Omg 😂😂 I was already putting everything you were making into my summer making plans... Then you gave me a shoutout. Since you are making podcasts ONLY for me now, you officially go into my list as my #1 podcaster.
I loved hearing more about yourself - thanks for sharing 😊 also I think that plum color looks beautiful on you and looks great with the beige shorts too! Love your podcasts!
Thank you, Josie! ❤️ I ended up wearing that plum shirt a few more times since I finished it and I guess it’s growing on me, but still not my favorite summer garment 😅 I hope you’re doing very well, thank you for stopping by
“I’m not funny today or ever” that made me laugh 😂. You are awesome, I love your sense of humour and your knitting is pretty good also 🤣. Im in Australia and the Cumulus tee is next on my list. Currently knitting Petite Knits V neck Stockholm Slipover in Plotulopi and Mohair…unspun yarn I can’t get enough of it. Anyway love your podcast it always makes me laugh and honestly your knitting is beautiful. Enjoy your summer holiday. Xx
Thank you so much, Michelle! 😂❤️ I’m not much of a slipover wearer (I think) but I’ve been seeing some gorgeous finished ones recently and I’m kinda tempted… I’ll have to think about it!
Francesca you are such a blast to watch. I love your pizzaz! I find you irreverent, funny, and so practical. Coming from a STEM background our sense of humours are often laced with sharp quips, self-reflection and humility. It can be a little different than what people are used to. Please don't change a thing. 😊 The peacock tee looks fabulous. Blue suits you well. As does the plum in your cumulus tee. Cheers. Happy knitting.
Your comment made me smile a huge smile 🤗❤️ Thank you so much! I do quite like my Peacock Tee, if I do say so myself, and I’m about to start the Peacock Sweater, which I’ll hopefully like just as much. Hope your knitting and life in general is going well. Thank you for stopping by, Shreyashi 🙏
Hi Francesca! I knitted the Cumulus Tee and I did the sleeves a bit shorter. I didn’t do the i-cord borders but 5 rows of garter stiches. I love it! I like your podcasts, so alive!! Thanks a lot!
Hi Francesca! I love your podcasts for so many reasons… you are full of personality and your episodes are so fun, but also you wear and model your FO’s which I think is so helpful. I really can’t see how a knitted pattern will look if the finished item is just held up flat for me to see. I also like your honest assessment of yarns, patterns and the cost of the project! SO SO helpful! I always look forward to your next episode! Keep them coming! ❤️ 🙋🏼♀️
Oh, I’m so glad you’re enjoying my podcast, it means a lot to me ❤️ I quite like when others model their finished objects in their videos so I try to do the same as well. I’ve also tried to take good pictures and post them on my Instagram account, we’ll see if I’ll manage to keep that up 😂
I literally burst out laughing when you said goodbye to your enemies at the end 😂 I’m so excited to see your progress on your summer sweater! I’ve head my eye on that pattern for a while now
I feel like I’m not famous enough to have enemies, but one can hope… Maybe one day… 😂 The Ingrid Summer Sweater is going by so quickly! Looking forward to knit the collar and the sleeves to see how it’ll look.
Interesting podcast- my daughter lived and worked in San Francisco for 8 years; she is also a software engineer. Her life was fully “work” and at one point she decided she needed to slow down. She still works in the tech industry but in Germany where she has more life/work balance- you and your husband made a good decision. Love your podcasts- you are so magnetic
Thank you for your support, Alice. So far we do feel we did the right choice, but I’m interested to see what we’ll think in a few years. All the best to you and your daughter. I hope you get to see her/talk to her as much as possible ❤️
Another lovely podcast. Love all your knits I’m glad your Cumulus tee worked out. Love the colour goes well with your complexion. Take care til next time.
Subscribing to all your podcast recommendations using handy links. I wish I could get my hands on some of those labels in Italian. I’ll be in Italy next month, so excited and will hit up yarn stores for sure. And eat some of your great food.
Ciao Francesca, I want to say that I think the Plum Rose is a colour you should always wear. It looks amazing on you with the colour of your hair and complexion. However, to be clear, pinks and purples are my favourite! All of your knits are inspiring. I really like your Ingrid summer Sweater. It might be something to try for the end of summer. Enjoy your Ferra Agosto! I will be in Italy in September before going on a cruise. Hopefully, the weather stays nice! Rosie
Rosie, for some reason I had missed your message! Are you excited about Italy? I’ve never been on a cruise but sounds quite fun. Also sounds like you might have time to knit (I hope!). I haven’t finished my Ingrid Summer Sweater but hope to do that within a week or so so that I can wear it during the second half of September, when it’s still warm. So nice to see you, thanks for stopping by and safe travels ❤️
@@AnItalianKnitter Thank you! We've been on a few cruises. It's starts in Venice and ends in Barcelona with lots of stops in Italy in between. We leave Monday! yay
All your FO's look great Francesca! 😊I feel like all the colors suit you so well. Now I've added the Soho top to my knit list but definitely will be a next year project 😂I love the summer sweater too, but too many things to knit, not enough time 😆It was nice to get to know you a little better, hope you are enjoying the last days by the beach with your family! 🌞💕
Francesca, I just adore your podcast. You always make me actually laugh out loud. Thank you so much! Your peacock sweater is gorgeous btw!! And I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in your holiday home away from home.
Just stumbled across your podcast and was thoroughly entertained and had to subscribe. I’ll now have to binge watch your previous episodes. Love seeing your makes. I live in Ecuador and appreciate all the summer knits. The Ingrid sweater could also be something I could wear here . Looking forward to your next episode

Francesca your podcast is such a delight to knit along with! SOoo much inspiration and fun! Your garments are gorgeous. I am similar in that I am all about blue, greys, light green and earthy tones and would never gravitate toward the maroon or redish tones ever, but that Cumulus Tee looks AMAZING on you. Really enjoyed the little "personal bio" information and I too have a pizza shaped hole in my heart even thought I am born and raised Canadian (perhaps Italian in a past life). Happy knitting and look forward to your next episode.
Thank you so much for your support! Your peacock top is lovely! Maybe if you don't want the slight ballon effect on your second Cumulus tee you could use a slightly bigger needle for the icord?
Yes! I’ll have to experiment and that’s a great suggestion. The I-cord bind-off has some decreased so another option I’m thinking about is to not do any decreases while binding off.
I just bought a sweater's quantity of Line today for the first time. Seeing your knits and video made my day. Thanks for sharing your works with us. ♥️

Omg Im studying to become a Frontendeveloper. 😅 I noticed some other knitters work or studied something related with software development, haha funny ...my name is Nathalia, I also have Italian background... although I am a proud Latina living in Germany. I have been binge watching your podcast and I really enjoy it ❤
Hi Nathalia, so nice to have you here! ❤️ Thank you for your support. I hope you’re enjoying the software development path so far. It’s tough at times but I would not change this job with any other!
Why am I finding out about this podcast only now?!?! Good think I have 11 more episodes to binge watch 😉 I actually think that the Peacock Sweater in a orange/terra di siena kind of colour would be perfect for you because warm colours should suit perfectly a olive complexion-dark hair combo like you (and me) 😊 I may actually take some inspiration too😆
Thank you for your color “endorsement”! I never know what actually looks good on me (I think I mentioned it a few times in my previous episodes actually, you’ll see 😂) and I just kinda go with the flow and pick somehow random/arbitrary colors 😬 It has worked out fine so far I think, other than that lilac/rose/plum 😂
Been looking at the peacock tee for so long and really wanting to make it but haven't been inspired for the color choice yet and then you talked about making an orange peacock sweater and was like "OH MY GOD THAT'S IT I NEED TO MAKE AN ORANGE PEACOCK TEE" (orange is my favourite color) 😍😍😍 Thanks for the inspiration! 😍
Im finally catching up on podcasts after travelling and it was such a lovely surprise to hear my name! Love seeing you in the beach home! It sounds so dreamy. I hope you are having an amazing time! 💕Also added the Peacock Tee to my faves! You make it look amazing!
Hello! ❤️ I was thinking about you today while trying to pick my yarn for the Poetry Sweater by Sari Nordlund. Let’s see if I’m able to knit that one or if I’ll ditch it for some stockinette in the round 😂
Another fabulous podcast Francesca. You made my month by featuring my Peacock Tee. I didn't know there was a Peacock Sweater! I think I will have to take a look at that pattern.
Hi Mary, yours looks so good! I think (hope) I shared it on my Instagram stories too. I absolutely love the color and it suits you so well. The Peacock Sweater does not have short row shaping (I think) so I’d like to add it in myself 😅 We’ll see if I manage to do so. I might have to look up some tutorials/tips on RUclips though, just as a confidence boost 😬
Dear Francesca, the peacock sweater would be nice in orange. Looking forward to see this. 😉 The knitted shorts would be great. Summer greetings from the very hot and dry part of Germany. Gabi
I’m so, very excited about my future orange Peacock Sweater 🍊 ❤️ Sorry about the crappy weather we’re all experiencing. Here it improved (as in: cooled down a little bit) over the past few days and I’m so very grateful. I hope the same for you soon! Bye, Gabi
Continue wearing your plum shirt. The color looks great on you!🥰 Thank you again for this great episode. I love watching your podcast and continue to be inspired 😘
I‘m a bit scared of the ingrid sweater/ top because the eyelets seemed so big (used sandnes line for the gauge swatch as well). Please excuse me if my question is to personal: What underwear should I pick under the ingrid top? I still like the finished ingrid garments of other people 😅
I love your podcast. I just finished the Anker top by petiteknit with the Sandnes Garn Line yarn. I also like this yarn very much knits up quickly! I haven’t blocked it yet and I’m hoping I can stretch the top a bit with blocking.
Oh I love the peacock tea FO ! I'm keen to hear how you felt the Sandnes Garn on the hands for the line summer type. I always worry it will be hard on the hands 🙈 Also seriously loving the Ingrid Sweater!!
I’ve been using Sandnes Garn Line throughout the summer and I quite enjoy the feeling. Nothing compared to wool and mohair and alpaca (and most of the natural fibers that I usually knit with) in terms of softness, but for being a plant-based yarn it’s pretty enjoyable on the hands. It seems like the Drops Belle (which has the same composition) is slightly tougher on my hands, but I will report back! I’m excited to see what summer knits you’ll choose to knit. I’ll be watching you 👀 🎶
Ciao Francesca! That is the max, to work "from home" at the beach 👏🏻 your peacock tea is beautiful, I love your color choice. You keep me wanting to try both the knitting for olive and the sandnes yarns, but I am on yarn overload so not sure when that is going to happen. As for budgets, I guess we each have to contend with what we can afford of course, but having said that, for me 30 euros for a handmade garment, in a good quality yarn, that hopefully will stay beautiful for years, is really worth it. If we thing at the hours, energy, dedication we put into our knitting, I really thing we deserve the best quality yarn we can afford. I did notice however that when I splurged on some hand dyed special more pricey yarn (more expensive than these) I freeze and cannot make myself use them YET, because I am afraid I will mess up + waiting for the "perfect" project. Also love your cumulus tee, it is such a great pattern, and I love the color too. I only use wooden needles for slippery yarn, I am totally fine with my metal ones, which are my absolute favorite and I constantly switch between two of them (I always have many projects on the go). 😂😂 you actually are very funny always! p.s. I was almost forgetting, it's really nice to say more about you and your life if and when and what you feel like sharing...and regarding the food...you know that the ingredients are NOT the same right?? 🤗😊 it does change the taste and the nutritional quality of foods....💚talk to you later take care enjoy your beachy vibes 💚🧶
Hello friend ❤️ Apparently I don’t listen to you when you talk about nutritional value and ingredients lol 😂 Joking, I do, but I guess I wasn’t paying attention to what I was saying. I actually don’t have hand dyed yarn… Maybe I’ll buy some at some point, but I feel like it would have to be for a t-shirt or camisole or something that would take me just a few balls to knit (probably not a garment, as they would probably cost a hundred euros or so?). As for budget, I feel like mine is slowly increasing over time, in the sense that I’m now a bit spoiled and gravitate towards more expensive ones compared to a few years ago/few months ago. I guess tastes evolve 😬 So great to see you here ❤️
@@AnItalianKnitter I think it's normal that moving forward, if/when we can, we want to use what gives us more pleasure to knit. Who knows where the journey will take us, I just seem to have entered, a few days ago, a new level of joy with knitting, after a couple of weeks I took a break, and as usual I wish I had a thousand hands and hours to knit! 🧶🧶🧶
Just discovered your podcast and I am so glad I did! Such a fun and inspirational episode😃 Beautiful knits🥰 I have to check out the hemingway shorts. I have some drops belle in my stash🤔😉
Thank you! ❤️ I think the size I’m about to cast on uses 5 balls of Drops Belle. You could also use the Belle for a Peacock Tee (leKnit) or an Ingrid Top (Gregoria Fibers) but I think shorts sound quite fun! 😬
Lovely makes, I have both metal and wooden (ginger) needles, seems to depend on the yarn which I prefer:) if too slippery then I still find I like wooden but everything else usually metal

You are wrong...you ARE funny! I really enjoyed watching your podcast, as usual. Enjoy your holiday!
Thank you, Lisa! Always lovely to see you here and I hope you have some vacation time too to relax and knit
Lina, I think these days we’re just endorsing (and enabling) each other 😂 I want to make everything you show, in the same exact colors 😂❤️
@@AnItalianKnitter Likewise! Will blame all my future yarn buying on you 😂😍
Im finally catching up on podcasts after travelling and it was such a lovely surprise to hear my name!
The knitted shorts would be great.
Bye, Gabi
I think the plum is pretty on you
Continue wearing your plum shirt. The color looks great on you!🥰 Thank you again for this great episode. I love watching your podcast and continue to be inspired 😘
Ooh, thank YOU!
I‘m a bit scared of the ingrid sweater/ top because the eyelets seemed so big (used sandnes line for the gauge swatch as well). Please excuse me if my question is to personal: What underwear should I pick under the ingrid top? I still like the finished ingrid garments of other people 😅
Lovely episode as always. And that plum color actually does look beautiful on you ❤
Oh, thank you! I’ll try to get use to it 😬
I love your podcast. I just finished the Anker top by petiteknit with the Sandnes Garn Line yarn. I also like this yarn very much knits up quickly! I haven’t blocked it yet and I’m hoping I can stretch the top a bit with blocking.
Blocking does magic! 🪄
I’ll be watching you 👀 🎶
@@AnItalianKnitter ok so you've convinced me and I have ordered some Sandnes Garn Line.... It's intended for the Sunday Tee...
Absolutely beautiful knitting projects 🧶🧶💗
Thank you so much!
I guess tastes evolve 😬
So great to see you here ❤️
@@AnItalianKnitter I think it's normal that moving forward, if/when we can, we want to use what gives us more pleasure to knit.
That makes a lot of sense! I might try again with wooden if I come across a super slippery yarn.
Ciao Francesca, bellissimo podcast. hai menzionato il pattern Drinks on the patio crop..... tienilo in seria considerazione.
💐
I'm thinking I need to start roller skating now just so I don't think about taxes. 😂 I own a small business so I think I spend about 6 months out of the year thinking about them.
Yes, my friend! Even though you’ll still need to pay them 😂
I started to watch this episode and all of a sudden I thought ‘Is this me or Francesca?’ I mean, if I’m not knitting, I’m reading, I’ve always dreamed of having a bookshop or a wool shop, I roller blade and my current whip is a cumulus tea knitted up in plum rose knitting for olive pure silk! Oh and I’m Italian! Scary or what? 😂
Simona, my long-lost twin! Glad we’re on the same page. I feel seen and understood ❤️ Hope you’re having a lovely August so far.
@@AnItalianKnitter 😂😂😂
Could you do a Podcast in italian??? I would love that🧶
Hey Verena, I started knitting while I was living in the US and I’ve always thought and talked about knitting in English. I’m missing a lot of the Italian terms unfortunately, so I would have to do lots of research, but never say never 😅
😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊
Please help. I got the peacock tee pattern and there is no key for the chart. What do the symbols mean?
I just saw this! Not sure if you’re still blocked on this, but in my version of the pattern the symbols are on the page just before the page with the charts. Good luck!
@@AnItalianKnitter i ended up getting it from someone. Mine doesnt have the key in the pattern. Some kind of glitch. Everything is okay now. Thank you.
You’re adorable. That’s all I have to say 😊
👏👌👍😚🤗😊☺🙂
In che città vivi?
Ciao Fabrizia, vivo a Ferrara.
Just some constructive criticism: Please look at the camera
I’m sorry, you’re right. However, current Francesca is doing a much better job in her more recent episodes, I promise 😅
