Living in Canada now, the problem is, given the overall atmosphere here, their families probably won't believe them. They'd literally prefer to think they are somehow forced to say that, than think that somehow, the news agencies can be so biased and arrogant, that they skew reality so much, that reality is no longer reality.
Many people actually know how China is today, the thing is that CNN BBC and all the other mainstream media are serving a common political agenda, and reporting truth about China will do the exact opposite of what they are trying to achieve

If your kids are looking for jobs as doctors in China. Hong Kong may be the best place to start to look at in terms of integration and pay. The pay for Drs in HK are high and taxes low. I think there is a shortage at the moment. Not sure about qualifications or language requirements though.
Just an idea, perhap you n daughter take up a specialist courses in one of China medical schools, from there an opportunity and trial period to give yourself a chance to disvover China.

As a three generation Shanghainese, my grandfather went to Shanghai Jiao-Tong University in 1912, then my father, sister, and brother were all born in Shanghai. I left for graduate school in the U.S. years ago and I was told by my parents that Shanghai did not change much from 1945-1995. However, when I went back to Shanghai in 2017 and again in 2019,Shanghai became more cosmopolitan than any big cities I have visited in the U.S. I can't find my grandpa's home without help from my relatives who still live there. However, Kaho would not be able to interview me since I still speak Mandarin (no more Shanghainese even though I can still understand 90%) and look like a Chinese from the countryside.

Great video thanks for sharing China to the world. However, Shanghai can't represent the whole China. Hope KAHO can travel to other places of China, like Chengdu. There are many delicious foods.

Not trying to be negative or anything, but the thing that stood out to me the most here is that these foreigners all seem to be living in their own little bubble How many of them can read or write Chinese? How many of them can speak Chinese without an accent? The point being made here is, they don't really live in China, they live in an expat bubble within China
Quite a lot of foreigners in China write and speak Chinese. China has many Chinese language schools with foreign students. As to an accent, the majority of Chinese speak Mandarin with different accents cos for many Mandarin is not their main language (dialect). Many foreigners for example speak Mandarin better than many Cantonese. As to being in a bubble I think everybody lives in part in a bubble, we all have our own social circles. The expats are probably like that the Chinese too. As a foreigner especially as one who looks differently it’s gonna be difficult for them to pretend to be local if that is your meaning of “living in China”.
