good review. but I want to know what is the best choice between this darts (Phil Taylor gen 2) and the Unicorn gripper 3. I'm rear gripper and I use only 3 fingers. thanks for your answer.
+Guillaume Winterstein Thanks, its all personal to you as to which will be the best but as the Gripper 3 is a lot cheaper I would get those first and see how you get on with them. :)
I bought these darts and what I noticed is that with the small flights you have to throw them faster than with standard flights. They are incredible unforgiving though. If my technique is even slightly off the dart spirals in the air and enters the board at an irregular angle, but when I get it right it is like the dart is magnetically attracted to the place I am aiming at, which is a very satisfying feeling.
That's good to hear! Glad they work for you, we are all so different though that even if I had the same grip as you my throwing action could be completely different so its always worth experimenting until you find something suitable its just a pity there is not many places where people can give darts a good try before buying :)
Class review as always. On the new set, I've noticed that taylors darts at the moment have a sort of a pattern on the sides of the points. Are these the same darts as them?
Hi Darren, today , I watched this review and must say, though you're not a rear gripper, with the supplied setup, your grouping was the best for those 2 arrows. This is an old video and your natural grip might have evolved but this rear grouping in Q grip was perfect for those two..I also checked twice when you put standard flights..but again, the rear grip with original setup was awesome I have seen many reviews of phil Taylor darts where reviewer, removes the official flight and puts their own set-up as every reviewer opines that the dart flies fast... I guess, phil Taylor barrel is short and he utilises the variables of his 3 finger grip to optimum level and Taylor release is the key to entry angle landing on board.. This gen dart is unique in itself because it has rear scallop, a bit long point compared to any generation (target) or evolution (unicorn) phase.. In 2015, Taylor used this set-up in PDC finals.. Aesthetic dart this one is...and for this set-up, your comprehensive review is top notch Really, I love revisiting old videos of you fantastic channel and as always, I wish you the very best.. happy darting dr.darren🖖LLAP
Those darts look really nice, I'm planning on getting a set of those Phil Taylor ones. Is it a well balanced dart? Keep up with all the great reviews, love them all
Bud, heard that taylor has had some changes on these darts this last week, and since then he beat wade in the prem, and just won a pro tour beating anderson in final! Do we know what changes he's made?
Darts Review Channel thanks for the reply. I will probably get these darts so. I do like a dart that the grip can last for about 2 yrs. do u think these darts will last for 2 yrs?
difficult to say, too many factors involved, I dont know how good you are and how well you group them together but MVG has been using the same darts for well over 10 years and I am sure the grip on his wont be the same as when they were new but he still wins with them :)
Darts Review Channel thanks for the advice. I'm concerned because I had phils gen 3 darts and they wore very quickly ( 7 months ). I'm quite good. I average about 80 on a good day😊. 60 on a bad day
Well I think after 2 years they will certainly be less grippy, your a decent player by sounds of it but the blue part on the rear is scalloped so that will still be there and still provide some grip due to the shape.
Im currenty using john lowe 27g darts. Im looking for more grip. When i release the dart its sometimes slips. Im thinking of giving these a try and there is only a 1 gram difference.
just got mine yesterday bought at @ puredarts.co.uk, do you have a review of the target pixel grip shaft, i want to try one but am confused with the actual sizes without the spare tops?
+Jadin Abbas Hi, I got some Elysian darts that came with Pixel shafts but I have not reviewed the shafts on there own, I may need to get some more and give them a proper review as my Elysians are for collecting only, someone on the forum may be able to help you out though: www.dartsnutz.net/forum/
You know, as soon as I pressed the 'send / enter' button, I realised how stupid of question it was, lol (I am shame faced). Still, nice to be sure, especially since I'm considering shelling out £75 (extortion Target). Cheers... Keep the vids coming, although your the complete opposite of me. You seem to prefer 22-24g darts and grip at the front. I'm more 24-26g and through from the back . Never mind, good info and insightful!
Mike van Wieringen Thanks! I buy most of my darts but some I get for comps for the forum or occasionally a special review set. I usually give away the ones I get free though unless its a set I am very fond of :)
Would love to buy these but would like to test try them first. Alot of money for a set of arrows. Bet they throw like a dream though. Love your reviews great job
Sam Webber Thanks! If your a rear gripper you just may love the Quattro grip, but I think they can work well gripping the front and centre too, but then the Quattro grip is not needed so if your a front and centre gripper you may get on with the Gen 1 model better which is a little cheaper :)
What kind of shaft size is on the gen 2 9 fives? Short? In between? Medi? Can't see it really. I would like these shafts on my cortex cx2 darts. Currently using the gen 1 titanium shafts. But i agree that the gen 1 grip on the shafts seems alot weaker.
+Darts Review Channel That's an uncanny coincidence! Look forward to watching as soon as it's up. I throw Lowe's Golden normally (somewhat towards the rear) so like the bullet shape, but we'll see what I make of the G3s. I'll give them a good test drive and see if I get on with them. Worst case scenario - I'll keep them to just look at and admire! :-)
I used to love the Lowe darts but when I lost my natural throw through injury they no longer worked as good for me, but I think I could probably still throw the Lowes better as its a bit shorter than the Power G3. :)
+Darts Review Channel Sorry about your injury. But yep, I've dabbled with quite a few sets and yet always come back to my Lowe's... but maybe the G3 will win the day this time... we'll see... :-)
Thanks, I have always been a front gripper but I used to throw the 23g Lowes and they were only about 40mm long so I could grip them closer to the midde and they were fine, but I am going to get another set soon and re-visit them and see if I can get on with them again :)
+Gary Farkas I like the look of the Diamond range so will be getting some, not sure which model I prefer the most yet though:) We will be running a raffle on the forum soon for 3 sets of the new Winmau range: www.dartsnutz.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=16986&highlight=raffle
+Darts Review Channel i have signed up for the forumn. However, when I want to type my message in, my keyboard does not appear. Has anyone experienced this issue/problem. Any advise would be appreciated
+Ben Roger Øien Yeah I bought some Mach3 from Tesco the other week, but when I got home I realised it was bloody Gillete Sensor! Of course they did not fit the Gillete Mach 3 Razor, so I used my crappy disposable which cut me to shreds. Went back next week and thought I would get a Sensor razor too just in case I need it, but they don't sell the bloody Sensor Razors only the blades! Think I will shave with the darts instead.
Sure, just go here and buy some: www.madhousedarts.co.uk/darts-steel-tip/target-darts/undisputed-darts/power-9five/phil-taylor-darts-22g-power-9five-darts-gneration-2-target-darts.html I don't have mine anymore

***** Yeah that sounds about right, my throw is not hard or fast which is why I dont get on so well with such small flights :)
Darts Review Channel Thanks for the response! I really enjoy your videos : )
Cheers Patrick, glad you like them :)
+Charas Mayhem Yeah its amazing how much a change in setup whether stem or flight or both can have on the dart, glad they work for you :)
That's good to hear! Glad they work for you, we are all so different though that even if I had the same grip as you my throwing action could be completely different so its always worth experimenting until you find something suitable its just a pity there is not many places where people can give darts a good try before buying :)

Ben Richards He may be using board grippers?
He is using the diamond cut dart points ... I use them in my Taylor Gen 1 darts !
I really liked how these felt and flew. I also didn't mind the small power flights on there.
1LitreofCola Yeah good darts but I think you need to be a natural rear gripper to appreciate the Quattro grip fully :)

I do ok sometimes with the rear grip, I think with some darts it is probably better than others, maybe I should switch lol All the best mate! :)
Have you done the draw for the anderson darts yet. If not what day will you do it please so I know when to look
Callum Manson Hopefully tomorrow
Those darts look really nice, I'm planning on getting a set of those Phil Taylor ones. Is it a well balanced dart? Keep up with all the great reviews, love them all
Roan Hebert They feel better balanced to me than the Gen 1 did but I think the shafts are a good improvement too. Cheers :)
Bud, heard that taylor has had some changes on these darts this last week, and since then he beat wade in the prem, and just won a pro tour beating anderson in final! Do we know what changes he's made?
Ben Richards Not heard anything, will try to find out though :)
I'm very close to buying these darts but I have one concern... will the Quattro grip wear down easy cause they're so big?
I dont recall anyone mentioning about it wearing but I suspect it will likely wear to some extent
Darts Review Channel thanks for the reply. I will probably get these darts so. I do like a dart that the grip can last for about 2 yrs. do u think these darts will last for 2 yrs?

do you know what the length of the points are ??? are they 32mm or 36mm ???
check the review: 07:32
Im a rear gripper, do you think this dart is better for me than taylor G3? thanks
For me it was but I am a front gripper.
ok mate, thanks for the quick reply
No problem :)
Im currenty using john lowe 27g darts. Im looking for more grip. When i release the dart its sometimes slips. Im thinking of giving these a try and there is only a 1 gram difference.
Chris Underwood Worth a try I think :)
Target Phil Taylor Quattro darts review.

How many Quatro grip segments are on the barrel? 2, 3 or 4?
Ronnie 180 the answers in the name, Quattro which means 4 :)

Great review once again.
Question : Do you buy all the darts yourself you review or do the maufacturers send you a set to review ?
Mike van Wieringen Thanks! I buy most of my darts but some I get for comps for the forum or occasionally a special review set. I usually give away the ones I get free though unless its a set I am very fond of :)

GS Its smaller than a medium stem so I would say its an inbetween :)
Darts Review Channel so phil is throwing with an in between size. Thanks for letting me know! Cheers.
I loved these darts but i ended up swapping them for gen 3s and thoses are fantastic
I play the 24 g ones with small flights . I change my throw a bit and use 4 fingers not 3 and it works well :)
Are those stems intermediate lenght?
Not 100% sure but I think they were medium.
11:44 thought that was last orders :-). I prefer standard flights over slim style ones too.
Good video and review.
Which darts do you prefer the original power 9 five or the gen 2? :)
I think the Gen 2 seemed a little better balanced for me, strange really?
Hi! Will you be reviewing the new G3 set soon? (just broke the bank and ordered myself a 22g set. Truly beautiful dart! Excited...!!! :-)
+StopFramEmotion Review uploading now, but terrible for me, should be good for rear grippers though, they do look nice though :)
+Darts Review Channel That's an uncanny coincidence! Look forward to watching as soon as it's up. Can you review the unicorn phase 5 please, can you compare this dart to it as well because they are quite simular
I did post a comparison pic of the P5 Rosso with the original Target 9Fives in the forum review here: www.dartsnutz.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=7007
I also reviewed the Mirage P5 here: www.dartsnutz.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=8446

Or you could buy the Gilette mack3. They look the same, but are much cheaper.

Slim means in the Netherlands smart (where van gerwen and raymond van Barneveld come from)
Slim is a Dutch word then? Never knew that, must sound a but crazy when I call a dart smart then lol! :)
