    I love your channel! Do you have a video of you explaining why you decided to become a nurse and what you were doing before you started nursing?

      @@diamondtiera96 awesome video I have 2months left in MA SCHOOL. I was very undecided between CNA OR MA... alot of people kept telling me how burnt out you get and having so many patients when CNA's call out! But watching the videos it doesn't seem that bad lol... wish me luck on the medical field... I may consider going back to school after 1 year for the lpn program

    5:26 girl. Real talk. Patients with pure wicks but we don’t have any. Why is it there is never a set up for success with the previous shift.. no supplies in rooms, as an 18yr PCT vet.. I get so frustrated.
    Can’t wait to finish RN school. 😅

    I love your video. I am a CNA/GNA here in Maryland. I am moving towards enrollment in the PCT program at my Community College. I am also going to enroll in the RN (ADN) program. For now, the topic is about being a PCT, which is my immediate focus.

    I work in a postpartum unit in NY and is easy peasy. I only hate drawing baby's blood for tests. Everything else I love it!

      How soon after you became a pct that you worked in that unit in NY? And is the pay decent ?

    • @editname3145
      @editname3145 Год назад +1

      I worked in a nursing home, for 6 months then 2 years in a rehab center and then I got this job. Usually postpartum would like you to have some experience med surgery. Some not really. I get paid $27 day shift. Evening $30. It's decent but in NY not much.

    I have an interview for this position and im nervous. I am a 4year phleb so this is a slight career shift for me. Any tips on dealing with really sick patients like ICU?

    • @diamondtiera96
      @diamondtiera96  2 года назад +4

      I floated to the ICU for a few hours. I had 15 patients and I only had to get temperatures and blood sugars (their vitals are being constantly checked by the monitor) the nurses really pulled their weight and I only got called when I was actually needed.

    Is it common for a hospital to hire someone for the PCT position without any medical training/experience? I would like to apply for this position at my local hospital, soon.

    • @diamondtiera96
      @diamondtiera96  2 года назад +8

      If you don’t have any experience it would be beneficial for you to be in school for something related to the medical field. I’m pretty sure that’s how I got hired.

    Hey! I'm new here, and I'm just wondering how you manage nursing school and working as a CNA. IM currently in my first semester and want to work as one, but I'm scared I won't be able to balance school. Any tips? 🙃

    • @diamondtiera96
      @diamondtiera96  2 года назад +2

      I don’t want to lie and say it’s easy because it’s definitely not. I have a good support system and because of that I’ve been able to cut back on my hours at work to focus more on school especially since I’m going in to my last semester.

      Most of the time your workplace will tell you what’s required of you for charting. It varies from place to place, there really isn’t a one size fits all.
