A few tips from a Londoner: You will walk a lot; wear comfortable shoes and expect to cover 10km or more a day exploring. Get one of the several public transport apps- these will give you bus and tube routes and times. Public transport is the only sensible way to get around other than walking. Note some bus routes are almost the same as those of tour busses and a fraction the cost. Avoid the West End unless going to a show- it is a tourist rip off. The Tower of London is by far the best attraction; expensive but worth it. Avoid Oxford Street like the plague; if you must go shopping go to Liberty on Regent St. Never go to chain restaurants. Go a couple of streets back from the main tour areas and find smaller places for far better food. Traditional British food is mostly in pubs, but you will find amazing Indian (esp in the east of London), Chinese (esp Soho), Italian, Greek, Jamaican, and many more; Indian food is essentially British to many people. Allow a day for the Museums at South Kensington- Natural History, Science and (my fave) Victoria and Albert. Don't overdo it. If it is feeling a bit much, go to one of the beautiful parks and wind down. Crime to tourists is low BUT there are pick pockets and phone snatchers about so keep an eye on what you are carrying.
I agree! I got to London a lot and did the touristy things gradually but I just say...don't take someone else's holiday. Don't let people discourage you from riding the Eye, seeing Picadilly Circus or going to the M&M and Lego stores. You may not stay LONG but if it's what your trip is planned for, you MUST do it. I agree, the stretch of Shrek etc is great for children. My only advice is that you don't have to do the Dungeon AND London Bridge Experience.
Thanks! I also get that "wow, this city is absolutely amazing" feeling when I watch other travel RUclipsrs visit Copenhagen (where I live) - it's good to get that little reminder every now and then 😎
I like the way you cover things without going into too much detail, although I don’t know why I’m watching as I’m a Londoner! At times your accent sounds like you’re from Liverpool 😂. Good video as usual and just to say I love Copenhagen 👍🏻
Another fantastic and focused travel vlog crucial to get an insider's view. London is so sprawling and has so Monday options. These ones in your content were great suggestions. Happy New Year Kris all the best in 2025. Hope to see more vlogs from you. 😊
Another excellent London video, Kris! I see you went to the Devonshire Arms... what do you think about it and the Guinness in there? I've seen it all over Instagram and want to visit so bad haha
Thanks a lot! Haha, well spotted 😎 I went there on a Friday morning at around 11:15am because I knew it would be rammed later in the day and I thought it would be pretty empty (they open at 11)... Boy, I was wrong - it was literally jam-packed and I couldn't get a seat 😅 The Guinness was incredibly smooth, though, and the pub is lovely. Is it worth travelling across town to visit? Probably not, but it's definitely worth checking out for a quick one if you're in Soho/Central London ✌️
Thank you! I must say, you are a very charming and handsome man! Great channel! One day I will visit England. It has been a dream of mine since I was 12 years old.
You still have the same haircut 🤣 I did the London Eye on my first trip over but have yet to do the Thames river Cruise. The Pubs are great for fish & chips but I don't understand the mushy peas? Just why?! I love the National museum and did not know that tiny structure was a police station so thanks for that! This was a great video. Have you been to Sky garden for the view and a drink? Oh wait, you don't drink...
Hahaha, true 😅 Oh I actually love the mushy peas, but I agree - it's super weird 😀 Haha! I actually had Sky Garden and Horizon 22 on the list for this video, but I booked it pretty last minute, so I couldn't get tickets 😫 thanks for your comment!
Hello great info! We will be visiting London for the first time in Spring. We are so excited I am doing lots of research to ensure a safe and efficient trip. Would you be able to show us what's the best way to travel from Heathrow airport to any hotel in London? via tube, bus, or private transpo? Also, is it better to get pocket wifi or sim card? Thank you!
Thank you! How to get from Heathrow to your hotel in London would depend greatly on what area you're staying in... However, usually, the newly opened Elizabeth Line is the best mode of transport as you can get to Central London (stations like Paddington, Bond Street, Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon and Liverpool Street) and from there either walk to your hotel or get the tube to a station nearer to where you're staying. I'd get a SIM card instead of pocket wifi ✌️
wait you don't like cheese? I'm not sure I trust your judgement anymore lol Thanks for the video ! I had planned to skip the London Eye since other vloggers labeled it as a tourist trap but at the end of the day I think the kids would enjoy it! Cheers!
If you can't trust a guy who likes steak & ale pie and drinks Guinness who can you trust? I've been to London at least half a dozen times and most visits I go Kensington to visit Harrods. Would you know what else there is to do in Kensington beside shop...it is such a cool area.
Hahaha, I know right 🤝 I'll put "a video on things to do in Kensington" on my to-do list. From the top of my head: National History Museum and the Science Museum, Kynance Mews, a gig at the Royal Albert Hall and for some reason, I've always liked Kensington Church Street with the iconic Churchill Arms.
You’re coming to London and drinking that inferior Irish beer? Stout porter is originally a London style of beer and there are so many British breweries, including a number in lindin London of course, that do it much better.i recommend a pub called The Harp, on Chandos Place, very close to Trafalgar Square.
No way. The London Eye is NOT worth it IMHO. Very expensive and you can't really see anything. Go to the Top of St. Paul's for a great view and info. Also, you can use your oyster card to ride one of the thames ferries. No narrative but a fraction of the cost!
Just curious did you ever live in London? Since most of your must see sights are dam expensive and not worth it...did you get beef burger at the Hardrock Cafe as well?;) Just curious to see this video and none of my free quality sights are even mentioned...everyone knows...London is the least English part of the UK and is massively overpriced...why are you staying in Leicester Square?...you just mentioned the great tube network...why not outside of zone 1/2 and save money...also London is an awful meat grinder after the first 6 months. I guess you have enough money for the M&M store which is pointless consumerism in London and NYC. I would just mention the free sights...Brit Museum is a good one...the parks...football options, West End...the days trips out of the city...the noise and planes in London is crushingly loud...the best thing about visiting the UK now is that the English screwed themselves with Brexit and the pound has tanked...I was there when it was 2.4 to the Can $...now it much lower. The best time I had in London was getting on a plane to anywhere else in Europe...most likely somewhere sunny at half the price...Croatia, Portugal, Czech Rep...Hungary on and on...but I guess with smart phones now...everyone is a travel expert...

Crazy concept! Still don't go to Leicester Square

Great review! Thanks 🙏!
Thank you 🇬🇧
I loved this video! I am bringing my 12 and 15 year old to London next month, so it was particularly fitting for me. That meat pie looked so good!!
Thanks a lot! It was amazing tbh 🙌 Have a lovely trip to London 🇬🇧
A student of mine from Mexico loved the food in London, and was especially taken by the various forms of meat pies here.
Thank you, travelling this March❤
Cheers, have a great London trip 🇬🇧
Thanks for this video!

What about spuds. Is it worth going there
I haven't been, I'm afraid
Yes, worth it to spend the extra money to stay in center-city. Otherwise, too much time (and money) is lost travelling into town each day.
Great things to see and do. Makes me ready to go back to London and check them out. So much to do in this great city. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot 🙏

Natural history museum is a must. Amazing inside and out
V+A museum trumps anything else in the area. Great cafe in there too.

I am visiting London on the 20th of this month from Sweden. I have an American passport and just found out I need an ETA to visit Great Britain .
Quick and easy to get.
@@charlieunderwood1311yes it was.
I live in NY and Leicester Square and Leicester Square sounds like Times Square. No thanks. I do already have theatre ticket for our trip.

Love Guinness, love the Harp too 🤠
Just FYI, "The Mall" is pronounced to rhyme with pal (or Pall Mall), not wall. A mall is a shopping centre in the USA.
Good to know! At least I got "Leicester" right 😀
15) visit harry& Meghan
Don’t they live in the US? 🫣
Best thing is not visit and spend money the United Kingdom of ☪️ancer and it’s two-tier Keir policing system
Not much to see in London.

Join Man City mate. Manchester is the best city in the UK.
That may not be a bad idea, actually. I absolutely love Manchester and they probably pay well 🧐
@@destinationwellknown Yes definitely.
