry about our lawns and the cutting and the raking when if we left things more to nature, we could be helping nature instead of taking everything away? I am glad you are still posting and I hope you will continue.

Watching on Nov 4th. The change seemed to come quickly. I love the colours of the fallen leaves on the ground and the sound of them crunching beneath your feet. I don't think it's possible to take a terrible photo in the fall - everywhere is so pretty...love your dream - sounds so beautiful....one of my most favorite memories was going with a group of friends, all of us in our early 20's and skating on a farmer's frozen pond in the Ottawa Valley. One of our friends made Borscht and homemade bread. We shared a bottle of Chianti in the large, Canadian Log Beam home. "This is what I want." I said to myself, feeling so warm, cozy and content with the couples that had joined us. We spent the rest of the afternoon skating on the frozen pond until sunset. The dream of living rural did come true but not yet that of the Log Beam home. Although, I do have a close friend who lives in a 100 year old cabin that overlooks a Beaver Pond and I feel very much 'at home' when I visit. Loved the shots along the Delaware River also. You standing in the woods with the falling leaves was so beautiful.Etheral. I read somewhere that the falling leaves are prayers of our ancestors praying for us from heaven. I love your videos. Thank you for filming these, narrating, editing and uploading...they feed and nourish my soul that lift my spirits. Missing my island home, hoping to move back home in December. Hi Kate, all the footage is beautiful. Here in south Arkansas we have drought. Leaves are green still and then brown. No real color at all, but it is the way our area is most of the time. We go from winter to summer, skipping spring and autumn it seems. But finding joy in what ever comes is a must. Thank you for your videos they are much enjoyment and appreciated. It's gotten here in the high 20s at night in the smokies and many of the leaves in the trees around my home have fallen but still surrounded by evergreens; the ground in the back has become a blanket of colors. New York is one of the few states I haven’t visited. Seeing this video makes me want to take a trip cross country again. I live in Oregon, very close the Columbia River Gorge, where there are lots of stunning sights & waterfalls. I thought it didn’t get much prettier than this area, but your footage has made me realize that the United States has many beautiful areas & they all are special to those who live there. So so beautiful. We are in spring here in South Africa and its been a pretty spectacular one where I live in a tiny cottage on a farm in the Eastern Cape. The fields are lush and green and the wild flowers are just huge carpets of colour as far as you can see. I am so blessed to live where I do - as are you, it is absolutely beautiful there. Thank you for those stunning impressions (despite not being prepared). No, we don’t have such a colourful fall here in Ireland, at least not in the Southwest where I live. Neither do we have temperatures around 30 very often (just occasionally, more like for 1-2 hours for just a few nights). We had some very windy days recently, but most trees are still greenish, as the temperatures are still moderate. Yesterday after walking the dog I came back sweating despite my rather very thin jacket (more like a cardigan). No, it’s not my fav season, but knowing that Mother Nature needs her resting time is fine for me. All the best for the cold spell!

My family and I drove to Lake George last week and the foliage is just so gorgeous! This is what makes me love the fall season. I wasn’t able to take photos of the scenery myself coz I was just enjoying the moment while it lasted 🧡🍂🍁

Wow, your videos are always beautiful but the video footage of the woods and water in this one is just stunning! Love the style of your cottage too and Charlie is just adorable. I have similar mixed feelings about Fall too, the leaves are beautiful but it's sad to see all of the plants die. And yeah, the bare trees and the bleak sky of winter can be hard to take, but the new-fallen snow is lovely and bright, and then there's Spring. Anyway, lovely work and I enjoy your channel so much.

Beautiful footage. Living in Minnesota, we often have very colorful Autumns, however, despite the great color this year, the leaves dropped too fast and too soon. I live in the upper central area and the majority of the trees are almost completely bare. It was colorful, but we got below freezing weather a bit early in the season, and once that happens, the rest changes fast. I look at the leaves as natures carpet, especially on the trails in the woods because they will be left to decompose and provide nutrients to the earth and will also help hold the moisture in, which is very helpful due to the various areas suffering from drought. Every little bit helps. We mulch as many as we can and then to keep our neighbors happy, we rake and bag the rest. Can you tell how much I wish we weren't so compelled to worry about our lawns and the cutting and the raking when if we left things more to nature, we could be helping nature instead of taking everything away? I am glad you are still posting and I hope you will continue.

Watching on Nov 4th. The change seemed to come quickly. I love the colours of the fallen leaves on the ground and the sound of them crunching beneath your feet. I don't think it's possible to take a terrible photo in the fall - everywhere is so pretty...love your dream - sounds so beautiful....one of my most favorite memories was going with a group of friends, all of us in our early 20's and skating on a farmer's frozen pond in the Ottawa Valley. One of our friends made Borscht and homemade bread. We shared a bottle of Chianti in the large, Canadian Log Beam home. "This is what I want." I said to myself, feeling so warm, cozy and content with the couples that had joined us. We spent the rest of the afternoon skating on the frozen pond until sunset. The dream of living rural did come true but not yet that of the Log Beam home. Although, I do have a close friend who lives in a 100 year old cabin that overlooks a Beaver Pond and I feel very much 'at home' when I visit. Loved the shots along the Delaware River also. You standing in the woods with the falling leaves was so beautiful.Etheral. I read somewhere that the falling leaves are prayers of our ancestors praying for us from heaven. I love your videos. Thank you for filming these, narrating, editing and uploading...they feed and nourish my soul that lift my spirits. Missing my island home, hoping to move back home in December. Hi Kate, all the footage is beautiful. Here in south Arkansas we have drought. Leaves are green still and then brown. No real color at all, but it is the way our area is most of the time. We go from winter to summer, skipping spring and autumn it seems. But finding joy in what ever comes is a must. Thank you for your videos they are much enjoyment and appreciated. I am quite sure you will find much beauty to capture during your winter and share with us all. In Joy
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience. It's gotten here in the high 20s at night in the smokies and many of the leaves in the trees around my home have fallen but still surrounded by evergreens; the ground in the back has become a blanket of colors.

I understand your feelings about winter. Yes, it is also very beautiful - at first. It is however, just too long. By the time February approaches and there is no relief in sight, I feel like I'm ready to scream. Life is just harder in the winter with the snow and ice!

New York is one of the few states I haven’t visited. Seeing this video makes me want to take a trip cross country again. I live in Oregon, very close the Columbia River Gorge, where there are lots of stunning sights & waterfalls. I thought it didn’t get much prettier than this area, but your footage has made me realize that the United States has many beautiful areas & they all are special to those who live there. So so beautiful. We are in spring here in South Africa and its been a pretty spectacular one where I live in a tiny cottage on a farm in the Eastern Cape. The fields are lush and green and the wild flowers are just huge carpets of colour as far as you can see. I am so blessed to live where I do - as are you, it is absolutely beautiful there. Thank you for those stunning impressions (despite not being prepared). No, we don’t have such a colourful fall here in Ireland, at least not in the Southwest where I live. Neither do we have temperatures around 30 very often (just occasionally, more like for 1-2 hours for just a few nights). We had some very windy days recently, but most trees are still greenish, as the temperatures are still moderate. Yesterday after walking the dog I came back sweating despite my rather very thin jacket (more like a cardigan). No, it’s not my fav season, but knowing that Mother Nature needs her resting time is fine for me. All the best for the cold spell!
