When we go to a temple we get different feeling because for long time the prayer and scriptures are ready. The power of that gets imbeded intinthe building and they reflect that to us.Golden temple or Harmandir sahib lots of people have died in defending it many a times. There sacrifice and sacrifice of Gurus have great power and that surrounds the Harmandir sahib or any temple. This is also true for the people who r spiritual. They emitt same feeling when we go in their presence.
