Finally, a yacht video where underwater shape of the hull is prominently featured. First thing a smart owner (and Captain) reviews is underwater profile, not who the interior designer is. For a vessel 171 feet long, her draft of 14.5 feet is not particularly deep, but that long keel run looks to make her very, very stable. A true ocean crossing vessel. If only the Bayesian had had her stability characteristics front and center in her designer's mind, as is readily apparent with this vessel.
BK has a sister ship, identical hull, but carbon rigging. Both vessels clocked 15 knt and outrunning even the Maltese Falcon. ruclips.net/video/2DdVqOThwBU/видео.html
You’ve got to praise owners who share such masterpieces with others, praising the designers, builders and looking after their crew like they were guests too. Tom Cunliffe made it into a poem and Tom Nitsch into a spectacle. Great Portrait
Ingineurskunst, Design in höchster Vollendung - durchdacht bis ins letzte Detail - einfach großartig, auch für mich einfachen Mann neidlos zu bewundern. Danke für das Video...
This Schooner is my wet dream ship. Literally everything in a yacht that I have thought about for myself if I could afford to build one, upto and including individual berths for the crew. Fantastic boat!!!
Sailing ships are mysterious and magical to all men. We have read the many books and authors of sea faring adventurers. It's a dream to so many of us. Borkumriff 4 brings it to life, with majesty . Thanks again!
Speechless. What a stunning presentation on a such a subject of maritime perfection. Congratulations to the owner and thank you for allowing the sharing of this most beautiful lady of the sea.
It is the second time I come into thisi video... I have noticed one thing apart feom the mighty of this ship: full throttle, full sail, under up to 45 knots of wind? Is that for real? Maybe at certain quite open wind angle downwind.
Perhaps this is what life is or should be about. So what’s stopping us? In one word, resources. In three words, allocation of resources. What does that come down to? Luck? Accident of birth? Chance? Ambition? Drive? Choose your own reason.
Conrad preferred 'passion' over 'love' for the sea. Sheesh, sometimes a man's passion for sailing exceeds his love for, dare I say it, a beautiful woman. And Borkumriff IV would just about do that for him.

Sure looks nice sailing in warm, tropical conditions, but there's no cover for the crew in bad weather / cold weather, or even just from the sun. Before that boat does a circumnavigation or an ocean passage, I assume some shelter / shade would be added?

Kudos to the team that produced this fine visual report. As excellent as the vessel herself.

Breathtaking! Only the most beautiful clippers can compete with her in beauty.

An absolute feast for the senses. What a beautiful ship and storytelling to be shared here. Thank you for the wonderful film!
You're welcome
There isn't a boat I've liked more than this one. They really created a masterpiece
Got to be one of the prettiest schooners ever made...
Yes it is a classy lady. We sailed it against the Maltese Falcon and out dragging at 16 knts speed over water
Great movie, great boat, thank for those nice images
Cheers
Thanks for the compliment

You're welcome, and channel followers get the chance during maritime shows to visit the lady
@@PaulusPHM Thank you Marinus. Borkumriff IV is a very lovely vessel. I wouldn't mind sailing her.
Whenever you in the neighborhood
This was so well written and well read and presented. Was so mesmerising. Such a dream vessel.
Thanks hope to see 👀
How it’s possible that this beauty can still float with all those comfort features above and below deck, amazing.
I sometimes wonder 🤔 too
What an awesome vessel … it looks so … Beautyful
Must be one of the most beautiful boats in the world! :-) :-) :-)
Yes she is thx
Absolutely stunning! Goosebumps -
Thanks your welcome
Beauty, elegance, performance and class. A floating dream come true. A God like creature on the seas.
Yes she is
¡Bellísimo y maravilloso!
Beautiful. Cant imagine the maintenance on all that wood
Where money is well spent and character is present.
Rightfully so
That is such a beautiful boat.
Thanks
Fantastic ship. I would like to see the performance in the roaring fourties.
Been there , video will be coming holding good at gale 10
Totally stunning! Like a dream. A futuristic dream including a good portion of slender boat design history.
Thanks
Drop dead gorgeous boat.
Yes she is a lady
Such a beauty. Thank you
Welcome
Alone, the flag ritual says everything … the ship is Breathtaking ❤
She's absolutely stunning
Reminds me of the place I was born: Borkum. The reef has become part of a miles wide beach though.
If you listen to the soundtrack, the Borkumriff is being played
A pure perfection...
What a beauty!!
A lovely mermaid...she''s beautiful!
The lady of the ocean
One of the most beautiful yachts I've ever seen. But no sailing yacht will ever top the J-class in my opinion.
Sorry to disappoint you on the J class but in drag race we outrun them with 1.5knts.
This is very beautiful and romanthic
And fast
Just saw her at Monaco Yacht Show, she's listed, never been chartered. What's the background music song in this video?
background song is called appropriately Borkumriff
The Quartermaster *
Thanks for the information! Do you have any idea where Borkumriff is now?
Just back in the waters in Palma de Mallorca

yes for real, cruising at high sea 🌊 👌
Lovely presentation
You're welcome
does anyone know what the name of the piano song that starts around 9:35?
Awesome boat, i would like to work on a boat like this!
Eric Alfred Leslie Satie
Found it?

One never knows
If I should ever hit the Euro-Jackpot Borkumriff 4 will be mine.
Yep. A dream vessel
You’d need to win a few of them I’m afraid 😂
Or just work for it

Nice interpretation, but the narrative was implying something different
Have to agree.
Welcome
Perfection.
outstanding
Beautiful film and ship. Very poetic in style. What are some of the specs of the ship? I get the impression it is 100 feet long.

when Dreams turn into Art ! must see - on sea 1
Rightfully so
It is beautiful . Nostalgic. However I still prefer Canova 142 from Baltic Yachts .
It's all about taste 😋

All is there for protection. Have been to the artics with her. She circumnavigated 3 times and did the North West passage
@@PaulusPHM Well ok then! I'm always thinking about the crew.
The vessel can be fully controlled out of the pilot house during faul weather conditions.
By the way what vessel your sailing?
An important consideration noted by those who have sailed on long cruises!
Fantastic dancing princesses 1:34
Dude took wraps on the winch the wrong way…..
Some footage was inverted, hence wrong way
I should hope she's up for charter, not that I could afford to in my current state.
Why the singles in the master?
Not suitable for charter.
Don't get 'singles in the Master '
@@PaulusPHM single berths
The vessel is build for sailing not for breakfast on bed.
@@PaulusPHM two singles in the master denotes joint ownership by two separate individuals.
Or the owner hates his wife, it happens

Well produced, but way over the top with the bloody pathos
Maybe a shaken not stirred might do
Stunning boat, irritating narration.......
Narrative was fine with me.
13:00 12 knots? Geez, catamarans I've raced on drift backwards that fast when stuck in irons. Yawn. Sounds like a 5 knot shit box to me.
Regret, it's highest speed was 18.5knt at Atlantic crossing Boston to Isle of Wight.
I'd rather have a J Class
We outrun a J Class
Interesting video of an interesting ship, but difficult to hear the narrator with that soundtrack.
