Land Rover Discovery Sport: The class of the field

- The original Land Rover Discovery Sport was a big hit, but growing competition in the 7-seat family crossover segment has prompted Land Rover to update the much-loved Disco. Of course, competition from the likes of Volkswagen, Peugeot, SEAT and Hyundai is unlikely to lure away the Land Rover faithful due to the strength of the brand, but to say the Discovery Sport is popular just because of the badge would be doing it a disservice.
That's not to say it didn't need improving. In terms of fuel economy and emissions, it lagged behind its competitors and whilst this new version can't quite match the most efficient performers, it now puts up a decent fight. On the looks side, it benefits from a raft of improvements including a facelift that brings new signature LEDs at the front and rear, updated grille and bumpers, better cabin, extra technology and some welcome safety enhancements.
If you've never considered the Discovery Sport, then this new model might appeal to you, and if you've wanted one before, then you'll want one even more now.

Brilliantly clear, detailed and watchable. Thank you for posting this exhaustive review. One thing worth mentioning however- servicing plans are every two years or 21000 miles and not every one year or 16000 miles as stated at 1:16:30

MY VIEW : V Bad terrible, and total waste of money. They claim quality but some water went while driving in rain , it resulted in total loss. Always need lot of repairs , poor quality .

BMW'S and the like highly over rated , BMW AUDI do make some dog engines and Hyundai do for that matter . Tiny South Korean crap .

I had one of these, a 66 plate. Great until the panoramic roof started leaking. Just out of warrenty, dealer couldn't find a problem. I found a product recall on the panoramic roof online , which specified a problem with the roof panel just forward of the glass fitting.
Dealer just robbed me off. Terrible customer service. Overpriced crap.
Great extensive review. I just bought my first LR Discovery. So far, indeed, it's a bit of a thirsty nature, but the interior materials are superb, and the feeling of luxury is overwhelming.
Hi I have a 2016 sport and I wonder why anyone would put the sat nav SIM card inside a glove box where all manner of things get put which has damaged mine . Surely this could be put into the dash just like a phone .
Just stop trying to be hi-tech and make it reliable. Because they aren’t good at that, leave the hi-tech to Tesla be a reliable stylistic statement.
Agree, all prestige new cars have way too much technology 90% of which is not needed even Tesla's have problems with tech.

Elijah Djuniar Talking about problems. I just rejected my brand new Disco Sport 2020 models. Car broken down twice in 6 days after collection. Collected the car last Thursday and it broke down on the same day with a battery modular problem. The dealer had it for 3 days and return the car back to me for 1 day before it broke again. This time the car jerks/jump so heavily that i felt is going to break down at any minute. Is is returning to the dealer for replacement.

You will notice on super common theme. British reviews off the Discover Sport are basically extremely good, amazing, great, fanastic. Meanwhile all major car reviews are giving it 6/10, 7/10, 3.5/5 ... basically medicore. Do yourself a favor buy the Audio Q5 or BMW X1/X3 X Drive.
No aconsejo este coche. La marca es premium pero solo en el precio no en la calidad.Tengo un discovery Sport del 2021 y ya me lo entregaron con un defecto de fabricación en el sistema de sonido. Todavía lo tengo pendiente de reparar ya que debido al brexit es complicado la importación de piezas de recambio. Mientras tanto la marca no da solución, solo esperar. Escoged otra marca
No thanks. Much prefer Land Rovers. Had my current 2005 one for 10 years reliability 100% all major components still original, tyres changed at 70k miles still had tread on them, only brakes and battery changed. Never failed MOT
