im actually so sad, i cant play this because my hands are too small, my index finger on the second A fret and my pinky on the E 5th stretches my hands to the point i cant stretch anymore and it dampens the sound of the A string

I have big hands and still can’t figure out how to do it. My fret hand looks like it’s cramping up. I’ve tried stretching before practicing, but it just won’t get better.
Maybe your guitar is too big. I used to think my hands were too small to play but they will stretch if you force them. I bet mine are smaller than yours too. There’s a lot of benefits to having smaller hands, like being able to solo higher on the neck easier. Please don’t give up! If I can do it, I believe you can too edit: getting a mini strat helped so much. I can have my index on 1 e and pinky on 5 a and it’s clean

When my old neighbor, Joel, caught up with me on social media recently, one of the first memories he mentioned was the new bands that he discovered when my bands would practice or when I brought mixtapes to those Animal House parties at his place. Always mixtapes, never my record collection, because one of my rare LPs was destroyed in a drunken accident at Ronny's (RIP, 1959-1998) place in my other old neighborhood. My late wife, Jan, was the high school best friend of Ronny's sister, Kat; and Ronny making his own electric guitar for Shop class in school was a huge inspiration for me to get serious about learning how to play guitar.
