Metallica - Harvester Of Sorrow Guitar Cover

- Thanks for watching again. I've had this requested many times and I thought it's about time. I went back to the drawing board to create a closer tone than my previous Metallica covers. This and Justice For All are the first songs I ever tried to learn, it's funny how it brought me back, playing it again 20 something years later. It's not the hardest song but James playing is so clinical that even the simple riffs are somewhat demanding.
As always, recorded through garageband using Amplitube Custom Shop and Roland FA-66 interface. Edited in Premiere CS6. Anyone wanting presets or questions answered feel free to email me Lambchopper678@me.com
im sitting on the toilet.....im headbanging
both heads are a bangin!!!! the noggin & your pen15 head!!!!
Me also
Better acoustics man.
Same
Same
The riff at 1:25 is one of metallica's heaviest riffs of all their songs
Diapason Dlvg try the thing that should not be for heaviness
Benito Faggotini Riff after Dyers Eve solo.
it’s their best riff
More like 4:15
Nah leper messiah man
0:32 is one of the most badass riffs i've ever heard!!!
why do you think we're here! ! ! ! ! ! !
One of the first songs for me too because it looked pretty easy... not so much ! That part between 4:10 and 4:50 is fantastic.
sepultubob thats my favorite part of the song i had to learn how to play it
İts really easy to play
that part is hard
nobody can use an e power chord better than james hetfield, he's built so many of the coolest riffs ever from there, lol! great cover bro, excellent tone!
think the Jackson USA soloist is my next guitar on the list... I love the sound of a jackson... they speak for themselvs...
Agreed, a nice soloist would be pretty cool. Really nice guitars
hooked up with a JCM 800 ummm.. that's better than sex...
I started playing way back in 1988, RLT, MOPs and this were the first albums I used to learn how to play (apart for Sex Pistols and the Clash et al). Nice Rhodes you got there, I had a 1992 Jackson RR Custom built to my specs, awesome axe (but expensive) a JCM 900 full stack, 1958 VOX, an orginal Orange all valve head, Boss ME5, Ovation 12 string plus lots more. Had to give up and sell them all due to physical induries. Still have a Dean VMNT "Rust in Peace" and a JEM7VW. This vid makes me want to try again, so keep going and keep posting. Thanks for the inspiration. Sub'd. ~ Guy
Don't stop.
TheOneTrueSpLiT I know this comment is old, but I'd still like to know how things are going for you.
Have you recovered? Have you gotten back in to it?
I hope you're still doing what you love, brother.
I had a Jackson Dinky Reverse head back in 94 or 95, was a love/hate relationship, had the locking nuts etc but would go out of tune, literally, every few minutes, even took it to several guitar shops to get them to look at it and they couldn't work it out. Looked way to cool not to play, compared to other guitar a Westfield, something, but everytime I tried same thing would happen. Random rant for the day.
This album is full of some great riffs, by the way thanks for the presets, I actually didn't buy I only have the free version of amplitude they give you so I borked there.
Funny though, when I tried to buy amplitude metal I put in the payment info and all and the transaction couldn't process. Didn't really give me a real reason either, probably will try again soon
Sorry but I had to give you the 667th like.
Chill dude it ain't ac/dc
It's like a mini-live show, I love watching these...
Every bit as good as we've come to expect. All your covers are top notch. This made me remember how much I enjoy this album. Thanks!
Man ur my boss... inspiration... ur d best guitar player ive been through on RUclips.. you're gonna get serious followers dude.
Thanks very much man, far too kind
Omg! This is insane Man!!! You're great. Congrats from Brazil.
Ive been chasing that tone since the first time I heard it. Love your videos. Its 3am and Im not tired cause all these AJFA songs got me pumped. I need that software.
David White there's apps on your phone that can replicate the sound of old mesa boogies like the mark iv but i still haven't found a good copy of the mark iic+. But look it up and you can probably find the computer software that can replicate that godlike tone
Riff was so heavy my speakers broke through my desk
This solo always gives me chills.
dude, your guitar is beautiful, what's that model? Excellent cover btw :D
+Max Prezas Thanks mate, it's a Rhoads RR5 Japan. I'll never sell this guitar
+LambChopper678 btw, what tabs are you using for the solo? there are many on the internet but i'd like to use the same as yours. could you send me a link, please?
I don't use any sorry mate, I learn everything by ear
+Max Prezas i use songsterr.com
+LambChopper678 how did you train your ear? any recommendations?
Dude....that tone!
Finally someone that plays the distorted intro riff on the 5th fret on the D string instead of an open G
You've always got the best Metallica Guitar Covers on RUclips ❤🔥👍
awesome stuff bro, as always
Awesome!!!
Well done mate! I've been trying to get all the changes on that one right for decades, and along comes LambChop, makin' it look easy again! I especially appreciated the way you fit all the hook riffs in there, even whilst switching guitar parts! ALL HAIL CHOPPER!!!
You should check out the band Sylosis if you haven't already. They have some seriously kickass songs. Would love to see a how you do with one of their songs.
I've got all their albums, they're pretty cool. Some of those guitar parts are over my head
great cover of the great song
so clean
Badass song. Badass Jackson.
do the four horsemen please
Awesome tone, man, keep going to create perfect covers! You ROCK!!!
great cover, great shirt.
One of my first Metallica songs that i tried to cover!!! awesome man!!! Ur too good....appreciate ur work... from India
Ive been learning by ear also it's much better than tabs, brings up improv skills alot
it would be epic to see something from the ride the lightning album. this kicked some serious ass though. \m/
Very good ...............
Absolutely nailed it. Yahhhhh
Yeeeah! This is good
Wish i had your talent!!
Honestly man it's 5% talent and 95% practice. I've been learning the guitar consistently for over 20 years. I see teenagers ripping way beyond my ability after 3 or 4 years
LambChopper678 . I feel your pain!
Great cover that song always is fun to play really easy riffs.
Pefect as always
nice tone
poppyhimbo shitty tone in my opinion. No sustain and too much mids. Needs better balance
Lets see you do it better!
though i have to agree with the part about sustain
Christian Whitmore he doesn't have to do it better to be able to criticize. I hate this point of view, dumb as fuck.
Christian Whitmore How does one "do it better" when we're talking about something as subjective as tone?
I mean, yeah, the guy didn't have to be a dick about it, but still.
Just amazing! Wish my cover was this great, and had this many views ahahah. Pls keep it up man!
i love this cover perfect essence of song
One of the only musics I like from Metallica, I love Megadeth, yeah...hahaha.
But that one is my childhood all over again!
no one fucking cares
You care enough to comment.
+Don Smith silence
Love the tone!!
Hey do you prefer the Jackson RRXMG or the Alexi 600? I can't find an Alexi anywhere in a local store but there is a cheap one on ebay. I have played the RRXMG and loved it, incredibly fast neck, but I like the fact that the LTD has a slight cutaway. I understand the Jackson has more tone options 2 pickups but in terms of playability which do you like better? And which one sounds better?
Dylan Ross I think the Alexi's are one of the best metal guitars out there. They're built a lot better than the RRXMG's with 3 piece necks, quarter sawn, original floyds, ebony fingerboard and amazing sustain that sounds really rich. The fact that there's only one pickup doesn't matter at all. I thought it would bother me but quite the opposite. I like them so much I since bought the scythe model cheap on eBay and the older white one with the thick pin stripes that was damaged as a project.
LambChopper678 I got the Alexi months ago but was quickly stolen. Loved loved loved that guitar, not even just for metal. It simply has great playability.
Tried an alexi and it was fantastic, regret not buying it
Dude that tone is sick as fuck!!!!!
fav guitar youtuber!!! \m/
Sick af
“EXCELLENT!”
This is awesome wish i had the talent to play this
The best song
realy nice and thick sound.
That's Art !
NIIIICEEEEEEAAAHHHHHHH!!! \m/
Amazing
Amazing man
Fucking amazing man
Language of the mad
Good job Bro!!!!!
Good job - I've never seen someone play power chords with their pinky but it's working well for you, obviously
C T James plays then with pinky
Bruhhhhhhh why is this so good?¿
awesome !
Hearing it like that and with the appropriate vox this could be a Pantera song.
Muito bom!!!!
very nice!
Master of Puppets tone... not bad
nailed
hey bro. awesome tune love the wah sound. I know it's through the PC setup ya have. but for your own amusement would ya get a Zac wylde Sig crybaby wah? I hear good comments about those considering investing in one for my gear. what's your thoughts??
Awesome cover man! you should make a video on your rig and effects. I saw your dimebag one and thought that was pretty spot on! btw you in sydney?
Thanks man, I live up in Townsville North QLD
Ah the Jackson!!!
no one talks about how heavy 2:37 is. Lars' drumming makes the riff sound SOOO much heavier. Love metallica and AJFA.
TAB TAB TAB TAB
how do you get the backing track? I've been searching for weeks a good one with the vocals and I found nothing...
(sorry if my English is bad, I'm from Argentina)
You're my role model
Bro awesome cover also which guitar?
one of the 1st songs i learned on guitar AWESOME song :) btw what is your education u seem pretty clever do u have any music degrees or diplomas or is this just a hobby
For the intro, can't you play open g instead of playing 4th string,5th fret since there the same note? Or is that just personal preference?
You can but James plays 5th
Damn you can really play clean!
Good mate
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
HI. What guitar can you suggest to play thrash metal like slayer, testament, anthrax?
p.s. awesome playing btw and sorry for my english
Anything that doesn't have single coils, something from Jackson or ESP. They're all good
Thanks
oh damn I already posted that. And yes master roshi it sounds way better and heavier without that strum the way they do it live
Where would one get a good backing track for this song with vocals? all i can find is midi guitar and sampled drums
Mr Fork gonna have to play along to the song
Nice tshirt
some coroner pls
I know this old now and you probably won't see this but if you do, is there anyway I could get the preset for the tone? Fucking awesome
Hey, LambChopper. I know you probably won't even read this but I was thinking if maybe you could please send me only the guitar recording of this so I can create my own backing track so I can play with it in a school festival I'll have by the end of the year
I do t have it sorry mate, I delete my projects as soon as I finish them. I don’t have keep any recordings
Great cover. Where did you get the backing track?
Amazing! Do you have backing track this song. Im from Brazil.
No I don't sorry mate
This song is so hard to play 😬
What type Jackson is that? It looks amazing! Welldone!
thanks mate it's a Randy Rhoads MIJ RR5
LambChopper678 you are better than kirk
No way man, he belted these solos out when I was in 4th grade. I still struggle with Shortest Straw solo, toughest solo to date from Kirk
LambChopper678 so, u have perfected this song, and I love the master of puppets cover you did
I like your shirt
Can you make this vid available to view in the usa?
You serious? Is it not available on all platforms? I have no control over this, the rights for this are owned by the warner music group. They decide who can and can't watch it. This is wrong, I'm sorry.
It's disappointing that I can't watch the video. Your vids kick ass
I'm looking in the advanced settings now and there is nothing to suggest it is not available in some countries. Is it a mobile phone you are trying to view it on? Get a different youtube app or try your computer.
Heavy riffing
Do u use 3 notes while POWER CHORD slide or just 2? )
it varies, sometime 3 others 2.
James Hetfeild like this
Very curious as to why this is "unavailable in your county"...aren't you in the U.S.?
I'm in Australia, but the Warner Music Group decide where it can and can't be viewed. I have no control over this rubbish, they can do whatever they want.
LambChopper678 Metallica is racist against us.
That beginning little riff is actually bass? Is that what I saw? lol
nah, no way. doesn't sound like a bass to me, and I'm a bass player
I mean there is a chance. Remember Lemmy played bass, he just didn't play like anyone else, he turned up the gain enough and with the way he played it it sounded like a guitar
Great playing, but the riff if you listen carefuly doesnt go da da da dnt dnt dnt da, it goes da da da dnt dnt daaaaa. Hard to explin this way but the last e cord is held open longer.
Where did you get the shirt from?
I can’t remember, it was years ago sorry
