Thanks for watching!
I just had a missing chicken issue. I thought she was flying out of the enclosure, she was missing for at least a month and I thought a coon got her. Then she showed up in the coop one day, and then disappeared again. Everyone reading this is yelling "she's broody!" And you are correct. She found a hiding spot and was sitting on one of her own eggs which unfortunately isn't fertile so I gave her 2 fertile eggs but I don't know how long she was on the infertile egg, don't want her getting sick from being broody too long.
That's what I was thinking. She's probably taken her broody self to a hiding spot and she could be sitting on a nest
@@YS-lk4ek you gotta be joking bro? lol
@@YS-lk4ek ?¿?¿
@@vert5807 tbh it is a slur
@@retunings6897 not when it's about a bird. Which in this case it is. 🤔
I had a missing hen found her a week ago on some eggs under the barn and now 5 days later she has 9 babies... I love that hen she's the best!
A very nice tribute to Amelia. Her mystery is just like her namesake. I always enjoy your videos, with the great soundtracks and the side shot snippets of other things going on. Eli singing and rocking Isabelle was a beautiful shot. And at the end, Eli pushing Becky and Isabelle in that wonderful swing. The pure joy on Isabelle's little face was so moving. Have a wonderful weekend to one and all (including all the critters).
Here's hoping she just decided to go on an adventure and will show back up just as randomly as she went missing.
Also sorry about the guineas. Had been wondering what was going on with them since we haven't seen them in a while. Never easy to lose animals, but i guess that is just part of the circle of life. Hopefully you guys can get the aviary up and running soon so this doesn't have to keep happening!
It's possible that she went broody and decided to go off and hide, even though she is unable to hatch any fertile eggs, she'll still try. The fact that you didn't see any evidence of predators (her feathers, etc.) showing... it's possible she'll show up in 28 days.
I personally think Amelia duckheart finally decided she wanted to fly across the whole world to spread her wings. You gave her the ability to fly and i think she recognized the gift and took advantage. I dont think a predator got her!
I know you don't want the reeds in the pond, but maybe consider growing some sort of coverage for your birds by the coop? Some people suggested berry bushes, so they can be useful in more ways than one. I also wonder if geese would help guard the ducks. I don't know enough about geese and ducks though, so I would research that. Glad you got the cameras up! That'll help some.
Great suggestions, i agree on the berry bush thing, or some sort of coverage. They can find a way to hide themselves from predators if they're feeling threatened.
I do own geese, however, and used to own ducks, and in my experience, geese usually just bully ducks off of the pond which would leave them vulnerable to land predators. Geese are unlikely to protect the ducks unless they're raised together, probably.
a great idea though! but maybe the experience is different depending on the breed, age, and gender of the goose.
For reference to anyone who happens to read my comment, domesticated Chinese and African geese are the breeds of geese I own.
I'm so sorry about Amelia. I loved hearing her story and seeing all of the pictures of her. She surely did find a special place in your hearts and memories. I can't help but hold a tiny hope that maybe she's out there somewhere and will find her way back home.
A good thing to do for your ducks is to leave your pond open, so in the day when an owl trys to attack (which is highly unlikely since most owls are nocturnal), the ducks can escape to the water, which is what most do in the wild.
He does lets them out in the day
@@bobobob5108 oh, ok :)
You guys have been such an inspiration on not just us making RUclips videos but the way we want to live, thank you so much for what you guys do just wanted you to know that you have made a big impact on our life and we wouldn’t be living the way we are without a boost from you guys. Thank you and bless you all.
That swinging clip is a keeper! So sweet.
I’m so sorry about Amelia :( i really hope she just randomly shows up, i know it’s not likely but there’s always hope. In the end she was just as lucky to have y’all as y’all had her.
The video of Isabella being sung to by her brother is the cutest most wholesome thing ever. Those boys are probably going to protect her her whole life. The amount of love in the little clips of your family is so special.
Ima survivor sanctuary has Muscovy ducks also. One of their females disappeared for 6 months and just showed up again and has had 2 huge bunches of babies. 17 and 12.
She will be missed a lot 😢 💔 😔
Its really nice to see how you bond with your animals, and birds. I can tell that you care for them a lot. Thank you for sharing your memories of Amelia.
I'm going to write my own ending to this story. Several weeks after Ameillia went missing, one day, she came waddling up to the chicken coop with 12 babies following behind her. Out exploring one day, Ameillia stumbled upon an abandoned nest full of eggs. Ameillia sat down and didn't leave until, one by one, the babies started hatching. After all her babies hatched, she wanted to show them off to her family so she returned home and they all lived happily ever after.
Man that humming sound the emus make is really cool
I definitly have faith that she will return!!
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that she comes back.
Sorry for your loss. Glad you have babies
eli is so good and cute.. he is always there to look after his brothers and sis...
and also still waiting for the aviary to be up....
I'm so very sorry about your babie duck of having her so long.....Now she's gone......RIP🦆
What a beautiful family
So sorry your kids are adorable I’ll pray she comes back
Hope she surprises you and comes back. That happened to others before. Amelia is beautiful
We know how you feel. Sorry for your loss
Sad news. She was a great, beautiful duck. She lived an ideal life any duck would love. The new babies are adorable! Great vid. Beautiful photography on the swing at the end. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Might sound crazy but there's a good chance the dog ate up the baits because she knows predators could potentially be tempted in. Could be a sign of a solid guard dog. She's clearly fed well so I personally doubt it was just a quick snack. 👍
do you own dogs? doesn't matter if they just ate, if something tasty is on the floor they're going to get it.
@@bashlee09 I do. And they wouldn't. Lol 🤷
@@j_toledo419 Okay Joe.
@@bashlee09 I came down here looking for someone to say that or I was gonna say it myself. It doesn't matter if they're stuffed you leave tuna out on the grand they're gonna eat it right up.
I am so sorry for your loss🙏🏼
Sorry she is gone....God Blessing for y'all....Thanks....Shoe🇺🇸
BEAUTIFUL family , farm animals & farm land , I pray that Amelia come back home there's still hope . love & enjoy your videos stay safe & happy much LOVE from GEORGIA ❤ ❤
I am so sorry to hear about her going missing
Sorry for your loss.
i am so sorry for your duck it seem like she was very special to you😞
thanks for sharing your family with me 😊 sorry about your duck😢
Ima Survivor Sanctuary had a Muscovy duck go missing too and she's about the same color as yours and she ended up coming home later on and has laid a bunch of babies maybe you can get with them and see if they can send you some babies or eggs to hatch out but anyway maybe she will show back up especially since she was getting broody she may have found somewhere else to lay her eggs.
Do you have night vision on the camera? Living in Australia, I’ve found that very useful spotting foxes around the chicken coop, and has helped us trap them.
The spur will grow back. My rooster used to lose his off and on.
Sorry to hear about your guineas and your beautiful Duck...
It's gotta hard having so many creatures who you are so attached to and get devastated when something terrible happens to them.
I heard that animals that are old can go on a wonder and can just find a nice place to pass away
Duck like Amelia flew into my barn area one day. Half barn made into Aviary-rest for horses. Farm duck just included herself with my large assortment of birds & lived with us forever. Never knew where she came from- certainly wasn't traumatized. Came out of nowhere_then decided live with us! 2 Great Pyrenees protect -we backed wilderness
I'm so sorry about you duck. ❤🙏
I loved watching Eli sing to the baby. Such a great big brother!
Also, it might be time to separate the roosters. They may fight to the death. I'm not an expert tho. Just my humble opinion. ☺️
I'm surprised that there isn't any netting over all the fowls.
Hello! Just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate this channel!! ❤❤
She's spreading her wings!!!!
I hope she comes back. One of my favourite animals on your farm.
So sorry about Amelia, she was definitely a special duck. Hopefully she is still around somewhere and will come back. Awful news about the guineas too, it's never easy losing animals, but it's a part of life and we have to keep moving forward. Hopefully Manny will be fine as well. We have a rooster who somehow broke his spur off completely in a fight! He healed just fine, although, since he broke off the whole thing including the core, his spur has not grown back. Manny's most likely will grow back though. Wishing you all the best. God Bless You!
I feel for you guys. I just did a video on two of our barn cats getting taken in the same night. Sad reality of free ranging especially our cats were free 24 hrs a day. My two favourite cats too. I feel responsible and very down. We get attached to these animals, very true. I have a few security cameras too, but didn’t pick up anything. Like you guys losing a good friend but gaining some new ones, we also gained 4 surprises kittens from Maggie barn cat. Good times and bad times on the farm eh. Regards, Chad.
I had some mallards that always came home & we had a Canadian Goose that decided he lived at our house... he would fly across the yard & his feet would hit my head
I just started subscribed, love this wonderful family
I'm sorry about Amelia hits my heart deep. Love animals and love your videos I feel like part of your farm/family . Super good editing/content. Sorry for your loss keep your heads up :-)
Congratulations for hatching your beautiful gorgeous,Red golden pheasant they are really gorgeous how beautiful birds are they I can believe it golden such beautiful birds awesome
Ooh poor rooster! Hope he heals up quickly. Loved the dog eating the tuna 😂
Love all your videos! They make my day!! Been watching for a while, now, and will be watching fora while more! 🧡
I don't want to even imagine absence of Emilia. Heart broken💔
Baby girl is so cute, she reminds me of a cabbage patch doll I had as a child. We will miss Amelia. I love her iridescent feathers. So beautiful 😍
My Muscovy’s are independent, they don’t follow my other ducks. One of them will bunker down in random places and send me on the hunt to find her. I hope your girl comes home safe and sound.
So very sorry but there's always hope.
we kept a couple of flying muscovy females absolutly charming and thy have both vanished clipped wings to keep ducks with you
Thanks!
it's just hard when an animal u love just.........disappears.....or...dies.
I hope she eventually comes back for you guys 😕
What a fun swing!
We had our 4 Pekin ducks vanish back in December. We saved a few eggs from then and hatched out one duckling, Survivor.
Ive experienced a similar muscovy situation. A female just as yours. Adopted her when she and her siblings were one day old...the others didnt make it but this one. She was living with the chicken and once she helped me hatch a few chicks from mama hens eggs . One day when I was coming back I saw her flying beyond the backyard walls. Went after the trails, but that was it! never found her :(
Not every story has a happy ending. It’s what makes the ones thanksgiving do so much sweeter. I’ll miss her too.
Aww..... so sorry
Love to see the hookbills!! Totally my favorite!!
Love your videos from Brooklyn NY
Could have found another nesting spot. Muscovy can be flaky. They pond hop too.
Glad you installed a new camera to keep an eye out for predators! Owls are silent in flight which makes them deadly predators!I'm sorry you haven't found any sign of Amelia yet! I'm hoping she's just nesting somewhere ! Praying that you find her and have closure!
Hi my name is zainab living in Ontario Canada originally from Syria but I’m in Canada mor than 25 years ago and just wannabes you that I’m really enjoying watching your channel; keep going and mor success with you all the best

O iam so so very sorry for your loss🤗
Uploaded 19 minutes probably the earliest I’ve ever been so excited to watch the video

Hi
That’s the security system we have.
She will be sitting on eggs somewhere, ducks like it ultra-quiet areas to nest, all the action in the coop was not suffice for her, this is obvious because of her broody feathers in the nest box.. meaning she was considering that spot as a sitting but change her mind in the end when she was ready to lay..
Muscovy will roost in trees, fingers crossed she will get hungry and show back up. we have Muscovy they occasional like to stretch their wings and fly out of the pen, but they go right back in getting a little higher up from the pen.
Has-she gone for ever ? I can't believe it Rest In Peace Emilia
I hope that in around 29 days she comes out of the weeds - with a few ducklings..(that's muscovy incubation days, right?) maybe the chickens weren't giving her enough nest privacy.
I hope you find Amelia soon 😢
Life moves on 🙂
Maybe you should get some geese to live with the ducks for some protection.
I'm gonna cross my fingers she flies back to you guys!!
Her soul has not moved on. You said she was broody, she has to be around there somewhere you have not looked. I would continue to keep faith, Muscovies can be sneaky creatures and I really don’t think she could go that far in the first place.
When I first subbed to y’all I loved the channel which was like 2 years ago I noticed y’all had a lot of livestock and I was wondering how do y’all take care of all of these animals
I love your farm
Well get some more of her
Make a memorial frame with her feathers and a pic of her
It’s important to trim spurs regularly or they can break them
So sorry your favorite duck is missing. Hopefully she will surprise you, and come back.
She migrated.. She hopefully will make it back
I'm so sorry
I'm so sorry that you missing your duck
So sorry Jake, Becky and family.

I'm so sorry she is missing~prayers for her safe return ❤🤗👍
That’s a cool camera might get us one for our backyard
I don’t know why, but I haven’t been getting notifications that y’all have been posting. It’s also bad on my part but I haven’t been checking, but on the bright side I can now binge like 20 of your videos!
