I enjoy seeing how other people build or spec their campers, vans, etc. It’s very interesting to see how folks from around the world accomplish similar goals in getting outside and into nature and escaping normal society.
Yeah !!! Pls more of these esp. off road capable tourers. I am gathering ideas for a future build so not extreme off roading and not something that costs a fortune. International shipping and spare parts/repairs also a concern.
I loved this! Please make more content like this. It’s so cool to see what others are doing in Taiwan. Try to link to there social media if they have some.
Enjoyed the video. It’s neat exploring other folks’ setups and making a connection with them simply through compare/contrast of gear and objectives. Neat stuff Leigh!
It's nice to have views from different culture, thank you for the kind video! You are very welcome if you are interested in having a tour at our company.😉
This video was very cool to see Lee. As a travel trailer owner in the states it is really cool to see the set up people use in other countries! Thanks for taking us along on the journey...be safe!
cool set up, although in the cities it would be very difficult to park/ this family may be able to park their rig at their factory or home in the countryside. (Parking is so crazy in Taipei one of the best businesses is just a robot parking garage building on a small footprint lot) During my youth six years were spent in Elkhart Indiana, one of the three centers for RV mass production in the USA, the overland community is special / and all the off road community volunteered during the blizzard of 1978 where three feet of blowing drifting snow hit over three days.
I have seen some pretty awesome rigs here in Baja Mexico, often with European plates. I met an older couple from Switzerland who had shipped their camper to Brazil, circumnavigate South America and then drove up through Central America to Mexico. There is no road through the isthmus south of Panama so you have to ship from Colombia by sea. He commented that this cost them more than shipping from Europe to Brazil.
We have the option for kia truck here in Colombia, you can put up to 3 " lift on them and put bigger tyres, engine is slow but very durable and can go turbo charge. They are very capable rigs. If I change my rig, that one of the option and put a camper in the rear like yours.
He said "should have" but it is common for "have" to be pronounced casually as "av" without an emphasis on the "h". Between the casual way it is being said and with help from the way in which any particular person says it (various accents) it is easy to mistake what they are saying as "should of". You don't seem to know much about the nuances of the English language, considering you're likely an English teacher...
Interesting to see how Taiwan seems to retain it's own "culture" in regard to van design rather than attempting to appeal to a global market. I wonder how much a van like that costs? It would probably have a global appeal if it was loaded up with tech' and gadgets (with a price-tag to suit) whereas in Taiwan it's probably much, much cheaper as a result of the people being happy with more modest levels of equipment - which would also make it an ideal base for the DIYers among us.
looks pretty narrow, for south east asia probably mandatory. Last summer I ve been in south france with an US truck, 2.10 meter wide an a turning circle like the moon. that clan be challenging, where you dont want it.
