No way she spent anywhere near 200K on home maintenance and improvements! She's a thief and a liar!
Facts
If she spend 200k she should be able to show receipts for what she spent and what she spent it on. She cant. . .
@@NTATchannelNickTaylor My thoughts exactly! To prove she's not lying all she has to do is show receipts. When my husband and I make any large purchases for the house (washer, dryer, etc..) we kept the receipts for longer than 2 years, because of the warranty if it was to break down.
@@maranathaacts1327 exactly ma'am
Why don't they just call her bluff and tell her to go ahead with a down payment if she really wants to buy the house? If the granddaughter is in a care facility and this lady already lives there (legal or not), why not have her start paying rent? I am not suggesting she get anything other than a month to month lease where both parties agree it can be terminated at will, but at least money will be coming in. She should also be required to have renters insurance.
That woman has never had $2,000 let alone $200,000 to put in that home!
She probably convinced someone to give her a line of credit against the house
And no sane person would spent 200.000 without a written agreement. She is lying
She stole the house from the disabled granddaughter. I've never seen a squatter who isn't pure EVIL!!!
My guess is that she was also using the disabled granddaughters identity. She doesn’t pay anymore mortgage or anything like that but who’s paying the property taxes?
How did she steal the house? The house wasn’t deeded to her illegally?
@@baderinwa1 the house wasn’t deeded to her. She has no legal right to it. The rightful owner is the disabled granddaughter according to the laws of intestate succession, and I’m only basing my thoughts on the video, I don’t know anything more than that. The fact that she has put in improvements does not give her any ownership rights. She claims that when she put in improvements suddenly they wanted the house back. Maybe when she was working on it they became aware that she was asserting some sort of claim on it.
A disabled person that can't live in it or take care of it. You're all greedy pieces of shit. No one owns it and I guess you'd prefer this woman back on the streets and committing crimes?
@@baderinwa1just because you didn't create a fake deed doesn't mean you can live there!! How does your comment even make sense? It doesn't.
How can a "vulnerable adult" who "lacks the mental capacity to make decisions" make a rental agreement with this squatter?!
Great point!
The police report says that she _may_ lack the capacity. The reporters didn't have access to the woman's diagnosis.
This woman is a thief. Period.
Charge her with a felony, and arrest her.

She offered to buy a house while not paying anything but putting over 200k into the home. That is a lie, sickening.
house should be sold and used for the granddaughters care.
This!!!
Yes
ABSOLUTELY!!
Good luck with that...
Agreed!
Taking advantage of a disabled person. This thief has no shame.
I she can put $200k into the house, she can buy her own house.
the LAND is worth 1/2 a million - any "upgrades" this lady made are on her own dime - if she want's the house she can PAY 1/2 million to the legal owner.
She needs proof
She’s lying !
My thoughts exactly!
Exactly. Those upgrades didn't cost nearly 200k.
She put 200k of renovations in the house?? That is such a lie, she is taking advantage of a deceased home owner and mental illness of the granddaughter. Squatters are so pathetic.
That house should be sold and the money given for the granddaughter's provision expenses
The woman deserves MINIMUM 10 years prison if not life.
With what Colorado has turned into, I highly doubt she'll even do one day in jail.
They said the granddaughter doesn't have the mental capacity to make adult decisions, she lives in a living facility,so how can this woman claim a verbal agreement
The pathetic interviewer didn't even ask such an obvious question
Oh well, the girl cant use it, Alone 😮
@@DesmondJohnson-og4oythen the home can actually be sold to someone and the profit can be used to help take care of the granddaughter
@@j.pappas9083 Such a pathetic comment...obviously didn't bother to consider they may have made the verbal agreement at some time prior to her mental capacity worsening.

Welcome to California.
@MrMustangrick I am going to just think that you made a simple mistake by saying, "Welcome to California." I am not just going to assume that you are one of those trumpwads that want to blame a democratic state for everything on purpose and just trying to make democrats look bad. I am an independent voter who voted for Reagan, Bush Sr, Carter, and Clinton. and i'm getting tired of seeing republicans trying to bring their party down. People who do that just make the republicans look bad. Anyways, they repeatedly mention that this was happening in Colorado.
@MrMustangrick But this is Lakewood CO….
There are laws that protect occupants ❤
Who's going to kick her out? The owner? Nope.
Make her prove she spent any $$ on that property. She should have contracts, receipts and bank records.
Have you watched the interview? Do you really expect her to have contracts?
I don’t believe she even has a verbal agreement. Her history of felony identity theft says it all. Once a thief….
100% agree.

Verbal leases should not be allowed... Everything should be documented, PERIOD
You know, body language speaks volumes. When asked if she was a "...squatter," while she verbally said, "No...," her head nodded, "Yes." Woman, get out.
That’s what I came to the comments to say!
Spot on guys!! I missed it but went back and that’s exactly what she does. Not only is she a sub par human, she’s not even a good liar. Lol

The fact this woman is taking advantage of a vulnerable handicapped person to steal this house is despicable.
That she thought she would get the house from a verbal agreement from someone in a facility that cannot leave, yet she says visits the property and talks to her, is horrifying. It's even more horrifying police and the city aren't doing anything about it.
I'd want her out too if those were the "improvements". If she spent 200k, it certainly wasn't on the house.

get that thief out the house
It’s really not a complicated legal issue. If there is deed for the property with one fee simple owner, who died without a will, then the property passes to his heirs, which is his disabled granddaughter. The verbal lease agreement is void because the granddaughter did not have capacity to enter into a binding contract. Even if granddaughter had capacity, a contract effecting an interest in property for longer than a year must be in writing or it is void. The squatter cannot claim her voluntary repairs or 1 year occupancy give her a right to the property. The squatter is not entitled to reimbursement for the cost of repairs unless she has proof of $200,000 in expenses and permission from the owner or that the repairs were a necessity to live in the home .
the state is allowing this to happen. it should have never gotten to this point.
@BetterTextLex I quite agree. The granddaughter probably said "If you need a place to stay for a while, I have an empty place but you may have to upgrade a few things to make it livable," and this alleged squatter pounced on the opportunity and embellished the "verbal agreement." Desperate times call for desperate measures!
@@lisadelpeche3371because the state is trying to steal the property too.
All true. And, when the rightful owner is disabled, that person is entitled to very capable representation.
Not necessarily depends on the state
How is it a lease if she didnt pay rent? Totally rubbish.
All squatters say that they aren't squatters. Thieves say that they aren't thieves, and robbers say that they don't rob. Step one in criminal playbook - Deny that you do what you do. No matter the evidence to the contrary.
That is so funny and so true , my buddy works with prisoners and I asked him this question. He started laughing and said in 20 years of working with prisoners he has had a handful of prisoners say the truth. @@bobdees6428 -- People who work with prisoners who are in various treatment programs have a different experience. Most will admit to their crimes, or at least to their version of them.
Back in my college days, I tagged along with some professionals who were visiting prisoners. One prisoner was pretty pissed at the system because they knew he was up to something but couldn't prove it, so made up something else. He freely admitted to growing significant quantities of pot -- this was well before the trend of legalizing it, and it was enough under our state's laws to put him away for decades. They (the police) couldn't get any evidence for this, but they used a traffic stop as a pretext to search his car. They found two brand-new "chemistry sets" (i.e. educational kits for kids) and charged him with possession of paraphernalia. He got a lot less time for the paraphernalia charges than he would have received if they caught him with his little grow operation, but someone was happy to get a conviction. That man died in prison, so I guess their little stunt did its job. (I don't do illegal drugs myself, including pot, but our country's knee-jerk response to anything marijuana-related is ridiculous.)
Very true and something so basic that most toddlers know that, but from my experience police don't know that. I've had police saying to me - when reporting serious crimes - "he says he didn't do it"!
This woman is a liar. There is no way she put over 200,000 into that house. It looks run down and the kitchen job looks horrible and choppy. No professional would have done a job like that.
If the grand daughter heir has a mental disability, I would guess she cannot legally enter into a contract whether verbal or on paper.
There is no way she put $200,000 into that house.

Of course she "wants the house". Her "improvements" look terrible and are likely damaging the value of the home. Make a will people. Unless you just don't care what happens to your property.
Can you imagine what 19 visits by the police and all the associated paperwork have cost the city?? This is a joke

So this liar spent 200,000 on the yard and the kitchen. Total BS and where did she come up with that much money? Bet anything she didn't get a bank loan and I don't know anyone that has that much money on hand. Ma'am! That is NOT YOUR HOUSE! She has the nerve to walk around the house and give a "tour" while letting the news reporter know that the house is 102 years old as if the house as been passed down to her through inheritance or something. She clearly only learned how to be a better criminal when she was locked up. 🧐🧐🧐
She'll soon find out how the legal system works in this case of property inheritance. This woman is not the owner. She can make a claim that she is - it isn't merited.
She already knew how to be a thief.

Of course it's Worth that amount. I guess you don't know that houses in certain areas can be even in worse shape than that house and half the size and still be even more money up to a million dollars?
I guess you don't know about real estate and location prices. Here's a hint. It has nothing to do with the home's size or condition. Another hint is it has to do with property.
The bigger story here is that small house that is partially falling apart is worth $500k? A half a million? Really? THAT house? Ew.
Right???
The lot is worth about $400k.
Squatter needs to be kicked the heck out and the home sold with money put in trust for granddaughter. I dont believe a thing that that squatter says.
$200k in upgrades? More like $2k or less in cheap materials. First step is to investigate this claim in court. Likely the judge will find that the $200k is a complete lie because she won't have receipts to justify anywhere close to that amount. If she lied for that and has a history of fraud that should impeach all of her self serving claims like the 'verbal lease' and her option to buy the home and she should be ordered to immediately vacate. She should also be charged with a crime. I think that would be considered 'conversion' where a person attempts to steal property through a scheme to defraud the owner. But I don't have much faith that will actually be any real justice here unless the news keeps running updates on this story.
