I really badly wish more channels had this a “cinematic” build and a actual video how the inspiration, build and other stuff. Thank you!!
Totally agree, especially those that just show what they are doing, but, no explanations or detail, just that awful background music, but this video is a breath of fresh air.
We kept finding we needed a folding table. This is so easy to store. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxStL0QRChBju4aQlnTrRgBZvafFog0KU3 Opening and closing is easy as well. It has a great handle for carrying around the house. Its pretty lightweight and slides around easy. We bought it for our daughter’s first sleepover. Breakfast was a blur - but 12 7-8 year olds fit at the table with room to spare. We used it at thanksgiving and 6 adults fit comfortably on each side plus 2 on either end for a total of 8. Super easy to clean up afterwards as well.
Probably watched a dozen or more videos about building a work bench but this was the one I was looking for exactly. I have a small shed doubling as a shop so I need every inch of space. Thank you for this.
Good to see you again!
I built this and i love it. Thanks for the ideas. One thing i did change though was moving the center stretcher up to the middle of the legs. In its original spot down near the bottom of the legs near the wheels, I could not safely reach the locks on the wall and hold onto the table safely in order to lower it down. Moving it up the legs a little allowed me to stand closer to the table/wall and control it better.
I built this workbench in which you inspired I thank you for that. I really appreciate the thought you put into it. I did take your advice and places hinges differently. I built it with threaded inserts in the middle lower support to keeping nice and tight. I also glued another ³/⁴ piece to do t-track it came out awesome. The pit falls is its a little heavier than I would like. But super functional. I've thought about also adding a face vice and tail vice and bench dogs. I loved building this your plans and video were super helpful.
Thank you for making this video and for giving the builds that inspired you credit. I too was inspired by the same folding wall mounted table which you found, and have been appalled by more recent videos of people copying the idea and touting it as if they came up with it all by themselves. 2 thumbs up. I also like your personal tweaks to the design.
Thank you for sharing this Project. (From Brazil - Sao Paulo) 💛💚
I was waiting for a certain design to build my workbench and your foldable mobile design was perfect for me. I built it and copied your design with some modifications that made sense for me. I used double 2x4s for legs and 2x4s for cross bases instead of plywood. I added 3/4” MDF on top of plywood with urethane finish, this made it heavier and more solid for dog holes. Top is flush on one side and one end and has 2” overhang on other side and end. Put the wheels and hinges on one end only and attached hinge to side of leg as you suggested instead of under it. Added a long vice on the flush end. The legs can still fold with vice. The table is obviously more heavier than yours but still foldable and mobile. Thanks for the inspiration and your great video.
I like that you posted 2 videos of this build, I'd like to see more people doing that. I'll have to check out some of your other videos.
Well, I've been hunting around for the best foldable wall mounted table, and I think this is the one! I'm a gonna build this thing. Thanks for sharing this!
Hey, so I built it, and it turned out pretty well considering my skill level (which is almost NO SKILL). I was glad to take your advice on attaching the wheels differently to avoid having to shave off part of the bottom of the legs. It works just fine.
The only thing I am nervous about is mounting it to the wall. This table is incredibly heavy to be just sitting on a 2x4 bolted to 3 wall studs. Well, the guy said it will hold so... You just have to be very careful when putting it up or taking it down, as this thing could do serious damage if it falls on you!
Overall, very pleased!
I had to subscribe. Thank you for the behind the scenes explanation and reasons why. Very well done. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words and appreciation Fred!
The stretcher concept is nice
Amazing! Love it.
Interesting, finally, somebody that has taken the time to provide detailed information. I have a possible addition to the design. I live in an apartment which is accessed via a lift but, my garage and small workshop are in the basement. So in order to use the bench in the apartment or on the terraces, I would have to wheel it in the closed position. so, replicating the castor mounting system on one side mount a hinged flip out for a pair of castors
congratulations for your beautiful work
this table will be my next project for my channel
Thanks very much Eddy! Looking forward to seeing it. 😍
Excellent video. Good job on the building the table.
Hey, there. I just purchased both the Imperial and Metric versions of your designs. Here we are at the beginning of 2023, and I priced out all the materials recommended. We all know about 2022 inflation by now, and as of 29 January 2023, the cost for the shopping list, at the suggested sites, is $299.73!!! I am going to build it anyway. Thank you so much for helping me find the right solution for my garage workshop. Cheers, mate!
Thank you Eilen! Hope you have a great time building it. 🤗
EXCELLENT FOLLOW-UP to your original timelapse video. Although the timelapse video was very good, it was way too fast for a newbie like myself to understand the how's and why's of each phase of the project. I wish all creators took the time to do a follow-up or even add a voice-over to explain the "how's and why's of their thought process. I know that's asking a lot for a Free RUclips video but it would be nice. I see that you are into papercraft. Thank you for stepping over into the woodworking world and adding a couple of really great videos to my "Newbie Woodworker" To-Do List of Projects. I'll be purchasing the plans from your site. Take care and stay safe.
Thank you Ray. Appreciate you stopping by and adding the kind feedback. 😊 Have a great day!
Excellent!!
Beautiful
What a great video and awesome "foldable." Thank you! Will make the same....
Thank you Bjorn!
Just bought the plans! And look forward to making my workspace for my guns!
Brilliant! You do excellent work. The only thing I might add are some adjustable feet to compensate for uneven surfaces.
Thanks so much for your helpful videos. I am space-challenged in my garage, due to my wife’s ever-expanding horticultural endeavors, and your design keeps the bench out of the way when not needed, and permits setup almost anywhere (driveway, yard). Got the plans and supplies, and will give it a try next weekend. Cheers.
Thank you Tim! Hope it goes well for you.
Parabéns pelo trabalho, a bancada ficou ótima!!!!
Thank you for watching!
Brilliant.
I love this and is very well made! Good job! Only thing that might be hazardous is the bottom of the folding table resting on the 2x4 on the wall. The top has a safety lock, but the bottom of the table does not? If pulled out accidentally by someone, hopefully not a child... This could potentially & accidentally fall & injure someone without a safety lock! Just a thought... Very nice table thought, hats off to you!😎👍
Had the same thought and am going to try building a similar table, but with 45 degree beveled edge on the wall side of the table and a French cleat instead of the plain 2x4.
great idea
THX good project!
Geez...this is great stuff.
Great build,,, I like the way you went into detail however the things I would change is I would double up the plywood top to make it more rigid, and I would edge band the plywood all the way around the plywood, granted it would add to the cost but I think the aesthetics would be worth it, other than that everything was fantastic great job keep them coming
Increíble trabajo.
After long time!!
SUPER KREATIF Sukses GBU
nice good 👌👌
Very cool! Well thought out. OCD
Good 👍👍
I purchased the plans and I’m excited to build a unit. I can take a picture and post it on here.
I dont have a single table in my garrage, also barely enough room for 2 cars. this will help so much thank you
Excelent idea, I just built it. It is heavy though. Would you recomend MDF or anything ligther for the top of the table instead of the birch playwood?
I tried the hinges the way you said you could've. I found its weaker because the holes of the hinge do not center on the thin edge of the 2x4. The wait of the table puts stress on the edge and mine broke. I'm going to do it your original way as I feel it's much stronger
💪💪💪
Your smart. GV...........very smart.
This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!
I think I've watched it 20 times
👍
Nice work! What is the overhang of the table on all four sides?
Will this design allow for the casters to flip inward under the table thus eliminating a potential trip hazard when supported by the legs? You thoughts please.
Visual, when pocket holing from from a 2 x 4 to a 3/4 plywood. What size should the pocket hole jig size to?
Thank you for sharing the video. Do you have any video or plans for the workbench you were using by the wall?
I think the bottom wall support might need a lip on the outside to keep the table from falling out if pulled on with too much force. Maybe take one of the two latches and put it on the bottom then recenter the top one.
Hey Rob, that's a great idea. I might just do that. Thanks!
I thought about that lip but then realized that eventually could be bad for the top. Additionally, the whole weight of the table would have to be literally lifted every time while folding or unfolding it 🤔
, I thought the same thing, especially with little rugrats running around. If a toddler bumped into it like it is it could slip off the narrow shelf.
Great folding table design. Just one concern about the wall mount. How is the bottom support holding the table against the wall? Can someone pull it from the bottom and have it fall off the wall?
That was my concern too, a kid pulling it out!
merci de france
super boulot , je vais faire le mème
j'aurais bien voulu les dimensions des différents bois car je parle pas anglais et en chifre sur plan c'est plus facile pour moi??
what are the chances of adding a table saw feed attachment to this folding table?
Very nice design. Strongly considering building one. My biggest challenge is wall space. Question for you- Instead of using 3/4” plywood, I’m considering melamine. Used it for my miter saw table & like it. Will pocket hole screws work with melamine?
Any idea of total weight? I'm wondering whether the caster wheels are really necessary? Seems like it would be pretty easy to drag the workbench across the garage floor. Any thoughts from other who have built one? Thanks!
Absolutely necessary for me as I have limited space to work. I’m going to hang it on a wall inside (with a few mods to make it look like a piece of art)
Hi, my friend.. Thats a very versatile fold away work bench.. It fits perfect to the needs of your garage workshop.. The idea is well thought through... I also bilt a somewhat similar thing some time ago.. (video on my channel).. Is this table top made out of pre finished plywood ? Well done..subscribed and greets from Germany.
Nice table! Where can I download the plans?
I like this man, you have measures?
I wish you spoke a bit more about how you actually put the table upright onto that supporting 2x4. I guess that's just a lot of brute force! Do you feel you'll be less inclined to use the table in a few years just because how heavy it is to avoid that move? That's my only concern as I'm planning my own workshop in a few years (and so far this is my #1 idea for the main work surface) -- otherwise great build and both videos are really enjoyable!
I believe the wall mounted 2x4 support is at a height just below the table top. When he rolls the table against the wall the the overhang of the table top is over the support. He can then lift the opposite side of the table using the wall support as a pivot point and shift the table weight onto the wall support. This way he is never lifting the full weight of the table. Hope this clarifies rather than confuse.
I would add: 2 x 3/4" boards with 19 or 20 mm holes on the top..
My rollers and 2/4 keep flopping when in the rolling position to the non rolling position, any ideas?
For project like
Hello. Please how can you prevent the tablet to wobble without some diagonal Pieces?
I'd say it would have much more stability if it had two stretchers. Right?
I will try to build it. The idea is excellent. Saves space while providing mobility. However, it still is a little wobbly. Maybe if I try the two stretchers it'll be more stable.
What does the wear and tear look like on the plywood when you fold the table up? It’s the bottom board when it comes into contact with the plywood.
I want to build this but wondering if that area needs something extra so the plywood doesn’t deteriorate from the motion.
I've mounted mine dozens of times and there's no wear and tear in that area. There isn't enough friction there to cause any damage. Hope that helps. 👍
How much does work bench weight?
Has anyone tried to mount this vertically on the wall vs. horizontal? If yes, I'm curious what modifications anyone has made. I want to build this workshop table but given my physical space limitations, I would need to mount vertical on the wall. Thanks!
That would be extremely difficult to do, due to the amount of weight you would need to be pushing up. I encourage you to give it a try though. 😅
What is the smallest table with a 36" height could this work on? What is the height of your table with wheels? I only have space for a 5' table and was trying to calculate if the legs could still be in line. thanx Love the idea and the video.
Im the worrying kind. Isnt it possible for the table to fall down from the lower ledge when folded up? If a kid yank it hard for example?
Sure, if you "yanked it hard", it would. But, why in the world would I or anyone do anything like that?! I think you're being too worried. 😅
French cleat type of deal or a half lap cut would fix that right up.
@@dutch971 Don't do a french clean as that would require you to taper the edge of the work bench 3/4" plywood top. Notch the 2x4 if you're that paranoid, but the weight of this bench alone would create a lot of friction on the bottom to the point where it would be next to impossible to pull this off unless you truly tried to pull it off.
@@VisualSpicer you haven't had many kids, have you? Kids do stupid things all the time, trying to "help," or just playing.
I think another latch on the lower board would be a better idea. Maybe even a hasp, with a little lock, too, if your kids are that rambunctious. 🤔
Every time i watch one of these videos the Achilles heal is the legs. People get there 4 x 4 leg drill the hole in the centre then round off the top off the legs so they will fold. The problem is the whole of the strength of the bench sits on the top off the rounded off legs of the bench which then sits on whatever you have used as a worktop. The guy who did the original version of this bench calculated where the hole should be to keep the strength of the bench but also let the legs fold nice job thou
Are you going to leave it as a wooden table top or make it something tougher
Tougher for what? It's solid! 😅
@@VisualSpicer like having a piece of metal on it, to prevent gouges or other damage to the plywood surface. Cabinet grade isn't very strong when it comes to dings and/or things dropped on it. I'm sure that's what they mean.
I know you weren't understood by the creator, but I get what you mean. I saw at least one picture on their web page, down where where others' builds are shown, that had something else as an overlay on the top of the plywood.
did you complete this project with a single sheet of plywood?
Hello sir iam from philippines can u give the specs please, thank you!
where do i get the plans and material list for this table
Hi Ricky. Links are in the video description. Thanks for asking.

😎👍👍🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
sell this kit? is the kit available. this way, eliminate the cutting at home. just putting together by end users. I would buy it
YES! Link in video description. Thanks!
@@VisualSpicer you don't sell a pre-cut, packaged kit. That's exactly what they're after. It gets shipped to them, they open the box, and screw it together. No measuring or cutting involved.
I was not able to download the PDF plans for this workbench. However, my card was charged $12.00 on March 8, Posted March 10, 2024. Please resend your plans . Thanks, MHR
Long time no see
Nice to see you again. 😊

I like my tables to be 37 inches high. Since my Table saw is that high and my Small out feed assembly table is also 37 inches high. Also I would like my new table to be 58 inches long because on the wall where I have that much space between two wall outlets and would prefer not to block access to them when the table is hung on the wall. All of that gives me some serious design issues as far as designing the leg to fold up and not run into one another when folded up. I see some strength issue with your design. NO OFFENSE. And the awkward way one has to reach over the SPREADER bar to engage the Securing locks on the wall to hold thew table up on the wall.....
Your wheel design seems a bit more stable compared to the other two videos.
FOLDABLE WALL MOUNTED TABLE, HOW I DESIGNED........
SIR,
EXCELLENT DESIGN WORTHY OF APPRECIATION.

my bad, plans are correct, apologize.
Must be shared with people for free. Can you do it for free?
Nope, they charge for it. But you could alter it, and then offer it free, or at least much lower cost.
Think you just love to hear yourself talk. Helps nobody.
Привет. Мне кажется, что в крючках нет необходимости. Но ваш проект нужно повторить. У меня гараж ещё уже, чем Ваш.
