  • Ultra Glaco from Soft 99 has been voted the #1 automobile glass window and windshield coating by many people because of it's durability and lasting protection. In this video I talk about the product, packaging, claims, and ultimately the application and a quick test after the product has been on for about a week. Is it as good as the claims? Watch the video and check it out. Also stay tuned for additional updates on the Ultra Glaco via shorts and other long form videos. Also check out my other glass coating video(s) where I test to see if Ultra Glaco is as good in 2024 as other newcomers to the market.

Excellent video. Mike; I've been using BC4 Glass Sealant from Apex Auto Detailing for the last year. Simple application and just re-apply every few months. Works great. Give it a try.

You must use the Glaco Glass Compound before applying the Glaco ultra or any of their glass coatings. It's the important step

They do not make this claim anywhere in the instructions.

From someone that has used a few bottles of this, none of mine have been this bad. Even after watching this i went outside with a handheld ryobi blower (not as strong as the ego) and on a wet dirty windscreen it had no problems getting it totally dry and mine was applied in January. The only this i noticed. i left it on for a good 10 minutes and it hazed up a lot more than yours and was super easy to wipe off?

That is very interesting. I tested with the blower on the rear window as well and it did the same thing. I may do a small strip as a reapplication then and leave it dry for a longer amount of time and see how it turns out. It definitely did not wipe easily, even before the 10 minute mark. I only used the blower on the lowest setting though that you could get when pulling the trigger. On high it would have cleared every drop on the window, even the non coated side.

Yeah it really hazes up and wipes off like a good polish on paint. But I do always polish the windscreen right before applying it.

Hello Mike did you use the Glaco compound first to clean the window? I believe it’s a 2 part process. I do the 2 part process and had no problems.

I did not as they don't sell it as a kit. I'll look into the cleaner though. For example, I have the Gyeon View Evo and it comes as a kit. CARPRO comes as a kit as well.

    Thanks for that.
Did you dispose of the cloth after buffing? My concern is the cloth would crystalise and then you use it again and scratch your screen.
I use Glaco DX. It claims 3 months and i genuinely achieve that. My issue is it lasts 3 months, so come to apply in winter and the instructions say 'above 10 celcius'. Well i tried below and it failed instantly. So i fancy trying the Ultra so i don't have to apply in cold weather.
    Cheers

When I'm done with the leveling towels I immediately put them in a bucket of either microfiber detergent or laundry detergent. The plush buff towels go in there too. The coating isn't able to harden on the towels, and if it did I don't reuse the leveling towels on paint again. (I do use the buff towel on my own) Paying customers get new towels, but the aftercare process is the same. As far as the Glaco, I was fairly disappointed that a little fallout caused such an issue as compared to the Ethos next to it.

Yes, that's why I am here👍🏼💪 I love the Glaco products, which I have used for years with customers on details. Something I also do is put some Rinseless on the windshield fluid reservoir and recommend customers changing their wipers for silicone wiper blades since they last longer and the silicone molecules stay on windshield making them more hydrophobic. I have them and recommend them from SILBLADE. GLACO also has products for eyeglasses too.

Using rinseless in the reservoir is something I could never do here, unless a company came out with some type of -20 below protection rinseless that we could use in the winter. Maybe I'll pitch that as the next idea to someone.

@1stfrompuertorico568 hey I like that advice my friend! I'm in Florida and going to try the rinseless advice!!! Brillant!!

yes, if you live in a cold state the Rinseless will not be advisable for your area. It is advisable for the Caribbean as well as South American countries and countries like Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and in the USA in states like Florida, Mississippi and certain parts of California and Southern Louisiana, Texas and Arizona if it's not on areas that get below the 32 degrees Fahrenheit. For those other states it could be something like Rain X
