Thank God I live in Michigan. The maximum property tax increase (unless the property is sold) is the official inflation rate or 5%, whichever is the lowest. The Republicans put this law in place over 20 years ago. I own my home and the property tax is about $1200 total for the year. I live in an area where crime is very low and only one house in our area has "bars" on the doors/windows. I have lived in my home for about 6 years. No issues at all, other than a couple of times children would knock on the door and run down the street to see if anyone would come to the door. I am aware of a bicycle taken when the child left it by the street overnight, christmas presents were left in a van overnight and a van full of items (appeared the people were moving) that was left overnight had what appeared to be unlocked doors opened and a teen was seen taking a coiple of items down the street. If doors were locked and the bicycle was placed in the back yard I would know of ZERO thefts in my area in 6 years and yet the streets at both ends of my street have been repaved. People need to leave Illinois or vote out the Democrats.
You may rent but someone OWNS your property and that person's property tax went up which will cause your rent to possibly go up again , the owner has to make up the slack somewhere.
Either someone likes their money or they're purposely pushing people out
You will eventually own nothing and be happy. Make NO mistake, and be very careful who you vote for.😢
They like giving the money to the illegals
Abandon Illinois! Run for your life! Run! My best acting. Thank you! Thank you! Oh you're too kind!
That Pappas lady was SO condescending when she explained what is going on. Unbelievable she got the position.
Criminal. This is a legitimate reason to protest.
Absolutely. Peaceful but persistent protest. Be the biggest thorn in their side until it's fixed.
Peaceful isn't gonna cut it. Were our founding fathers peaceful during the revolutionary war?
Just abolish property taxes, these clowns don't know how to do their jobs. #Youonlyhaveonejob Why do we still have townships? It's not 1850 anymore.
You never own anything in America.
That's the plan, own nothing and be happy.

Obviously the pursuit of Bureaucratic Excellence has been achieved!
Yall are going to have to vote those county officials out of office. And vote for republicans because republicans reduce taxes.
This is happening in ALL OF CROOK COUNTY..
When the homeowners leave, so will the businesses. Good luck crook county. They’ll be Detroit in a couple of years.
CROOK COUNTY
These propaganda journalists love JB and his high taxes. They act like they care but don’t. They have to help the “newcomers”…
I am glad I rent even though that went up too.
