Thank you for all the examples and ideas for tooling for an Arbor press, I'm presently updating mine to tap into the potential for many more projects. The felt lathe way wipers idea is win for sure! :)
Richard, Awesome video! I am looking at making some press attachments to help me bend some small parts made out of .030 aluminum or even possibly 16g steel. This video helps!
Thank you very much for this wonderful video. I just bought an AborPress and am now looking for various jigs for it. Your video is a great inspiration for it.
Great video. I just picked up a used arbor press for a specific purpose and thought I'd check out videos on what else could be done with it. You've got some great ideas here.
To preserve your cutting tools you should always place a piece of scrap leather under the one you're punching. This goes for even when you're not using the press. I went through a lot of punches before I learned that tip on another youtube video.
Great ideas. Unfortunately I don’t have a metal lathe. I wonder if I could use my wood lathe to do some of the milling. I guess the only way to know is to give it a try.
Hi. do you think it's feasable to flatten a bit of 6mm silver ingot? I'm thinking of getting one as to not hammer the metal before setting it in a rolling mill. but I'm not sure that this can do that
I just bought a 1 ton press to help with metal stamping for jewelry, but I'm not sure how to go about mounting it. My work spaces are Ikea desks unfortunately, but I was thinking I could use a wood tree stump.
A sturdy bench or table are best but anything is better than nothing. :) If you mount it to a heavy piece of Plywood then clamp to your table when needed may be an option. Cheers.
@@gillianharris9534 Look at carriage bolts. Up through the ply , with the threaded portion above. So that the nuts or wing nuts can secure the press.... Good luck!
What is the dimension of the hole at the bottom of the rack before it was drilled? I was planning a standard punch out of the box to use this in driving out pressed-fit pins.
Happy new year man !! Just wondering if you could or be interested in selling a set of tools for the press . Please let me know if you be interested . I don't have many tools but I would like to get a press and bam be ready. Thanks

Never really had a use for an arbor press . I think you enlighten me on the possibility of different tooling to use.
The idea to make the press a pseudo ratcheting press is top notch!
The cup washer concept was totally worth it
Thanks. :)
Very precise and very well done and professionally done job
It is very informative
Very nice video to understand functioning of Arbour press and cutting techniques, thanks for sharing with us.

Like several others that have commented, I recently purchased a 3 ton press, and your video has been very helpful-
I appreciate the feedback. Cheers!
I would be tempted to replace the set screw in the ram, with one that had a spring loaded ball nose detent.
Thanks! One of your tooling ideas did happily surprise me! Best regards always.
Perfect! Thanks.
Nice little video, I have one of those presses, but only considered using it for prressing bushing and bearings, thanks for the tip!
Glad to help. Cheers.

no and good luck
Have you thought of adding spring to pull arm upward during multi tooling ?
Great video! What did you use for the longer handle. What was the length and OD? Method?
Thanks! I used 1018 cold rolled. It is 5/8 inch. I keep a bunch of 1018 in different dimesnions in my shop. It is cheap and also welds easy. Cheers.
@@ChannelofRichPierik Thank You. What length did you use? Your Mods to the Arbor Press were very useful.
@@elizabethrogers6897 double the original. Cheers.
I welded a half inch drive socket on the end of my spline gear and use a ratchet. when I dont want the ratchet I attach a breaker bar.

I think you need a higher tonnage machine. Cheers.
Pretty awesome but most people don't have the tooling to make those custom pieces. Might be cool to make and sell kits.
That's what you should do. Get a lathe or find someone with a lathe and make kits.
Where did you get the round press that goes on the the press ram??
I made it using my metal lathe. Cheers.
@@ChannelofRichPierik thank you sir, do you sell them??
@@terryswails1191 I would. Send dimensions here. And I can give you a price. Cheers.

What was the cone angle you machined for the top punch on the hole punch set? It seems to work well! Nice job
Hey Wonderwolf. I is 110 degree included angle. Cheers.
What is the dimension of the hole at the bottom of the rack before it was drilled? I was planning a standard punch out of the box to use this in driving out pressed-fit pins.
Would like to use this on this application if it can take standard punch: ruclips.net/video/EL4xzwKCByw/видео.html
There was not a hole prior to drilling it. Cheers.
Do you sell the complete set as we see it??? and for how much???
Hi Aaron. I don't sell them. Cheers.
