So in this video, we will discuss the lifespan of Golden Retrievers and I will share a few tips to possibly extend their lifespan.

Being a Golden Retriever Owner I can tell that it's not as easy as it seems to raise a Goldie. Even though they are one of the most intelligent and gentle dogs, there are quite a few challenges that every new parent goes through. So I decided to share all the advice and tips for raising a Golden Retriever.

The problem with golden retrievers is that they don't live long enough no matter how long they live! We've had two of them and it's devastating when they pass away, they're just too wonderful...
I got my dog from a farm. Fixed him. Walked/run him daily for an hour, play fetch with him in big parks. fed my golden home made dog food, fruits and table scraps, he’s happy and healthy. Still running beside my bike at 11 years old. Aside from occasional seasonal allergies, he’s disease free.
If you want your golden to live long, stay away from commercial foods. Feed him wholesome home cooked food. My neighbour has a golden that is 16 years old and still kicking, I see her walking him daily. She fed him homemade food of vegetables, brown rice and turkey.
Agreed , my friend just cooked boiled pumpkins and vegetables with occasional meats and their golden lived 18 years
My is a Guide Dog for the blind.
She is 15 years of age in great shape and health.

In my research I found several articles that suggested you don't spay or neuter your golden until a year old, which helps guard against joint issues, hypothyroidism and other health issues.
Yes that is correct. You shouldn’t have your Golden fixed before they are one year old. Doing it earlier than this cuts off access to hormones that they need for healthy development and can lead to joint problems and hypothyroidism in both male and female golden retrievers, and a predisposition to various forms of cancer in female golden retrievers. In fact traditional advice has always been that dogs should be spayed or neutered before six months of age to diminish the chances of them developing uterine infections but that is False!

i really want to get a golden retriever but im afraid of losing them even though that's life but i want mine to live extra-long and happy life. i wish dogs could live as long as humans❤❤❤❤
My GR had to be put down at age 14, because he lost the use of his hind legs and could not get up anymore. If that had not been a problem, he could have lived longer. :(. But he lived a happy life while he was with us.
That is really sad but he definitely lived the best possible life he could have :)

My goldens all are chosen from good breeder's.
We feed them raw meet and add lots of vitamin's. You should try that.
We have a huge yard for are goldens to run in so they always get there exercise.
We make sure our goldens don't eat to much or to little.
We don't take our goldens to the vet regularly but they still go lots.
We don't regularly groom them but still groom them lots.
My mom breads goldens we don't spay or neuter them until they are 6-7.

@@gitanjalisingh6521 which food do you keep for ur puppy as I feed my golden some rice mixed with curd , but he has stopped eating rice don't know why but now he eats cereal wheat apple which human babies eat bur then that doesn't full his stomach and you should just keep 4 spoons max of the cereal so can you suggest what you feed your puppy 🙏
@@burningstars2525 I am feeding him dog food- puppy starter mixed with curd which he loves and in between meals I do give him mashed apple or banana or boil potato.. This also he is loving to the core.. my pup jumps a lot these days when we eat but eat but try not to offer him anything yet as that will lure him even more..

What’s the best affordable insurance for a golden retriever?
So you think you can do a video on why golden retrievers are so prone to cancer (iirc it wasn’t always so high but when the breed got really popular people need a lot of them without responsible methods and the gene pool got contaminated) and how best to spot/delay it? We lost our Wilson to cancer, I miss that big goofball.

How often should we brush his teeth? Also should we change food brands every once I a while or keep it consistent? Thank you for all the great info!
I brush my Goldens twice a day and make sure it had chicken feet or a decent bone to keep those teeth white x
2 times per week is ok but don't give him sweets ^^
it is ideal to brush your dog's teeth at least twice daily. For many dogs, once brushing becomes a part of their daily routine they will begin to expect and enjoy it. Brushing three times a week is the minimum recommendation to help remove plaque and prevent tartar accumulation. Our simba loves everyday brushing routine ;)

In India dogs from delhi there are coming from there first the goldie born and stays for some time and then reaches to it's owners location so I am a little bit scared one time he bought a goldie and rip to second to rip

Yeah I was a little worried about that little part of the video because it turns out that Spaying or neutering can cause arthritis and they will live less soooo 💀

We've been giving our simba Orijen dog since he was a puppy and its no doubt one of the top brands around the globe but we still recommend you to consult your vet regarding your dog's diet, it's allergies and what he prefers and based on which you could choose a brand :)

My golden retriever
His leg got bit by a different dog for no reason I took him to the vet and he had to go on very short walks and I don't know how long he is going to live for in age wise he is 5 and I have had him since he was a puppy and I still have him

Sorry such things cannot be predicted and your golden retriever is just 5 and still young! Golden retrievers can live upto 12-14 years of age with best care and attention! If you manage to provide that, our cute little fur buddy isn't going anywhere :) Please take good care of your dog!
