Ralph Macchio's character did not sell his soul, Willie Brown wouldn't let him. They guitar battle at the end was for Willies soul being released from his contract with the devil.
Both Jack Butler and Willie Brown had sold their souls; it's true that Eugene (Ralph) did not. But the deal was: if Eugene won against Jack Butler, Willie's soul was saved; if Eugene lost, then Eugene forfeited his soul as well.
In 1988 I was a 20 year old working construction in Phoenix. One morning I went into a 7-Eleven and saw the video Crossroads I had never heard of it, took it home and it's my favorite movie to this day... a few years later I was taking lessons at bizarre guitar
Highly enjoyable! Thank you... I didn't realize this was such a limited run. In 1980s, I saw very few movies more than once: Crossroads was one of the few. Absolute classic for guitarists of that era. "Eugene's Trick Bag" is like Eruption in that "everybody tried to learn it, and can play _parts_ of it".
....not long ago I thought: „what was that movie called again with KarateKid having this guitar solo contest?“ As a kid I loved that movie, more than KarateKid, maybe only because I was just starting learning guitar. I havent seen that movie for ages....and now you come along with this awesome new video! Cheers guys!
thanks! yes I had forgotten about it. Used to like it when I was a kid because I too had just begun to play guitar. So doing this video was a trip down memory lane. Cheers
@@isaiahgonzales6193 yeah maybe...but jack buttler kicked ass with the guitar. I'm sure he could just spend a couple of months mastering the slide guitar. I wish I'd been like jack buttler in my 20s. Still trying to be it in my own way
I wonder if Vai actually recorded all that crossroads duel with that jackson or used it at the video recording because of its look but played another guitar...Any hints?
Supposedly used the Green Meanie to record the parts. There were 3 of these Jackson used for the film because he kept breaking them with the whammy bar histrionics which would explain why he didn't use his own guitars for the film
Im abit older than you guys so i was not interested in that movie at all even tho im into the music( long live Robert Johnson).. Great looking guitar man and you are a good player....nice job.

the orginal jack butler guitar is in the hard rock casino in biloxi , miss I look at it every time I go in there

Nice!!! I bet this guitar was a nice stroll down memory lane.
@@BizarreGuitar absolutely!! It may sound bizarre but you're my new norms
Very cool, thanks!! 🤘😎

Totally agree, it’s a classic every budding guitarist watched over and over
Wow. That’s a tone monster. I was never fond of the off the shelf Jacksons, but that one sounds pretty sweet.
I hope the new owner enjoys it.
Yes, it plays nice too. I actually liked the neck, I'm not one for the "super strat" but this one was quite nice.
Such an underrated movie
Agreed!!

Fricken love that guitar!
We were pretty impressed with it.
When I first started playing guitar I wanted to be Jack Butler. Now that I'm older I want to be Eugene.
This.
Eugene from the band Jinjer

Love that. Great comment
That is some 80's style goodness.
Haha, yes. All I need now is bigger hair
That movie actually has my favorite Vai playing. So outrageously pompous that it’s almost funny. I have to buy one of these
They are pretty cool, they might be hard to find now.
I wish this was available left handed. Always loved the sparkle finish on this guitar
Yes it’s a looker.
The is the only Jackson with rear mount floyd rose nut, hence superior tuning stability.
I have one and they are amazing, if you can find one . buy it
Totally love the tone
It sounds great and plays great too.
It's nice that they're doing a tribute but the guitar playing had a lot of processing to get that sound in the movie
That’s the 80’s for ya. 😂
EPICO
Cheers!
Those guitars were a dime a dozen back in the day they were total production guitars. I were surprise Steve Vai played that guitar in the movie?

Is there any confirmation of the 250 run? I have one, but there is absolutely no info as to how many were made.
I believe that is what our Jackson rep told us.
For anyone who doesn't know, Jaime Getz is now a BILLIONAIRE.
And she was on Seinfeld. 😀👍
The head was blacked out in the movie. Im surprised that they chose White Jackson lettering on the head.
Ralph Macchio's character never sold his sold to the devil in the movie. His traveling companion did.
Oh yeah, that’s right..it’s been a while. 😅
I'll root for Cobra Kai and Jackson anytime!
How much this cost bro, can I order
The one Steve Vai played had no name on the headstock?
Yes.
Did it already sell? It’s not on your reverb page
Yes it sold.
What pedal is that?
Valeton Dapper Dark multi-effect pedal 👍
There’s only going to be 250 of the Mexican made JS models ?
That’s what I heard
Does anyone have one to sell? I'd like to buy. any recommendations?
Ours has been sold, it was a limited run, so they might be getting hard to find.
They are amazing guitars but super limited run .....if you find one , buy it
My luthier buddy is about to build me an exact copy logo n all for $600! Screw paying 2-3 grand!
Want to sell it ?
Im abit older than you guys so i was not interested in that movie at all even tho im into the music( long live Robert Johnson).. Great looking guitar man and you are a good player....nice job.
Thanks Joe. Appreciate that, cheers!
I want to play anthrax on that rad axe
too poor for this, might have to settle for a red JS11 Dinky :(
Those are still solid guitars 👍
Reminds me of the movie crossroads. It’s definitely a guitar you could blues with, metal with more importantly be proud to own and happy to play.
It’s a solid guitar, we sold it right away,.
You make no sense at all
Definitely the most satanic instrument ever featured on screen.=]
Yes, that guitar is el Diablo 🤘
Btw...i hear in your playing a Peter Green Sound...he founded The Real Fleetwood Mac..not that Nicks crap...my rants done.
Oh we love Peter Green, awesome player
I wish it had a rose wood fret board.. satan would have used rose wood.trust me I know
😂 yes maple is for the angels
If you was for Johnny your a bully lmfao
😂
Go watch “Cobra Kai”
@@Samester48 was kidding loving cobra kai
