    I have owned a CPX1 for about 5 years. It has a lot of good features. I did swap to a Short Stroke trigger from Galloway Precision. The factory trigger is awful especially with arthritis issues. Accurate & dependable.

    ❤️ @Sootch00, budget guns have a very important place in the new gun buyer community. Single moms and single women are hard-pressed to pay for a pistol and ammunition, and then they are spending another $150 for a 3-hour basic pistol class! That class is very important to them because they want to be a safe gun owner and learn some basic self-defense knowledge. So thank you for talking about guns that first time gun owners in a lower income group can actually afford.

    I cannot say enough good things about SCCY's customer service. Less than a week turnaround on the two occasions I needed warranty work.
    I'm also impressed by Joe Robuck's philosophy, as stated on their website. I own 3 CPX-2 pistols in different colors.

    Couple of things that I'd like to add to another great video. I have a few sccy handguns, glove box, tackle box and I do carry one with a red dot from time to time. I can't stress enough how excellent sccy customer service is. I had a magazine issue, which is common with sccy. I called the factory and the phone was immediately answered by a person. I was transferred within seconds to someone who knows the gun. They FedEx'd a new magazine that day. I also had to send my cpx 2 in for service and it was sent, fixed and returned in 6 days. Folks, thats unheard of. The machine work on the gun is 1st class and the lockup/dwell times are perfect. I can put 1" groups at 10 yards and I have had a few malfunctions, but they were ALWAYS magazine related. If you buy one of these guns I can't stress enough that you have to shoot it. Magazine problems will be immediate and obvious. Don't look past this gun, and keep an eye out for the new models, they have been completely redesigned for 2022.

    I picked-up the DVG-1 a few days ago and shot it at the range today. I was impressed with how accurate the gun was at 7 yards. The only issue are the magazines, which fit loose and pinches your skin when you fire it. In addition, out of the 2 mags provided with the gun 1 mag failed completely it would not feed the ammo after the 1st round was fired. All in all, for $300 bucks I feel fairly confident about the reliability of the gun but make sure you check your magazines.

    Glad to see the company listening and adapting. I loved my Gen 1 SCCY CPX2 except for the length of pull required (I had to stretch my short fingers out to get a good feel on the trigger) and then I'd end up sore from a day at the range and need to ice down my trigger finger. That was a result of the long pull, the winch-style strength required to pull it and the snappy recoil that followed. The flat face and lighter pull sound great. Can't wait to get to my LGS and try it out! Thanks for the review!

  • @markschick3796
    @markschick3796 2 года назад +2

    So when I have people who have never handled a handgun before ask me what they should get, I usually suggest a double action trigger for their first pistol. I had seen the SCCY reviews and thought the company must have overcome the initial problems they suffered when they were first released, otherwise, how would they still be for sale, right? So I had a young guy that worked for me go and purchase one. He immediately had nothing but problems. Failures to feed, failures to eject, the pins would walk out during fire. I called SCCY and let them know what was happening. They sent two new magazines for the feed issues, as well as a set of pins that had been painted to increase the diameter, making them less likely to walk. I installed the pins and took it to the range. The problems were lessened, but did still occur. I'm of the opinion that firearms should be pretty much sorted out before they hit the market. Otherwise, they could end up getting you killed. I gave the kid the money back he spent on the gun because he had purchased it at my suggestion, dismantled the gun and threw it away piece by piece. There's nothing wrong with budget guns, but they have to work. From my personal experience, SCCY is trash and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

    I like my SCCY CPX-2 because of the DAO trigger. I don't feel comfortable, yet, pocket carrying a cocked hammer/striker fired gun. Rather have a long trigger pull than a hole in a leg. Great review.

    All you have to do with a Sccy CPX 2 is change the sights and do the trigger kit and polish the barrel and ramp feed and they work just fine … I run plus p plus and also 235 gr hard cast and it works fine

    I used to sell them when they first came out, they were selling for around $200. Great conceal handgun. I did notice you have to work the slide on those manually by hand about a 100 times and clean/lube before you take them out to the range. Glad to hear the new ones shoot out of the box. The thing I like best about these guns is that they are made in the USA.

    I always wanted to like sccy because of its price and options but the grip and trigger are terrible. I almost talked myself into buying one with a red dot just to try out a red dot on a pistol but I can't find anything I like about the gun other than the price

  • @BooDamnHoo
    @BooDamnHoo 2 года назад

    I have a CPX2 and changed out the trigger with the MCARBO replacement, making the trigger pull around 4 lbs. It is, of course, still a long pull. The pistol is REALLY comfortable in my hand (with the extended mag with finger hold) and is easy to conceal. The mag does pinch my hand sometimes so it would be nice if they tightened that up a bit. One other issue I have is it is not so easy to drop a mag with the mag release button. It just seems a bit mushy and so I have to make a real positive push which slows things down a bit and requires my grip to change a bit while I drop the mag.

    I guess Kel-Tec is more interested in innovating than capitalizing on a design that SCCY not only copied, but has now significantly improved.
    Of course SCCY wouldn't exist if Kel-Tec was ran differently.
    It's just a shame that the last few years has seen a surge of micro compact double stack 9mm's, and Kel-Tec is going to be the last manufacturer to get in on the game that they started lol.

    I watched twice and did not see any mention of a safety. SCCY puts a safety on their CPX-1 which is a double action pistol, and in my opinion not needed just as you don't have a safety with a double action revolver. With a striker fired pistol that you carry with one in the chamber it is ready to fire and in my opinion the owner should have the option of a safety, either in the type some manufacturers use with the "double trigger" or something like the 1911's use but please give us the option. I was excited to see SCCY was coming out with a striker pistol but until the safety option is available I'll stick with my CPX-2 and have one in the chamber ready to go.

    Canik has proven that you can make a reasonably priced firearm with a decent trigger… so there’s no excuse to have a garbage trigger anymore. It drives me crazy that we all pay good money for all these pistols then have to pay to then “upgrade” the trigger. When in reality… it would take very little effort on the manufacture to install a decent trigger from the factory. And I’m not saying a competition trigger… just a decent trigger.

    God Forbid, any of us actually ever have the need to use our tools in a self-defense situation. However, with all things considered. If you run your tools thru their paces and find them reliable, and "YOU" have confidence in them. Just my opinion, but I see a distinct advantage with the budget friendly tools like this. Having heard that the odds are your firearm will NOT be returned to you, especially in Shit-Cago here. Why would I want to lose one of my Sig's, S&W, Colt or Kimber's? Hell at today's prices I don't even want to lose one of my Glocks. Now for those haters that will say "I would never trust my life to a Taurus, SCCY or High Point" ok well maybe not HP..lol. That's great, also that's your choice. In that roughly 1-in-315 lifetime chance you're in a gun assault situation, and you do survive. Well, you may wish you had that pricey piece to sell for the legal fees. If not, at that point. All your safe queens, BBQ showoff pieces, kiss my a** range toys or Cochran Turret isn't doing you a lick of good.

    Sounds great for my needs in a truck gun except i need a safety. Wife cannot jack the slide to cock and get 1st round into chamber. I dont like a round ready to fire and no safety. Too bad. Back to a Taurus c2 or c3. Which is fine but would rather have one a bit smaller for easier carry to wally world
