I love this video. How to modify a cheap ass harbor freight arbor press using an entire shop of high end power tools instead of just buying another high quality arbor press. Great video
👊👊 I ran out and used the mill and machined in the auto-ratcheting recess into both my 1-ton and 2-ton presses. They both work perfect. Also used the file to smooth out all the sharp touch points. Thanks for inspiration. Just what I needed last weekend. 😀

Love the tip of the magnet and HDPE on the bottom of the ram. Perfect for my leather work
About 10 years ago I just welded a large socket to the end of the pinion shaft and then any ratched can be used as a handle.
Your handle positioning solution is really smart!
Thank you!
I love seeing skills in motion and creative ideas that make things work better! Awesome!
Thanks for watching!
Hey that knob looks familiar 👍 Thanks again! Great video 👍
I just cant get over how you can make virtually anything! Awesome video!
That’s what makes it so fun!
Looks like your knob found a nice home 😁
Awesome work! The modification to the handle is genius. And the knob has to be my favourite bit. It’s sooo nice 😍
Thank you!
Looks like a worthwhile improvement to pressin' pens!
So beautiful..I need this universal smart edited efficient functional user friendly metal presser right now.
Thank you ..... I’m headed out to the shop now to start upgrading 👍👍😎👍👍

Fasten a piece of plywood to the bottom of the press for more stability. Then if needed, you can clamp the press to the bench with C clamps.
Nice job 👍
I’m in the process of modifying mine for leather work.
Nice! Are you threading the ram for rivet tools?
Thanks for this, that handle mod was genius!
No problem! Glad it was helpful!
Some great adaptions there.
Thanks Andy!
Very cool 😎
Very nice shop...tools for everything
Golly, is there any tool you don't have? As arbor presses go.. that's really pretty! 😊
Hey! I recognize that knob! Looks great.
Thanks!
I'm not yet up to making my own knob, but I'm having trouble finding a control knob with an M8x1.0 thread. They all seem to be M8x1.25.
That one is more difficult to find. Maybe McMaster Carr. Worst case you may have to get one with a hole and put a bolt in it.
Did you swap out the steel friction bolts for brass ones for any reason other than looks? Nice vid!
Thanks for watching! I like the way they look and they are less likely to mar up the ram since they are softer.
Super Awesome!
Nice
HDPE is a good idea. I always use my mill vise to press pens with some plywood to stop it marking. HDPE would be much better.
Pimp my Arbor Press edition hahah nice
You could have just removed the first tooth. Does the same thing. That's what I did.
Polishing your what? 😂😂
