Maybe it’s time for our country to recognise we are a democracy and not a socialistic country. Why are we making everyone fund these drugs. It should be democracy and everyone pays for themselves. If on the dole etc then we must show social responsibility and help.
Are you serious??? The average OECD input is 1.4% of GDP and New Zealand only inputs 0.4% that is a lot of care we get for the minimum input? The alternative is seeing people going into debt for basic medications

We are flip flopping on if we are a Democratic socialist country or a democratic libertarian country. Obviously socialists can be to heavy handed with their ideals and can turn into authoritarians but libertarians can be so drunk on individualism that they are only a few steps away from anarchism and the complete chaos of right of power. You have your personal agency within the system of governance we decide and we might be heading towards people with more right to the power of the dollar having more control over our democratic country than people. Because now you are beholden to a dollar and not the people around you. We are a democracy but we got to get a better blend than the blind individualist democracy Seymour’s pushing in my opinion

Getting everything for nothing just increases irresponsibility.
Everyone says this until they need open heart surgery or brain surgery that costs half a million dollars, followed up by a life on drugs that cost thousands of dollars a year. The fact is the PHARMAC model is world-leading and all you have to do is look at the dysfunction within the American health system to see why a "me me me" model just doesn't work when it comes to healthcare.
