"One of the most hastily designed starfleet classes..." Nice. I see what you did there. Actually gave John Eaves one hour to send across a design for the finale.
I am an ardent lover of the Miranda and all of her spiritual heirs.(centaur and the like) I would absolutely go out of my way to get this vessel in sto if it happened. Your design is wonderful!
I really love the Miranda style ships too. They give variety to the ship designs while still feeling like they belong in the Star Trek universe. It makes sense to share components and a design philosophy. I also like the New Orleans Class which has the same era aesthetic as the Galaxy and Nebula. I couple of recent photos I recently found are the Apollo class which is a Miranda style for the Ambassador class. and an TOS-style Miranda which I almost prefer to the TMP era.
Its awesome, I've never thought of this configuration for the Odyssey before. I love drawing starship variants and new ships, so its nice to see this inspiring idea.
I wish this would have been explained better in Star Trek: Picard, the same for the Romulan "copy and paste fleet" nice work Tri same with the fantastic idea on the new line of 25'th century starships. Pilgrimage Class 💖
Yeah... A cheap, easy to make and powerful starship would have made much more sense. Still very lazy on the CGI teams part. They didit even make a space battle ffs
Nice looking ship! Keep up the designing. It’s funny how the odyssey class is so big that a design derivative using only the saucer section is still a huge ship.
Idea: those ships the Klingon Empire gave the UFP, what if the UFP continued to utilize them and updated them with Federation tech? That might make for some really cool kitbashes.
Needs a deflector dish and impulse engines. My idea: keep the docking ring the Odyssey class has and taper that down to an underslung pod that houses the deflector, impulse drive, and main engineering
First, why did you like your own comment? Second, it doesnt need a deflector dish, as it utilizes deflector emitters along it's hull like the Miranda, centaur, Constellation classes ets use. Third it has Impulse Engines... Thus no underslung pod required!
Of course continue the kit bash! That's what Star Trek is for! Much easier then when we were coming up. Now it can be done on the computer. Kids today, geez. They won't know the wonderful agony of spilling rubber cement on their legs, through their jeans. Yea, kit bash. And stories.
This design reminds me of similar designs from awhile ago with the Sovereign class. However I enjoy that this kitbash has been taken a bit further with more details like the Aquarius auxiliary craft below the saucer and the cut outs of the saucer in either side of the shuttlebay. Possible critique would be to get a bit of the Parliament class design in it, maybe with the deflector dish or nacelle struts.
Both the design and in-universe history for the class are interesting, but some of the details make me think of a few of my own refits or enhanced existing vessels. The limited-run idea of an Odyssey-class saucer being used as a Miranda-style vessel is interesting to think of in battle
I actually liked this one. Thanks! Would you mind doing a video on how you create these, So that other aficionados can try their hand at it? Again, Thanx!❤
This honestly could have been something that came of Star Trek online post Iconianan War when starfleet was desperate to replace it's losses from the war.
At all times, there shall be a Miranda type, to act as a compliment, to the sure-to-be-designed, and produced Constitution type. All in favor, say Aye. :the entire Council's near-unanimous and enthused "Aye!” resonated along those hallowed halls.: I thoroughly love this design, but I do have some questions. Why is there neither a (Twitch) rollbar nor a (Twitch) strut tower, so that the variety of pods that Starfleet has, can be utilized? Marvelous, as always, work.
does it make sense that advanced ships like federation ones that need a comparatively small crew relative to their size are so... big? what is all this space for? Looks like the guys on Utopia Planitia lost a screw or two after desiging the Excelsior class
starfleet ships have advanced computers so most of the systems are automated so they only require a smaller crew compliment. And holodecks cargo bays science labs engineering labs computer cores and deuterium storage tanks and antimatter storage pods warp core and crew quarters take up most space on a starfleet ship
I do really like your channel and save some videos as workout videos. I watch some episodes on release and some of my recent comments have been critical of some of your backstories but I hope it has always been taken as constructive criticism. It's a nice-looking ship and would fit into the Star Trek universe. Simple, but elegant.
So.... The Inquiry-class, being such a mass-produced vessel, is basically the equivalent to ... The Miranda? I mean there were so many Mirandas around that could show massive losses of that ship in particular in every DS9-battle... Or the Excelsior? After all, it got similar appearance, just evolved a fair bit, and given that Riker took one of that ships for a ride like we always see those Admirals do in TNG.....
Another one with no visible main navigational deflector! I take it that this one is another one that has several deflector emitters instead of a single main dish?
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios TBH it's not that obvious to me. I've looked up some starship schematics on google, and even in cases like the Freedom, Miranda, and Stargazer classes, there's almost always a main navigational deflector somewhere in the schematic. While sniffing that Stardust think about this.....WHERE IS the Main deflector dish???? Kind of hard to navigate space at warp speeds especially with no directional or navigational shiedls....ya think?

Hey wasn’t the enterprise F an oddesy class? I know this is beta canon but isn’t the enterprise F worth mentioning or is it not even considered beta canon?
The Enterprise F IS canon now thanks to Star Trek: Picard... However, that doesnt mean it needs to be mentioned as this video is NOT about it, nor did it have any effect on this class what so ever!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios I did not mean to accuse! My apologies! My opinion. I would say; given this ship's mission to assist with teraforming planets, give this ship wider pylons from stem to stern and smooth out the nacilles underneth. Thus give the ship the "rare" ability to land itself on to the planet's surface. Doing this would allow for quicker time for replicated items to be brought to the surface and give the colonists a large and powerful shelter for weather and hostile lifeforms.
does it make sense to make ships that require larger and larger crews granted there are holographic replacement crew but ship that require smaller crews would make more sense because personal would be more of a bottle neck than ships, There are hundreds of member worlds and colonies that would have some kind of maintenance and ship construction facilities so ships should not be a problem. The federation merchant marine would be of more importance the transport of bulk supplies and personal for rebuilding The emergency recall of retired starfleet personal to step in till the academy could train enough offices and enlisted personal to fill the required posts.
It makes sense for an organization like Starfleet to have both Large and Small crewed ships for various reasons! IE industrial fabrication for colonization, Long term exploration for supplies and families, and scientific study on grander scales, again because of distance!
Im sorry but you weren't paying close enough attention... As I said in the video, the Odyssey and verity were commissioned in the early 2380's... That's BEFORE the Synth attack... So no, my Continuity is not off :P

I would happily fly this in STO
Has there been a “sovereign era” version of the miranda layout?
Same. I consider even the Akira as one of her heirs

Steamrunner, Nebula, Odyssey are such good and varied designs.
I love it! Great design and fantastic story as always! You truly have a knack for this, can’t wait for the next one.
I think every class should have a Miranda type sub class this ship is beautiful great work and great story as always
What software are you using to create these models?
And, yes, keep them coming. Please.
He uses Space Engine for the models and fly-by footage. There's a playlist (Space Engine Starships) just of Fly-bys rendered in Space Engine.
Holy moly, an Odyssey Miranda style configuration?

Given the Arrow shaped saucer of the Pilgrimage class, I’d have one called USS Oliver Queen.
this actually looks like it would be a great ship in STO. a frigate version of the odyssey would be very welcome.

clever work around for that episode of Picard where they simply copy and pasted
