The UK and the Netherlands have been maritime countries throughout the centuries, nice to see what ship building was like in the Middle Ages in the UK, again a beautiful and educational walk, thank you Nic for your wisdom. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Got here early for a change!😄 I hadn't heard of this place before...what an interesting village/museum and how cool was that smugglers cellar beneath the chapel!...a great version of Drunken Sailor too ... loved reading books about smugglers when I was a kid...wanted to be one when I grew up😀

      Thanks again 😊

I love how simple the means of creating a dry dock was, in which to build a ship. dig out a hole near the river, build a wooden structure to hold the ship under construction, breach the dam and float the ship away.
I am still enjoying this series. Bye!

Nice one Nic, interesting little place. I did laugh when you went into the chapel as your voice went lower, everyone always feels the urge to talk quieter in church or chapel, @Alehousehaunts Lorien will enjoy this, I think she loves anything to do with an old seaport or harbour 😂

Thanks so much for watching, Mark! The 'library voice', as I call it, when I go in churches is ridiculous, especially as I was alone in there 🤣 What's that all about? 🤦🏼‍♀️😄

i had the pleasure of working on the Master builders hotel restoration in the late 90s , i was probably only 18-19 , and worked on the site as a labourer with my dad.
that old hotel was a spooky place.
We gutted out all the old staff housing rooms above the pub ect , i ripped out a old fire place, and found a load of old packs of rizla, they must have been there since the 1800s.
the design hasnt changed much lol.
there are also tunnels that run from under tha hotel part , they supposedly go all the way to lord montagues estate...i have been down and seen the tunnels entrance and the beggining, but i didnt have the bottle to carry on walking it lol.
another fun fact...a episode of the british classic tv show Minder had a episode filmed there too.
wonderful place, i used to just sit by the river on my lunch breaks and just watch the world go by.
excellent video, just watched your portland video too....have a sub :)

@AtlanteanReacts oh I'd love to have seen those tunnels!
That's fantastic that you've actually worked on the Master Builder's hotel. I can only imagine how spooky it must have felt. I really love Buckler's Hard. Thanks for sharing all this info. Most interesting! And thanks for the sub! 😊
